The kill didn't go unnoticed. It was a trigger for a powerful retribution, which made me regret what I did because even with my body and skills, I found myself in trouble.
Suddenly there was a glow among the ruins, which happened exactly when the electric tentacle monster disappeared, and then bolts of lightning started raining from the sky everywhere. They were decimating the whole area, and the space was filled with a constant, defining sound of thunderbolts.
I tried to escape. I shadow walked from place to place, dancing around, like a madman, just to avoid the attack, but I found myself struck a few times, despite my efforts. There was just too much stuff in the air.
So I stopped and ejected a makeshift barrier around myself. It was the best I could do in such a short amount of time, so the lack of design needed to be replaced with an excess amount of power fueling the construction. The problem was, that equal amounts of mana were raining down in their electrified form from the sky, straight at me, since I stopped escaping.
The world turned white, and I went blind. There was just too much light for my eyes to handle. I reacted immediately by using 'Eyes of the Void', then blocking my eyes with a cover made out of void essence, and then I finally healed myself.
All this, while enduring a devastating assault of lightning bolts raining from the sky straight at me. They fused together, forming this contact surge of electricity directed point-blank at my position. It melted the ground around me, leaving just the spot protected by my barrier, but even that eventually crumbled down.
I kept myself in the spot, at first using 'Telekinesis' but then switched to just flying.
It was a constant struggle, as the energy from the clouds was pushing me down. Like that, I found myself in a terrible position. Now, from the perspective of time, I am able to see why. Drunk on a new power, I was reckless in my approach. Normally I would be much more careful, first analyzing the skills of my opponent, before doing anything which could put me in danger, but the fruit. and the strength it brought, evaporated that approach.
My attacks were so powerful, that I just threw the defense into a garbage bin. After all, why defend when you can just annihilate your opponent? The problem was I killed one, not two. If I was to go after both properly, I wouldn't get in so much trouble. Back then, though, there was no time for thinking about useless stuff. I had to focus on survival.
I shadow walked, abandoning my safe spot, then straight up went to producing the path of void essence, and ran at full speed, breaching a barrier of sound. It made me realize that I was deaf, since I didn't hear anything.
I pushed away the useless thoughts, focusing on what was important. The enemy, who was still trying to find me, as I was running around away from him. But the whole thing was pointless for me, I was in no position to keep it this way because his wide-range attack already proved to me that I couldn't just escape.
This meant I had to attack before he would go back to something that already worked. My weapon was gone, so I couldn't do what I did before. My first thought was to close the distance, and at least try providing some damage, then move further from there.
The only problem was, that I wasn't sure if it would work. I already failed to pierce the electric defense with such an approach.
Magic didn't seem like a good way, since the ghost was also magical, so I was pretty sure he could defend from such an attack even better. But then it struck me. I had something else, which I developed well.
I concentrated, leaving running to my unconscious mind, and then I focused on the spot where the ghost was. He was shining with blue light because of the power already gathered around him, so I easily spotted his location. Plus also there was the fact, that he didn't really move.
Knowing where to hit, I manipulated the gravity at that very point. Suddenly I was yanked from my position straight to that place, which took me off-guard, but I didn't stop concentrating, just shadow walked to keep the distance.
I wasn't the only object around,w which got pulled that way. All the rubble of the devastated city, some of the magma created by the surges of electric energy hitting the ground, and anything which miraculously survived this armageddon, all of it got pulled there.
Before even a single second passed, there was this dark ball of all the garbage pressing against itself, forming this massive ball of darkness, which wouldn't allow even the light to escape.
I stopped myself from being taken there by a wall of void essence, but I was still pressed against it, with a crushing strength of my own mind.
For my body, though, It was just very uncomfortable. I had some flashbacks from a fight with Ixa. Although her powers were way worse.
I stopped after couple more minutes, making the wall disappear, and just holding this gargantuan black sphere, which started to reflect some light, but it was still very dark.
I landed on the bottom of the crater I created, and then concentrated once more, just to make sure the fucker was dead. I unleashed a raging storm of fire around the ball, which completely consumed it, eventually turning into a liquid form, which I allowed to slowly drip down after holding it there for around half an hour. Just to make sure it was all sufficiently hot enough.
It took some time, and I had to fly up because the hole eventually filled up. In the end, I was left with two crystals just held by my telekinetic powers, which I collected before returning to Loistavadvaar.
