Chapter 1459: Giant Rhino Leader
Archer lay on Inara’s thighs, staring up at the night sky as the duo had been relaxing for hours, chatting about everyday life. He learned the lioness wanted a peaceful house in the countryside that he could visit.
’’Once the war calms down, I’ll create one for you and me,’’ he revealed. ’’I’ll make sure it has a training field as I know you love to train every day.’’
When the beautiful lioness heard this, her ears perked up, and her tail swayed left to right quickly as her happiness was obvious. She leaned down and gave him a passionate kiss, sending a shiver down his spine.
Following that, Archer sat up as Elara approached, looking exhausted, causing him to question. ’’Why do you go to sleep in the Domain? It’s quiet, safe, and peaceful.’’
She tried to wave him away, but monster screeches echoed across the landscape, prompting her to stop. His ears perked up as he heard a Monster Horde charging toward the fortress from the north.
’’Just go, Lara,’’ he said, standing up, stretching. ’’I’ll deal with the attack myself. I want to test out the Dark Termites against normal creatures who seem to be Giant Forest Rhinos.’’
The redheaded beauty nodded with a sweet smile before leaving for the Domain. Inara came close, her eyes gleaming with lust. ’’Be in my chambers before sunset,’’ she said, her voice full of need.
A shiver ran down his spine, and he agreed. ’’Of course, make sure you’re there.’’’
Moments later, she slipped through the portal, beaming at him as her tail swayed side to side in excitement. Left alone, he teleported to the wall encircling the stronghold. He called out for Jasmine, but her voice echoed in his mind.
’’I’ll send my warriors,’’ he declared, a spark of resolve in his voice. ’’A million are itching for a fight, and with the Domain’s no-fight ban, they’re raring to clash.’’
Seconds later, Archer ripped open another portal, and a swarm of Dark Termites poured out, their excited screeches piercing the air. They quickly formed ranks, their jagged limbs clicking in unison.
To his shock, several reared up and took flight, their buzzing wings casting shadows across the ground. Just then, the battlefield quaked under the weight of the Monster Horde’s charge, the Giant Forest Rhino’s thunderous hooves splitting the earth.
Their leader, a colossal beast with a horn like a siege weapon, roared a challenge that echoed across the wild expanse. Dust swirled, choking the air, as the horde barreled toward the writhing mass of Dark Termites.
The termites, a black tide of jagged limbs and snapping mandibles, answered with ear-splitting screeches. Above, their flying kin buzzed in chaotic spirals, wings thrumming like war drums.
Archer watched as the first collision was apocalyptic, rhino horns tore through termite ranks, sending shattered bodies skyward, while the insects’ relentless swarm clawed and bit, targeting gaps in the rhinos’ thick hides.
Flying termites dove like living spears, slashing at the flanks. One latched onto a beast’s side, ripping into flesh before a thrashing tail crushed it. Another rhino, blood streaming from gouged wounds, smashed through a cluster, trampling them into the dirt.
The aerial assault intensified, termites crashing into the enemies, some tangling in matted fur, others piercing skin with relentless bites. The Monster Horde’s leader, unyielding, scattered his monsters, its bellow shaking the ground.
Yet the Dark Termites reformed, their numbers an endless tide, overwhelming stragglers and crawling over fallen beasts. The air grew heavy with blood, and the metallic tang of splintered chitin, every scream and roar blending.
Archer watched from the wall, his violet eyes alight. The no-fight ban in the Domain had suppressed this primal fury, but here, in the untamed wild, the Dark Termites and Monster Horde clashed with unrestrained ferocity.
The battlefield was a maelstrom of chaos, the clash of Dark Termites and Monster Horde tearing the earth asunder with screeches and roars. Dust choked the air, mingling with the metallic tang of blood.
He noticed the pulse of battle igniting something primal within him. Below, the Giant Forest Rhino leader, a towering titan of muscle and horn, bulldozed through termite ranks, its bellows shaking the ground, its hide scarred but unyielding.
’Looks like no one apart from Jasmine and her Guardians can deal with those,’ he mused, excited.
Archer’s lips twisted into a savage grin, his blood singing with reckless hunger. ’’You’re mine,’’ he growled.
With a flicker of will, he teleported, reappearing mere feet from the charging beast. The rhino’s eyes locked onto him, its massive horn lowering as it thundered forward, the earth quaking beneath its weight.
His hands flexed, and razor-sharp dragon claws erupted from his fingers, glinting with a deadly sheen. Power surged through his body, muscles coiling as he launched himself at the beast.
The rhino swung its horn, but Archer twisted mid-air, his claws slashing across the body of the creature. Blood sprayed as he carved deep gashes into the beast’s flank, each strike a symphony of destruction, shredding thick hide like parchment.
While he went crazy, the watching soldiers, perched on the walls, gasped in horror and awe, their faces pale. Even the Dark Termites faltered, their screeches quieting as they watched his ferocity.
Archer was no warrior, he was a monster unleashed. With a guttural roar, he leaped onto the rhino’s back, claws sinking into its flesh to anchor himself. The beast thrashed, its bellows turning to pained shrieks, but he was relentless.
His jaws parted, revealing elongated, draconic fangs that gleamed thanks to mana running throughout his body. In a single motion, he sank his teeth into the rhino’s spine, biting down with bone-crushing force.
A sickening crack echoed across the battlefield as the vertebrae snapped in two. The beast’s massive body collapsing in a twitching heap, blood pooling beneath it. He rose, his claws dripping, his chest heaving as he stood over the ruined corpse.
Draconians stared, frozen, their whispers swallowed by the silence that followed. The Dark Termites skittered back, their instincts recoiling from the primal terror before them. His gaze swept the battlefield, his blood-streaked face a mask of wild triumph.
He had torn the rhino leader to pieces, his dragon claws and fangs rendering it a broken relic of its former might, and in that moment, he was a monster that struck fear into all who witnessed his wrath.
Archer’s strength was relentless. Gripping the beast’s skull, his muscles bulged as he wrenched with monstrous force, tearing the head clean off in a gruesome explosion of sinew and bone.
Moments later, he hurled the massive head. It crashed at the feet of the surviving rhinos, the impact sending a shockwave through the dirt. Their eyes widened in terror, but they had no time to flee.
Following that, Archer moved like a storm of death, his claws descended upon them. One by one, he butchered the survivors, slashing throats, severing limbs, and splitting torsos in a whirlwind of gore.
Their roars turned to gurgled screams, drowned out by the savagery of his assault. Within moments, the survivors were reduced to a scattered heap of broken bodies, the ground a canvas of blood and ruin.
From a hidden vantage atop a nearby ridge, Nemuia Darkthrone, first princess of the Darkthrone Empire, watched in horrified disbelief. Her red eyes, wide with shock, reflected the carnage below.
The Giant Forest Rhino leader, a beast fabled to end empires, had been brutalized, its head torn off by a man younger than her, his power a terrifying mystery. Her heart pounded, her breath catching as she witnessed his monstrous display.
She turned, her cloak whipping in the wind, and sprinted toward her warhorse, her mind racing with dread. ’’Father must know,’’ she whispered as she mounted and spurred the beast into a gallop.
The image of Archer standing amidst the carnage, blood-drenched and unyielding, seared into her soul. The Darkthrone Empire faced a new threat, a young man who had just obliterated an Empire-ending beast with his bare hands.
While the Demoness rushed back to the capital, Archer ordered his soldiers to drag the bodies inside for food. Giant Forest Rhino meat was delicious, and he wanted his soldiers to eat well.
Moments later, commands rang out, and Drakeguards poured from the fortress, swiftly gathering supplies. He remained, observing, as a bold new plan took shape to ensure Draconia’s prosperity.
’Aisha!’ he messaged the Dragonkin. ’Ensure the schools teach our history and Draconia’s role in uplifting the world.’
It only took her a few seconds to answer. ’I don’t think you realize how loyal the younger generations are to your husband. You’re a God Killer, a White Dragon, the man who brought peace and order to their lives.’
Archer was silent at this, but Aisha continued. ’You’ve uplifted billions out of poverty and gave them reasons to exist beyond supplying for their local lords. I’m afraid its too late but you’ve gone and created a cult.’
’Huh? What do you mean?’ he replied.
