A Farmer's Journey To Immortality
Chapter 510: Celebrating the BreakthroughsAksai let out a slow breath.
“I… can’t believe it either,” he said, more to himself than to Yelia.
“My Aether path was the weakest one. I barely knew anything about it before the ritual. And now… it’s ahead of the others.”
He looked down at his hands before checking the rest of his body using his Spirit Sense. He looked the same, but he could feel the difference.
The demon beast’s soul slumbered within him now. His thoughts moved faster. His sense of the world felt deeper. The sea inside his soul had changed, and so had he.
Technically speaking, Aksai was the only Spirit practitioner in Dadangar with Spirit cultivation at the Foundation Building Realm and a soul powerful enough to rival that of a Core Formation Lord.
Even though there were many differences between the soul of a Core Formation Lord from Dadangar and the soul of an Aether practitioner at the Wisp Mastery Realm, they held roughly similar amounts of Aether essence.
The main difference was that the soul of a Core Formation Lord contained dormant Aether essence that couldn’t be used freely in most situations, while an Aether practitioner from Acarnis with Wisp Blooming Realm cultivation could use all their Aether essence through Aether Spells.
The speed of Aksai’s Aether cultivation both impressed and unsettled him.
“My Spirit cultivation is now the weakest,” Aksai said, shaking his head with a small, tired smile. “And that’s the one I spent the most time on. Strange, isn’t it?”
Yelia’s smile widened slightly.
“Sometimes, the right path takes time to reveal itself. You waited for the right moment. You made the right choice. The modified Aether Wisp method… was worth the wait.”
Aksai didn’t answer right away. He just stood there, letting the breeze touch his face, grounding himself in the present. Then, with a calm nod, he agreed.
“Yeah,” he said. “It really was.”
Aksai stretched his arms, still getting used to the feeling of being an early-stage Wisp Mastery realm Aether practitioner, when a sharp voice cut through the calm morning air.
Lini stood a few feet away, frowning deeply, her arms crossed. Her eyes slowly ran up and down his body with a look that could only be called unimpressed.
“Now that you’re all fine and awake,” she said, narrowing her eyes at him, “why don’t you wear some clothes?”
Aksai blinked, then looked down at himself. Sure enough, he was completely naked. His eyes widened, and he quickly bit his tongue as a chuckle slipped out.
“Right… probably should’ve taken care of that first,” he mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment.
With a flick of his wrist, he took out a fresh set of clothes from his storage ring—a simple black robe made from Spirit-weave cloth. He slipped it on quickly, tying the sash as neatly as he could.
But before the silence could settle, his stomach growled. Loudly.
Rumble!
It was long, deep, and unmistakable. It was as if a metal monster was crying for some oil and fuel.
Lini sighed and frowned even more. “Seriously?”
“I guess I’m hungry,” Aksai said, still scratching his head with a sheepish grin.
Lini shook her head but her lips twitched like she was fighting a smile. “Alright, give me a few minutes. I’ll fix you a meal.”
She turned around and walked toward the other side of the farmhouse, where the kitchen was. Her steps were brisk, but there was a slight bounce in her pace that hadn’t been there before.
Lini had to say that Aksai had given her quite a surprise. She was quite skeptical of her future with Aksai. After all, he had almost forcefully made her cut off her connections with the Green Glory sect. As such, she was worried that she might never be able to grow as a Spirit cultivator, forever being Aksai’s little maid exclusively inside the Everwood Farm.
However, after seeing and understanding the way he made progress, Lini realized that she had struck a metaphorical gold mine. Aksai was way more impressive than even the Green Glory Lord or any other Core Formation Lord in the Dadangar Subcontinent for that matter.
As such, Lini got rid of her initial inhibitions and completely accepted her role. As long as Aksai’s thigh was golden, she was ready to hold it and never let it go.

A little while later, Aksai found himself sitting outside the farmhouse, under the soft light of the morning sun. A table had been set up on the open porch, and before him, plates of delicious food were being placed one after another.
There was roasted Spirit fish, their scales still glowing faintly with mysterious light. These were 1st Order Spirit fish, carefully cultivated in the isolated ponds of the Enchanted Everwood Farm.
A golden-brown Flesh Pumpkin Pie sat in the middle, steam rising from its thick crust. The scent was sweet, earthy, and made his stomach growl again.
Spirit fruits of different colors and shapes filled small bowls, some sliced, some whole. There were spirit grains cooked with glowing herbs, soft bread buns with butter, and even a few rare snacks made from local enchanted mushrooms.
Yelia helped Lini arrange the dishes, floating them gently onto the table using thin strands of Spirit essence. She served the food to Aksai one by one, placing each item carefully in front of him.
Aksai didn’t wait long. He picked up a Spirit fish, tore into it, and closed his eyes as the rich, savory flavor spread in his mouth. The fish meat melted on his tongue, full of nourishing essence. He took a bite of the pumpkin pie next and groaned in delight.
He also realized something very unique at this point.
“My appetite’s gone wild,” he said between mouthfuls. “Must be the breakthrough in my Qi cultivation. Everything tastes ten times better now.”
Lini sat down beside him, watching with a satisfied smile as he dug in. Yelia poured him a cup of Spirit tea, and the three of them ate together, quietly celebrating his breakthroughs in both Qi and Aether paths.
As Aksai reached for another bun, he paused.
A few steps away from the porch, near the edge of the tree line, a group of small demon bears stood in a line, watching the table with wide, shiny eyes. Their noses twitched. Drool dripped from the sides of their mouths. But they didn’t move any closer.
The little bears were clearly hungry, but hesitant. Every now and then, one of them would glance at Aksai and then look away quickly, as if unsure whether they were allowed to be there.
Aksai laughed, wiping his mouth. “Ah, those little guys.”
He remembered how he had found them. Orphaned during the fight with the Verdant Elder, these demon bear cubs had been hiding in a mountain cave. If he hadn’t pulled them out when the Elder was distracted, they wouldn’t be alive today.
Aksai had plans to do some bloodline experiments on the little demon bears. But he decided that he would not treat them as disposable “guinea pigs” while doing that. And of course, all of those experiments could wait for a while.
He looked at Yelia. “Bring them here.”
Yelia raised her brows, then smiled and snapped her fingers.
Scraaa!
The little bears yelped in surprise as they suddenly lifted into the air. They flailed their stubby paws, growling in panic, but before they could do much else, Yelia waved her hand again.
Swoosh. Zoom. Bind.
Soft chairs made of twisted vines and wood rose from the ground around the table.
The bears were gently placed in the chairs, now seated directly across from Aksai. Of course, because they were bears, they sat awkwardly. If not for Yelia supporting their posture, they would have left their seats as soon as they sat.
The little bears’ eyes were wide with shock. They looked at the table full of food, then at Aksai, then back at the food again.
Aksai laughed. “Little bears, do you want to eat with me?”
The bears growled quietly, trying to look brave. But then their stomachs betrayed them, rumbling one by one like drums in a row. Incidentally, their collective stomach rumbling sound was quite similar to what Aksai had produced not too long ago.
If you are alive, you need to eat, huh? Life is fair in all its affairs, even when it is seemingly unfair to all of us at some point. These little bears lost their parents. I wonder if I could be a good bear mama.
Aksai sighed, amused, and looked at Yelia.
She nodded, understanding immediately. She floated small platters of food toward the little bears, placing them gently in front of each cub. Lini joined in too, handing out portions with a smile that she tried to hide.
“Eat,” Aksai said, grinning.
He watched as the cubs sniffed the food, then looked at each other. As demon bears, they were certainly more intelligent and cunning than their mortal counterparts. A moment passed… then they dove in.
Aksai leaned back in his chair, sipping his tea as he watched the chaos unfold on the other side of the table. The little bears were messy eaters, but happy. Their short tails wagged. They munched and licked and chewed with full focus.
The Spirit farmer smiled.
For the first time in a while, everything felt calm. His expedition in the Duya Forest was a huge success despite various detours he was forced to take.
Although he had learned many dangerous things about the Eternal Beast Dynasty and made aware of the existence of many powerful entities currently residing in it after digesting the Verdant Elder’s memories, there was no cause of concern for the near future. At least not for him.
As such, Aksai didn’t think too much about the complications regarding the Eternal Beast Dynasty.
He enjoyed a peaceful atmosphere, good food, good company, and the feeling of finally making progress.
He let himself enjoy it.
