Sixth Uncle’s family is returning home, and their beloved daughter, Qin Tiantian, has finally finished her exams.

Everyone had originally planned to go to the airport to pick them up today, but Sixth Uncle mentioned that their clothes were not seasonally appropriate and decided to make a stop to buy some before heading back to the ancestral home. Thus, there was no need for the family to accompany them. They would see everyone at the ancestral home later. The family members all have rather carefree and relaxed personalities.

Since Qin Tiantian had finished her exams, the other young people in the family pulled her into their younger generation chat group.

As soon as she joined, Qin Tiantian started sending a flurry of emojis, fully expressing her joy at being set free, like a little bird.

It seems the exams had nearly driven this eighteen-year-old girl to the brink of a breakdown. She is the youngest child in her generation, even younger than Qin Jiaxi by a year.

Due to her studies, Qin Tiantian had been extremely busy since enrolling in a women’s academy, which had been largely a closed environment. As a result, she and Qin Jiaxi didn’t keep in touch much, meeting only once a year.

In the past, Qin Jiaxi’s happiest moments were when Qin Tiantian returned home. Qin Tiantian is a cheerful, outgoing, and lively girl, a textbook extrovert who gets along well with everyone.

Ji Fei noticed Qin Tiantian tagging her and exclaiming excitedly, “Second Sister-in-Law, I absolutely have to see you first thing when I get back!”

Ji Fei was puzzled: “Huh? Why?”

Qin Zhao chimed in mischievously: “Is it because you want to see firsthand the incredible woman who managed to snag your dreamy older brother?”

Qin Tiantian: “Hehe, I already knew! I’ve watched all your variety shows! I’m now a member of the Fei Faction!”

Ji Fei was so embarrassed she didn’t know what to reply, so she just sent a string of ellipses.

The group in the living room burst into laughter.

She had thought that everyone would at most take a passing interest, knowing the situation. Those who didn’t watch variety shows or pay attention to entertainment, like the other siblings, would know about her and Qin Zhao’s past appearance on a variety show and might have seen some performance clips, but they wouldn’t delve into the trending memes and hot searches.

But it was clear that Qin Tiantian was different.

“Do you know why she’s so obsessed with you?” Qin Zhao asked with a mysterious smile.

“Why?” Ji Fei asked, curious.

Qin Rong burst out laughing and explained to Ji Fei: “It’s because Tiantian met Second Brother when she was little and insisted every day that she would marry him when she grew up, claiming he was her male god (ultimate crush). But as she grew up, she realized that dream was never going to come true, so she was heartbroken. My Second Brother… he’s even hard to resist for his own relatives.”

Qin Rong got a light knock on the head from Qin Xian beside her.

“Don’t tease your sister-in-law like that.”

Everyone else couldn’t stop laughing.

It was evident that the others had often heard similar stories in the past. Qin Tiantian had been a huge fan of Qin Xian.

This was the first time Ji Fei had seen the whole family so delighted by someone’s return. Qin Tiantian was truly a ray of sunshine.

As they were all enjoying the moment, a voice excitedly asked, “Is it that Miss Tiantian is coming back?”

The Qin family is generally kind to their household staff, so when Aunt Mao suddenly interrupted, the family members didn’t mind and just smiled, replying, “Yes.”

“That’s wonderful, I need to prepare her favorite desserts,” she said and quickly rushed off to get busy.

Ji Fei looked at her eldest cousin, Qin Wenqiang, with a puzzled expression.

Qin Wenqiang explained, “Aunt Mao has been with the Qin family for a long time. When she first started, she was in charge of taking care of Sixth Uncle’s family. Tiantian was often under her care, so she’s very fond of her.”

With the topic shifted, everyone continued chatting.

In the afternoon, the sound of a car was heard outside.

Everyone hurried out and soon saw a car pulling in. One of the windows was open, and a head poked out, looking around. Seeing a group of people standing there, she immediately started excitedly waving.

Her exuberant energy was like that of a little sun, instantly endearing.

As soon as the car stopped, Qin Tiantian couldn’t wait to get out, rushing over. Her parents, who had also gotten out of the car, watched her with a mix of helplessness and affection, reminding her, “Slow down.”

Qin Tiantian dashed toward the most beautiful woman standing in the middle, next to her crush, shouting, “Fei Jie! Oh, no, Sister-in-Law! I finally see you! I want your autograph, a photo together, I want—”

As Qin Tiantian rushed over, Ji Fei thought she was going to hug her, but the girl seemed to have some tact, unsure if the other person would appreciate the enthusiasm. At the last second, she changed the hug into a handshake.

She held Ji Fei’s hand and kept shaking it, unknowingly indulging in a bit of playful teasing that made Ji Fei unable to resist.

In the family, only Qin Jiaxi and Qin Rong were younger than her, and both were quieter, making her first encounter with such vibrant enthusiasm a unique experience.

“Alright, alright, I’ll fulfill all your requests. Nice to meet you too, Tiantian,” Ji Fei said with a smile.

The other siblings were also very happy to see her and reminded her not to focus solely on Ji Fei and to greet everyone properly.

Qin Tiantian then went through the motions of greeting everyone in order.

But when she saw Qin Xian, she sighed, “Oh, Second Brother is even more handsome now. It’s only going to get harder for me to find a boyfriend.”

Qin Xian remained calm and composed, but everyone else burst into laughter, teasing Qin Tiantian for comparing her future boyfriend to Qin Xian, which was just setting herself up for heartbreak. They joked that she might end up never getting married.

Just then, Sixth Uncle Qin and Sixth Aunt arrived.

Qin Tiantian quipped, “Well, I might as well just mooch off my parents for life, sticking to them and living as a pampered princess forever.”

Sixth Uncle Qin tapped Qin Tiantian’s head. “Now that’s ambition.”

Sixth Aunt giggled, “Fine, we’ll take care of you forever.”

The family members all greeted the elders, creating a harmonious atmosphere, and Ji Fei confirmed that the Sixth Uncle’s family was in good spirits.

This only deepened the genuine smiles on the faces of the Second Brother’s family.

There were voices coming from the main building, and everyone prepared to move over together.

Suddenly, Aunt Mao rushed over, exclaiming, “Miss Tiantian, you’re back! Oh, let me see you, you’ve changed so much in a year! You’ve grown taller, and even more beautiful!”

Truthfully, the interruption felt a bit out of place at that moment.

However, everyone was in a good mood and didn’t mind.

Qin Tiantian happily greeted Aunt Mao, and Sixth Uncle and Sixth Aunt also exchanged pleasantries, though it was clear Aunt Mao was quite perfunctory towards the couple. Her affection for Tiantian, on the other hand, seemed almost too intense, with tears in her eyes. It was a bit over-the-top.

Ji Fei couldn’t help but joke, “It feels like she’s treating her as her own daughter.”

“Maybe because Tiantian is so lovable.”

“After all, she’s watched her grow up.”

Apparently accustomed to such situations, the Sixth Uncle’s family didn’t feel awkward, though others began to feel uncomfortable and reminded Aunt Mao that the elders were waiting.

Only then did Aunt Mao come to her senses and awkwardly mentioned that she had prepared Tiantian’s favorite dessert and would come find her later.

Qin Tiantian smiled and replied, “I’ve also brought gifts for you and Little Yi. Is Little Yi coming today? It’s been so long since I’ve seen her.”

Aunt Mao’s expression momentarily turned unnatural, and she gave a perfunctory smile.
