We resumed our walk in the early morning, after a short breakfast. The researchers didn't seem to take the journey well, even at such an early stage. They all were grumpy, and in pain from spending the night through the night in sleeping bags, straight on the ground. I didn't sleep at all, keeping watch.

- You could just teleport us closer, couldn't you? - asked Sanders, as we started moving forward.

- I'm not doing that.

- Why? - asked Tihana.

- Because I dint want to advertise to everybody my abilities, and a bit of walking will be good for you, young lady. You will learn to appreciate your father and his cool abilities.

- If I tell you how cool you are, are you gonna teleport us? - she asked.

- Nope.

- How about me? - asked Nil. - If I tell you that you are cool, will you teleport us?

- Nope.

- Come on, Peter. Don't be a dick.

- Watch your mouth around my daughter, she is too innocent for such profound language - I warned him.

Tihana snorted.

- I'm cringing so hard right now, paps.

- Me too - Sanders agreed with her immediately.

- Oh, I see what's going on here. You two are teaming up against me, but unfortunately for you, I'm too big of a chad right now, so give up before I spank both of your asses.

- Bawk! - Tam joined my little warning.

- Exactly - I agreed with him.

 - Wow... You learned the chicken language? - Nil was surprised.

- I'm ascended super-being. I know everything - I replied to that.

- He is just taking every noise Tam makes to his advantage - explained Tihana.

This bickering continued until we finally took the first break. Then I left those two and went to talk with Alice, Ki'rai, and Nadzieja, who were walking a bit ahead of us, closer to the researchers.

We didn't chat for too long though.

Somehow the whole day passed. On the next one, we managed to reach the ogre cave. Ki'rai led us straight at it, so Martin and Hailwic had to deal with the two guards. They moved ahead and engaged them before the whole group got closer.

Martin swung his giant morgenstern, smashing one of the trees as the weapon moved through the air, and then another one, as the heavyweight of the spiked ball not only crushed the ribcage of the ogre but also pushed his body into collision with the tree trunk.

There was a bit of panic, as both of them fell with a loud cracking noise. In the meantime, Hailwic with ease chopped the other one to pieces.

Both crystals ended up on their cart, and we kept moving, although we had to circle around the fallen vegetation.

There was not much going on after that. At some point, when we were having a short stopover, Vladimir Fedorov actually came to talk with me. He was curious why I was avoiding him, and why I didn't give them the promised books. I had to lie to him why, and told him that I'm translating one of the books, and will give it to him later, so he can start working with it and learning the language.

He then informed me of their plan to use the device to learn the alien languages, as soon as it would be possible. I doubted that the army of the USA or India would waste a precious class point on any of them, but I didn't tell him that.

It took us three days to finally get out of the woods, and reach toe hills filled with giants. We stopped there because we needed a whole day to sneak past the monsters on the edge of their territory. Plus we needed to reorganize the whole caravan since the formation we have been traveling through the forest before was too dangerous here, at least that's what was told to the researchers.

I was pretty confident at holding anything that could come at us by myself. My little group was sent on the right flank, so we sat there on the little folding chairs that I bought in the device, and stored in my vault. That was one of the dumbest things I could buy since the legs easily sunk into the ground beneath the grass, but still, we had something to seat on.

I gave Tihana two cans of tuna, a banana, and a bottle of water to eat. I had the same combo. Sanders on the other hand had some canned meat.

- Are you gonna turn into the demon form, and chase all the giants away when they will come? - she asked me as she was stuffing her face with food.

- No. I'm gonna throw a chicken at them.

Nil snorted so hard, that some of the meat came out of his nose.

- Fuck! - he shouted, getting attention from the rest of the camp.

We ignored him after one glance, as he stood up trying to pick ut the rest of the food out of his nose.

- I'm not letting you kill Tam! - she protested.

- Relax. Tam is a chicken warrior from the ancient line of chicken warriors. He has been born on the top of a mountain on a sunny day. A single lightning bolt struck the ground when he hatched out of his egg, indicating that something important had happened. Not to mention the fact that his mother was actually a phoenix.

- Stop laying - said Nil, as he finally sat back on his chair. - You summoned that animal yourself.

- Tam, were you summoned, or born from a phoenix? - I ashed the rooster.

- Bawk!

- See? Phoenix.

He again burst into a laugh and facepalmed.

- I'm not letting you throw him! - Tihana still protested.

She actually went to sleep angry at me. Holding the chicken tight, so I wouldn't take him. I on the other hand spent another sleepless night, planing my scheme. I gave it a code name of 'chicken grenade'.

I knew the very moment this idea appeared in my head, that it will be awesome.

This period of time came to an end with 24 330 290 points remaining on my account, and 21 class points.
