Chapter 1390: Chapter 1154: The Story of the Prince_2
Hu Ji didn’t speak.
He kept reading.
Reading and reading.
Suddenly, Hu Ji’s heart skipped a beat, and he blurted out instinctively: “How is that possible!”
Moody is dead!
Mad-Eye Moody!
Dumbledore’s friend!
That righteous and reliable Auror!
The group chat hanging there exploded once again as expected:
“No way!”
“Moody is dead?”
“Voldemort did it himself!?”
“Damn, wasn’t it supposed to be one death per book!?”
“Sacrificing Hedwig wasn’t enough; now they have to add Moody’s death?”
“No.”
“The tradition of Harry Potter is one death per book. Hedwig is just an owl, so it doesn’t count under that rule.”
“Bullshit!”
“Hedwig may be an owl, but to me, she’s as important as any other character!”
“Accept it, this is the old rascal.”
“This is the cost of not killing off the three main characters.”
“While it’s an uncomfortable thing to say, if someone had to die, Moody’s death is arguably better than the three main characters dying.”
“Things will get better from here.”
“Voldemort will die, Snape must die too!”
Amid depression.
The readers were overwhelmed with rage.
Hu Ji saw the group chat and sighed powerlessly.
Indeed.
Snape revealed the Order of the Phoenix’s plan from the start, letting Voldemort know they intended to move Harry.
It was Snape who indirectly caused the deaths of Hedwig and Moody.
But as the group members said.
Hedwig is dead. Moody is dead. What comes next will certainly go smoother.
…
Sure enough.
The journey grew much smoother after this.
The good side stopped losing people.
The villain Peter Pettigrew was killed by Voldemort!
Though before he died, Pettigrew seemed to feel regret and guilt for betraying Harry Potter’s father, but this couldn’t cover up the fact that he was one of the culprits behind Harry Potter’s parents’ deaths!
“Good riddance!”
“I hate when villains have a moment of repentance and are then forgiven.”
“Pettigrew deserved to die!”
“He didn’t just ruin the lives of Harry Potter’s family; he also killed Cedric!”
“Evil begets evil.”
“Anyone who works for Voldemort should expect this fate!”
“Is Snape dead yet?”
“I’m just waiting for Snape to punch the clock now!”
“Even if Snape feels remorse like Peter Pettigrew, he still must die. I can never forgive him!”
“If he feels regret, that makes his death even sweeter to me!”
“Let him die in regret, just like Pettigrew!”
Everyone released some pent-up emotions through Pettigrew’s death.
But clearly.
The real source of their anger hadn’t been dealt with yet.
In terms of hatred levels, Snape ranks almost alongside the utterly despicable Voldemort!
At this, Hu Ji sighed again.
…
The reading continued.
Every time an important plot twist occurred, it stirred up strong emotional waves.
For instance, when Snape became the headmaster of Hogwarts.
The youngest headmaster in history.
But the readers were unimpressed.
“This is the reward for killing Dumbledore?”
“Ha ha.”
“The headmaster of Hogwarts can only be Dumbledore!”
“I refuse to accept anyone else.”
“When will this guy just die?”
“Huh?”
“Oh crap!”
“Damn you, Chu Kuang!”
“Another one is dead!”
Amid countless readers’ despairing screams, the house-elf Dobby sacrificed himself heroically for Harry Potter during a battle, his chest pierced by Bellatrix!
Dobby!
The house-elf who, from his very first appearance, always wanted to protect Harry Potter, had died just like that!
The house-elf Harry Potter had helped to achieve freedom!
In his final moments.
Dobby’s last words were: “Harry…Pot…ter…”
At that moment of their first meeting.
Dobby’s first words were also: “Harry…Potter!”
It felt like going back to the day they first met.
Harry personally dug the earth to bury Dobby near the Shell Cottage and erected a headstone inscribed with: [Here lies Dobby, a free elf.]
At that moment.
The readers were completely shattered!
“Old rascal!”
“What does he even want!?”
“Hedwig is dead, Moody is dead, and now Dobby has to die too!?”
“Wasn’t it supposed to be one death per book?”
“For God’s sake, stick to your tradition and keep it to one death per book!”
“That’s three now, already three!”
“In the old rascal’s mind, is Dobby not considered a person because he’s an elf, and Hedwig not counted because she’s an owl?”
“I’m losing it!”
“I’m afraid to keep reading!”
“But I must read!”
“I have to keep going!”
“The dawn is near!”
“What dawn is left?”
“Snape! Snape is the one who dies next!”
It turns out some readers who read faster had already reached Snape’s death chapter!
At that moment.
The gloom was instantly dissipated halfway, and some readers even cheered aloud!
“Finally feeling better!”
“The old rascal finally did something right!”
“My eyes are already numb from crying, just waiting for Snape to punch the clock!”
“He’s already dead?”
“I haven’t gotten to it yet. What chapter? Speeding up now!”
“Chapter thirty-two!”
“Dead by thirty-two, great news indeed!”
“Calling it great news—are you serious?”
“I’m going to read that chapter twice for sure!”
“Almost couldn’t keep going earlier, but now I’m motivated again; Snape’s finally dead!”
“Revenge achieved, revenge achieved!”
…
Meanwhile.
Hu Ji also reached Snape’s death.
Unlike other readers, who were excited and jubilant.
For some reason, his heart clenched painfully.
Snape was killed by Voldemort.
It felt like fate.
Previously, Peter Pettigrew had also died at Voldemort’s hands.
More precisely, Voldemort’s snake had killed him.
But the reason Voldemort killed Snape was utterly ridiculous.
Simply because:
Voldemort believed that since Snape killed Dumbledore, he had become the master of the Elder Wand.
By the rules.
Killing Snape would make him the new master of the Elder Wand.
Even though Snape pledges loyalty to him and personally killed Dumbledore.
Harry, wearing the Invisibility Cloak, witnessed Snape’s death in secret.
After Voldemort left.
Harry approached Snape.
He didn’t understand why he was doing it, why he approached this dying man.
He couldn’t explain the feeling in his heart as he saw Snape’s pale face and his fingers trying to stop the blood flowing from his neck.
Taking off the Invisibility Cloak.
Harry looked down at the man he despised.
Snape’s wide, black eyes caught sight of Harry; he tried to speak.
Harry leaned closer, and Snape suddenly grasped the front of Harry’s robe, pulling him toward himself.
“Take…them…Take…them…”
Alongside blood, something else was leaking out of Snape.
Silver-blue, not gas or liquid, flowed out of his mouth, ears, and eyes.
Harry knew what it was.
They were memories.
Snape’s memories.
Yet he didn’t know what to do.
Then, a conjured long-necked bottle was pressed into his shaking hands by Hermione.
Harry used his wand to collect the silver substance inside.
When the bottle was filled, Snape looked as if he’d lost all his blood, the hand gripping Harry’s robe loosening.
“Look…at…me…”
Snape murmured softly, making one final request.
Green eyes met black ones.
A second later.
Something deep within those dim black eyes seemed to disappear, leaving behind emptiness, blankness, and hollowness.
The hand clutching Harry fell to the floor with a thud.
Snape never moved again.
Hu Ji’s heart felt as if a piece had been carved out, and despite everything, he realized he truly couldn’t hate Snape.
Sigh.
Hu Ji sighed for the third time and absentmindedly turned to the next chapter.
Suddenly.
His pupils contracted, and his trembling hand froze mid-turn as his entire body shot to his feet, as if his worldview had completely imploded!
It was Chapter 33 of *Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.*
The chapter’s title was *The Prince’s Tale.*

PS: This isn’t to break the chapter; I truly wanted to write it all in one go, and even stayed up late for it, but realized the section got slightly long. It’s hard to skip content in the finale, so bear with it, everyone.
