Chapter 509.1
After Half a Year
Fast-forward about half a year from the day I went to the Demon Realm and received a guest house from Finar for movement.
During this time, I completed the road to the royal capital of the Demon Realm, and now I could go there anytime I wanted. It was nice to have a wider range of activities.
Thanks to the hunting of monsters in the Demon Forest, the levels of me, Rir, and the other four pets have also improved.
The level of me and Rir increased only a little, though.
Perhaps it was the influence of Ruin’s power, but it was noticeably harder for us to raise our levels, and while all the pets except Rir had increased their levels by nearly 10, we had only increased ours by about 3.
One of the reasons may be that we were not fighting strong monsters that we had to risk our life, since our objective this time was to increase our DP, not to raise our level.
Lefi also spent a thousand years to reach her current level. The growth rate of Lefi may require an even greater amount of time compared to us.
There had already been three meetings among Rulers in the Rogard Empire, and I participated in two of them.
The competition that would bring the nations together was officially called the Humanoid Races Joint Competition, but It was commonly known as the Magic Warfare Festival.
Most of the rules have been discussed. The last of the fair and unfair parts have also been sorted out.
The construction of the event location in the Rogard Empire had also been started by the dwarves. I recently saw it from the sky.
What to say, it was really amazing, as expected of the Dwarves. They seemed to have carefully examined the parts of the plan that I had shared with them based on my shallow knowledge. Even now, when the stadium was still unfinished, it was an exciting structure to look at.
I knew from what I had heard that they were very good at this kind of construction, but it really felt different witnessing it with my own eyes.
I did not know if it was because of the use of magic, but the speed of construction was almost on par or even faster in comparison to how they built things in my previous life.
And despite the speed of construction, it was definitely built in a very solid form from foundation to its overall structure. Moreover, even looking at the parts that have been completed at this point, they have been refined in a conventional way.
I felt like I was catching a glimpse of the high level of technology possessed by the dwarf species.
The announcement that a competition would be held had already been made, and the economic circles centered on the Rogard Empire seemed to be actively moving.
The world was about to move forward one more step after the war.
We may still be within the framework of the [postwar] era, but we have started to move forward, trying to get out of it.
Times were changing.
I was excited to witness it during its creation, which was quite a feverish time, and even now, I still remained excited. However, the most significant change for me in the past six months happened at home.
“Hmm… It’s growing well. As for the duration, it’s difficult to say, but from the records that Layla-san has compiled, I’d say probably about another year.”
The old woman, who was touching Lefi’s abdomen, seemed to be using some kind of magic diagnosis while answering.
Her name was Xena.
She was a kind-looking grandmother, with drooping eyes and a constant smiling face, and was the midwife that Finar had prepared for us. By the way, she was a demon.
She seemed to be a skilled midwife that was even working directly for royalty. She had delivered the children of successive kings of the demon world, and even Finar said that, “She’s probably one of the top midwives in the world” and that we should ask her everything that we were worried about.
Once again, I was glad to have the opportunity to get to know him.
I asked Xena to come from the demon world to check on Lefi as soon as she could.
“A year from now…… I guess our child is an exceptional one.” (Yuki)
Lefi nodded at my comment, then Xena added.
“Yes, this child is the child of the [Demon Lord] and a [High Dragon]. As such, there is no doubt that this child will also be born as a powerful race. Therefore, the nutrition and magical power required by this child is likely to be an order of magnitude greater than that of a normal child. Also, the load on the mother’s body will be greater because of this, so please be aware of that.”
“Kakaka, that much is not a problem! I am a dragon! So, Yuki, don’t look so worried.”
Lefi grinned smugly.
Her belly had grown noticeably, indicating that the life in her belly was growing steadily.
It had been less than eight months since Lefi became pregnant. If she were a normal human, she would have given birth in a couple of months.
In Lefi’s case, however, it would still take a year from now.
