The morning was identical to the many previous ones. Me and Sudarshana had breakfast, then I took her to work.
The city has changed, It has been only a single day since the medics arrived, but they brought back something that I thought was partially gone, the crowded mornings. The city center was full of people. Lines to both access points and the device itself reminded me of how it used to be when we all could only shop using the sapling itself.
I couldn't take my eyes off the view on this beautiful sunny morning, because it was so nostalgic. Even Sudarshana noticed, and I had explained to her whats going on.
After she want to work, I swung by the training grounds. It got quite crowded with all these new people. I noticed Mihael in the sandpit, showing them how to fight, and Nadzieja, further, teaching archery.
I just spent there a moment, but just as I asserted walking back I bumped into agent Bharat Kumar.
- Good morning Peter- he greeted me. - I was just looking for you.
- For me? Why the hell do you need me for?
- Hatta is currently in talks with some people about the upcoming visit from other countries. I wanted to talk to you about that.
My eyebrows rose, so he continued:
- We don't want any scandal to happen during the visits, so the whole of India would be very thankful to you if you would personally oversee the safety of the guests.
- You want me to be a bodyguard?
- Yes.
- Do you realize that there is plenty of people here who could babysit those people? I have my shit to do.
- But all those people aren't you, are they? You are the most powerful in the city, and we just don't want to take any risks. I know Hatta is not going to ask you, so that's why I came.
- Pass - I said to him, and just passed by.
He sighed and didn't try to pursue me with his ridiculous request. I knew that I was gonna get involved anyway because of Tihana, but there was definitely no way I was gonna babysit those random people. I didn't give a shit that they were famous.
I left to do some work on the translation, and also focused a bit on writing. Then I returned to the city center to pick up Tihana from school. It was just a pretext to see Sudarshana, but also had a positive influence on the relationship between me and my daughter.
I had more or less figured the hours she was ending her lessons, so I managed to get there just as she was finished.
She came out all excited.
- I heard that the Rules of Survival crew is here in preparations for the shooting in two weeks! - she informed me, clapping with just her fingers. - I want to know what guests they will be bringing! Please, please get me some handsome actors!
I wanted to facepalm so hard, but I somehow managed to stop myself.
- Mission Man crew is coming tomorrow to scout the locations for filming too! - she continued. - I heard idols are killing themselves to appear on this episode! And the streamers crew will be here around the same time, so they all might meet together! That's so awesome!
She squeaked out of excitement.
- Ok, ok, ok... Calm the fuck down kid. Those are just people, like you and me.
- Oh no, no, no - she waved her index finger at me. - They are not like you and me. Some of those people are like dols. Tall guys with baby faces. Eye-candy girls. Trust me, they don't even look like real people.
- Ok, maybe they don't. This doesn't change the fact that you have school.
- But this might be the chance for me to meet them! That's my dream dad!
- What about the anime? That used to be your dream.
- It's the other dream.
I sighed.
- I'm not gonna stop you, but be mindful, ok? And School is a priority.
- I'm just gonna watch from afar. Maybe get some autographs. Maybe if the Mission Man crew will be looking for some locals to help them with their missions I might get involved... That would be a dream. Maybe they could get some streamers too...
Her mouth got opened wide, as she couldn't believe the storyline she just made.
- People would lose their shit dad. This would be the ultimate crossover - she continued. - We have to make this happen.
- No. We fucking don't. Do me a favor and don't piss your dad off, ok? Do you know how scary your dad can be if he is pissed? You don't, but trust me, you don't want to witness that.
- Stop talking about yourself in the third person, and you are wrong. This has to happen. The world needs this. Millions of people around the world need this, and we have to do everything we can, to make this happen.
- I'm not doing shit, Tihana, and you are officially grounded.
- I live with Irina, you can't ground me.
- I will fucking chain you to a wall if I have to. Leave those people alone. Forget about crossovers, and focus on school.
- Ok... Fine - she said, with resentment painted all over her face. - I won't...
I sighed.
- I know you are excited and everything, but let them do what they are supposed to do here, and please, please - I repeated myself - keep focusing on school, as you used to do. Ok?
- Yeah... Whatever - she said, and just passed by me.
I observed her until she left the building, and then Sudarshana approached me.
- What all this was about? - she asked.
- Just father-daughter disagreement. Nothing big...
- Are we going to work on some alien literature? - she asked, smiling, clearly to lift up my mood after what just happened.
- Yeah, sure.
She kissed me on the cheek, and I shadow walked us back home. Back then I actually thought that I managed to deal with Tihana, but as I was soon to discover, she actually hasn't dropped the plan at all...
Sudarshana, though, managed to very successfully transfer all my attention to something completely different from the kid.
The day came to an end with 24 345 240 points remaining on my account, and 21 class points.
