Chapter 1036: Chapter 1036: Dream Big
Ye Qiuqiu was afraid of disturbing Lin Gantang and the baby’s rest and did not stay long before she wanted to head back. Lin Gantang got up to see her off but was pressed down by Ye Qiuqiu, “You haven’t gotten out of confinement yet, where do you think you’re going? Lie back down and take care of yourself for me.”
She chuckled, “Speaking of which, the driver I saw downstairs was kind of handsome.”
Lin Gantang, who was pushed back onto the bed, raised her hand to make an OK sign, indicating she got it and would arrange it.
After Ye Qiuqiu went downstairs, Lin Gantang got up and walked to the balcony to look down.
Ye Qiuqiu seemed to sense something and looked up, waving at her with a smile.
The setting sun cast an orange-red glow across the sky, and the last rays of sunlight shone on Ye Qiuqiu, making her seem to glow.
...Lin Gantang sent her a flying kiss, and the person downstairs made a heart sign, laughing freely.
Lin Gantang leaned on her hand, watching as the driver took her away, then pulled out her phone to text Lin Zhaonan, “Bro, you’re the greatest decision-maker.”
“You’ve saved hundreds and thousands of mothers from confusion.”
“You’re the embodiment of humanity; you’re a model for entrepreneurs!”
Lin Zhaonan on the other end replied with several question marks, confused, “Need money?”
Then quickly sent another message, “So I’m Yanqing’s role model?”
Lin Gantang replied to him, “You’re also an outstanding dreamer.”
A dreamer with big dreams.
Lin Gantang coldly and mercilessly crushed his fantasy.
After the child was born, Lin Gantang felt the days flying by.
It seemed in the blink of an eye, the baby had grown a bit more.
Concerning Suisui’s full name, the couple pondered and pondered, and Wen Yanqing wrote down every name they liked on paper for selection.
One day, as Lin Gantang passed by the study, she saw Wen Rendong flipping through a thick-as-brick dictionary, not moving from his spot for a long time, though how long exactly, she didn’t know.
She went to her room to ask Wen Yanqing, “Did you ask Dad to help choose a name for Suisui?”
“No,” said Wen Yanqing. “Don’t mind him, we’ll name our daughter ourselves.”
They had thought of several names, each infused with the couple’s love and expectation.
At dinner time, Lin Gantang mentioned that they had to register the household soon and didn’t know which name to use. She joked, “Might as well let Suisui choose for herself.”
“Then let her pick on her own.” Wen Yanqing decided, concise and to the point.
Wen Rendong glanced over at them several times.
After dinner, Lin Gantang folded the small pieces of paper with names on them into tiny little balls and placed them on the table.
Just then, Aunt Zhong came over to ask, “Ma’am, Mr. Lin has brought something over. Would you like to have a look?”
“My brother?” Lin Gantang put down what she was working on, picked up Suisui, and said, “Let’s go see uncle together.”
As she walked out of the room, Lin Gantang saw Wen Rendong pacing with his hands behind his back and greeted him with a smile.
“Go ahead,” Wen Rendong advised. “Should we have Zhaonan stay a bit longer before leaving? A friend just gave me a nice set of fishing gear; take it and give it to him, and tell him to bring it to your dad.”
After Lin Gantang nodded, he again addressed the receding figures of mother and daughter, “Stay a bit longer, it’s rare for him to come by.”
“Got it, Dad,” Lin Gantang said loudly.
Wen Rendong looked downstairs a couple of times, saw that no one else was coming up, and quickly turned around.
By the time Wen Yanqing finished his temporary video conference, Lin Zhaonan had already left.
He saw that Lin Gantang had already prepared the names and scooped up the four tiny paper balls into his palm.
Wen Rendong stood to the left of Suisui, admiring his little granddaughter.
Hey, her chubby cuteness was just irresistible; he had to take another look.
Wen Yanqing opened his palm and placed it under Suisui’s small hand, which clumsily moved, and she happened to scratch one of the paper balls.
Lin Gantang looked forward eagerly, “Open it up quickly.”
Wen Yanqing lodged his finger to pick it out, but couldn’t successfully retrieve the paper ball, “She’s holding on so tight.”
“She must really like this name,” Lin Gantang said.
