Atticus remained silent.

“They’re twins,” Whisker said finally. “And the reason I said they count as one is because, individually, they’re nothing special. But they always fight together. Always.”

Atticus exhaled slowly. “…Are they strong?”

“Yes.” Whisker didn’t hesitate.

A long silence settled between them. Then Atticus asked, “So… what are you suggesting?”

Whisker paused, clearly impressed that Atticus had already picked up on where he was headed.

A grin slowly stretched across his porcine face.

“Isn’t this the perfect time for a power up?” he said.

“I’ll teach you how to use your will.”

The Zorvan’s planet was a world of blue.

They were the overlords of mana. They lived in it. Thrived in it.

Mana wasn’t just a tool, it was the very fabric of their civilization.

The bulk of their structures were crafted from pure mana constructs, held together by runes pre programmed for specific functions. Their machines, their tools, even their daily lives, were all shaped by mana in one form or another.

It was deeply ingrained in their society.

They drank mana, ate mana… and, though not as straightforward as people often imagined, they even pooped mana.

Regardless, in this radiant blue world, a castle sat at its heart.

And the first thing anyone would think upon seeing it was how utterly out of place it looked.

Everything around it shimmered with mana, glowing gently with soft blue hues.

But this castle…

It was black. Entirely black.

Made from some ancient material that looked like it could weather any storm.

Inside the castle, the sound of two footsteps echoed through the grand halls, breaking the silence.

“I wonder why big brother is calling for us. Did they finally find that human boy?”

The soft voice of a woman rang out, almost too gently for the cavernous space.

But after a moment, no reply came.

She frowned slightly. “Kaelith, you’re doing it again.”

The second figure, Kaelith, turned his head toward her with an expressionless face.

“Lysara, I don’t know. If I did, I wouldn’t have to follow you to find out.”

The frown on Lysara’s face deepened. “I know you don’t know!”

Kaelith simply blinked at her. “Then why did you ask?”

Lysara clicked her tongue. “You know, just because you came out first doesn’t mean you always have to act like a bully.”

Kaelith sighed, turned away, and picked up his pace without a word.

Lysara huffed. “Hey! Are you trying to abandon your little sister?”

She quickly followed, hurrying to catch up.

The Twins of Bloom and Bright.

That was what they were called across the Zorvan world, and beyond, throughout the middle planes.

Both had the distinct features of shimmering blue hair and glowing crimson eyes.

And should Atticus ever see them, he would recognize them instantly, especially considering Whisker had just finished telling him about them.

Lysara and Kaelith.

Whisker’s siblings.

Lysara wore a flowing asymmetrical cloak made of blooming leaves and layered moss.

Her skin was a pale, smooth green, covered in thorny vine tattoos. Her voice was soft, her face innocent.

Kaelith, on the other hand, was broader and grimmer. He was draped in a stitched cloak made of beast hide and bone, armor like in its form with jagged spikes protruding from his shoulders and arms. His skin was ashen and stained, his eyes sunken and cold.

He was the blight to Lysara’s bloom.

Eventually, the two reached a massive black door and came to a stop in front of it.

They both stopped their bickering and took a breath before stepping through.

A world unfolded before their eyes, its sheer scale far surpassing what the castle should’ve been able to contain.

The twins walked in silence, moving across the barren lands that stretched endlessly in every direction. Above them, harsh sun rays scorched the cracked earth beneath their feet.

But soon enough, they came to an abrupt stop.

Then, without warning, a quake surged through the world. The ground trembled violently as the entire landscape shifted.

Massive cliffs erupted from beneath, jagged mountains soared upward, forests bloomed from nothing, molten rivers snaked through valleys, and icy glaciers cracked into existence.

The world had changed in an instant.

Yet, the twins didn’t flinch. They had expected this.

Then, as the terrain settled, a voice echoed, deep, and resonant.

“Lysara. Kaelith.”

It sounded like the world itself had spoken.

Despite their overwhelming power, neither could trace the source.

“Big brother,” they both said in unison, bowing.

“There’s been a new development,” the voice continued. “The army on Eldoralth has just confirmed the boy’s location. According to reports… Solren is dead. And the majority of the cores have fallen into his hands.”

The twins’ eyes narrowed sharply.

“Solren is dead?” Lysara said, disbelief filling her voice.

“Yes,” the voice replied. “Which brings me to my second point. He was killed by the boy, and by Whisker.”

Their eyes snapped open.

“Whisker? But isn’t he—”

“Yes,” the voice cut in. “It would seem… he’s betrayed us.”

In unison, their gazes turned cold.

Lysara’s voice dropped, the sweetness in it replaced by something colder.

“Looks like someone needs to teach the lastborn a lesson.”

Even Kaelith’s body began to radiate an intense killing intent.

The voice continued, calm.

“That said… I want both of you to join the battle personally. Complete our objective.”

Their eyes widened.

“You mean… we can go to Eldoralth now?” Lysara asked.

“Yes,” the voice confirmed. “Now that Solren is gone, there’s nothing to be wary of anymore. Join the battle. Kill Whisker. Retrieve the cores. Don’t fail me.”

“Yes, big brother!” they echoed in unison.

A dangerous glint burned in both their eyes.

Their older brother had always forbidden them from stepping foot on Eldoralth because of Solren.

Even he had been wary of the one called the Gardener.

That world had been his playground and no one wanted to move without knowing the rules.

But now… now that he was gone, that caution had died with him.

Now, they could finally go to Eldoralth.

Now, they could finally unleash carnage.
