A Journey That Changed The World

Chapter 1421: The 1st Will Be Leading The Charge

Archer and Aeliana continued making love until the Cave Spider Queen fell into a pleasure-filled daze. She slumped onto the sofa while muttering in an exhausted tone. ’’Let me catch my breath, handsome.’’

He slapped her sweat covered ass, replying. ’’That’s fine, it’s your first time after all.’’

Following that, he stood up and stepped close to the railing that overlooked the eastern walls’ defences. Just then, more artillery strikes slammed against the mage’s shield, causing him to grow annoyed.

With a wave, he summoned a horde of Venomwings and ordered them to hunt down the enemies who kept firing at the wall. The creatures agreed before flying off, allowing him to use Mana Manipulation to see through one of their eyes.

A Venomwing Guardian sliced through the cold air and started to descend toward the canopy, and entered it. While flying, it dodged the trees and other things while searching for its master’s enemies.

Ten minutes later, the sudden loss of several scouts sent a ripple of alarm through the swarm. The Guardians converged, their wings thrumming as they plummeted toward the source of the disturbance.

Emerging from the canopy, they spotted ten gleaming cannons arranged in a menacing line, surrounded by hundreds of humans, lion Demi-humans, and Fire Elves whose eyes glowed like embers.

Chaos erupted as the Venomwings started attacking and picking off the enemy soldiers. Each one moved like a living blade, their razor-sharp mandibles and venom-laced tails slashing through armor and flesh.

Screams pierced the chaos as soldiers fell, their defenses crumbling under the relentless assault. A lion Demi-human roared, swinging a massive axe, only to be swarmed by three creatures, their stingers piercing his hide before he collapsed in a heap.

Fire Elves unleashed torrents of flame, but the agile creatures evaded, retaliating with venom that burned through their veins. Simultaneously, the larger Guardians, their hulking forms, targeted the line of ten cannons.

Their armored bodies glistened like obsidian as they dove, undeterred by the volleys of cannonfire. One Guardian smashed into a cannon, its barbed tail shattering the barrel into twisted metal.

Another unleashed a corrosive mist from its maw, melting the iron of two more cannons into slag as human gunners fled in terror. The remaining cannons fired desperately and bounced off the Guardian’s thick exoskeletons, deflecting the blasts.

With a synchronized assault, they crushed the last of the artillery, their powerful limbs reducing the once-formidable weapons to smoking wreckage. Minutes later, bodies were strewn across the blood-soaked ground, while the cannons smoldered in ruin.

The Venomwings and Guardians rose into the sky, their mission complete, leaving only eerie silence and the faint hum of their wings in the wake of their merciless victory.

Archer opened his eyes, muttering. ’’I need to thank Jasmine for these powerful monsters; they’ll come in handy in the upcoming war.’’

Following that, Elara appeared on the balcony with a concerned expression. ’’What were those explosions, Arch?’’ she questioned.

’’I sent some of my monsters out to destroy those cannons,’’ he revealed with a pleased look on his face. ’’Dispatch some soldiers to collect the scraps, the Venomwings will protect them from the surrounding monsters.’’

The redhead nodded before he continued. ’’What legions are here to invade the Goldenmane Empire?’’

’’The 30th to the 40th, and the 1st will be leading the charge, my love,’’ she answered.

’’That’s a lot of soldiers,’’ he said while glancing out at the nearby jungle.

Elara agreed, nodding. ’’Yes, it is. The lion people of the east are a tough bunch, and I believe we’ll lose some battles along the way, so I ordered more legions to Avidia.’’

Archer’s smile grew wide before inquiring. ’’How many legions do we have now? Aisha mentioned recruitment has dried up?’’

’’That’s correct, and to answer the first question, three hundred and twelve armies are ready to be deployed,’’ she revealed.

He was shocked at the number but nodded proudly, speaking. ’’Enough legions to last the rest of the war if we use them carefully. Once we take Avidia and Pluoria, we’ll take the last two before hitting Verdantia, though all this could take years.’’

Elara smiled as she reassured him. ’’We can do it, husband, between your monsters, legions, and other forces, the Alliance will fall sooner or later.’’

Following that, Archer spotted a cohort of Legionnaires heading toward the cannon site, prompting him to order the Venomwings to protect them. Seconds later, the dragonfly-like monsters appeared.

By now, the soldiers had grown accustomed to the presence of the creatures as they realized the beasts posed no threat to them. The sight of them weaving among the troops, almost protective in their demeanor, brought a bright laugh from Elara.

’’It never ceases to amaze me,’’ she said, her voice warm with delight, ’’How your creatures treat them like kin, as if they belong to the same pack.’’

Archer looked at the redhead and nodded. ’’Because I ordered them not to harm them years ago, and the Monarchs know this. I’ll use the hordes to clear the way through the jungle when you head east.’’

’’Sounds good to me,’’ Elara answered. ’’They did a good job taking our new lands alongside the legions.’’

Once that was agreed to, the couple continued to talk as Aeliana slept peacefully, letting out adorable snores. Archer chuckled at this before sending her to his room in the Domain as the moon shone above.

He stood up and asked, looking at Elara. ’’Are you staying on the wall? Or do you want to come back to the treehouse?’’

The redhead smiled at his offer, responding. ’’I’ll stay here, handsome, I want to oversee everything and ensure the Alliance can’t sneak up on us.’’

Following that, he said his goodbyes and teleported to the Domain, where he appeared in his room. The fireplace was alive thanks to the Brownies, he noticed the spider queen curled up under the covers.

Without waiting, he joined Aeliana, who cuddled up to him as he scanned the rest of the treehouse. Archer soon realized the rest of the women were fast asleep, but suddenly, Sera appeared just above him.

He caught the dragon smiling, causing the brown-skinned beauty to giggle. ’’Hello there, handsome, it’s good to see you,’’ she greeted.

Moments later, Archer felt beck onto the bed while holding onto her perky ass as she got closer by snuggling up on his chest. Just then, Aeliana grabbed his free arm and shoved it in between her cleavage.

This put him at ease as the two women started cuddling him while hiding from the cold air that was invading the room around them. The fire sent warmth across the room as he lit it again.

Archer soon fell asleep to the adorable snores of the spider queen. By the next morning, he was alone in bed, which confused him, but he scanned the treehouse only to find the women were in the kitchen.

He got out of bed and headed toward them while stretching his arms and sending a message to Elara. ’How are things out there?’

Seconds passed until the redhead replied. ’It’s quiet, too quiet that it’s creepy, Arch. Come out here when you can.’’

When Archer heard this, his eyes narrowed before sending a message to the other women guarding the two walls to the west. Minutes passed, and he got a reply that it was fine and nothing was happening.

’Are the Alliance trying to break through one wall?’ he thought.

Just then, he teleported to the kitchen, that surprised the women as Ella, Nefertiti, Teuila and Ayrenn was there. The six women greeted him as the High Elf commented. ’’I’m shocked Arch, you’ve created something special with Draconia.’’

’’Oh yes, its fun building an empire and making sure the people can survive,’’ he replied by sitting down and getting comfortable.

Ella beamed before giving him a cup of tea with a sweet smile. ’’Here you go, handsome. This will keep you warm on this cold morning.’’

’’Thank you, El,’’ he responded.

Moments later, Nefertiti spoke in a fed-up voice. ’’I hope the winter comes to an end soon, the cold is annoying now.’’

When the others heard this, Teuila answered. ’’Should be a couple of months, we’re getting into the storm phase of the year.’’

The group of women sighed, causing Archer to offer. ’’I can change the Domain to summer if you like. But it will still be cold outside.’’

Ayrenn shook her head, firmly dismissing the suggestion. ’’It’s wiser to maintain things as they are,’’ she said. ’’Our bodies will adapt to this warmth, and we’ll be left vulnerable, suffering when we return to the harsh realities of the outside world.’’

Archer nodded along with the others as Elara’s voice echoed in his mind. ’The Alliance is attacking again, my love.’

When hearing this, he spoke to the group. ’’I have to go to the eastern wall, the enemy is back and being sneaky by attacking our defences.’’

The woman quickly hugged and kissed him before he teleported to the Dragonkin who was standing on the wall overlooking the battlefield.
