Chapter 1296: Time

Quiet Flame began to speak, only for his words to freeze. He shook his head.

“I hope for you to reconsider this,” Quiet Flame said.

Atticus frowned intently. ‘He avoided answering the question.’ Atticus noted.

“I won’t,” Atticus said, standing up from his throne. “Is that all?”

Quiet Flame let out a deep sigh. “Yes. That is all. I suggest you prepare for the ascension day tomorrow.”

Atticus turned to look at Quiet Flame. The latter’s eyes burned with white flames, and he stared at Atticus, calm.

“Alright.” Atticus nodded, vanishing from the space.

He returned back to his continent, expression serious.

‘His tone…’ Atticus shook his head. The feelings still lingered strong, but he decided not to focus on things that were out of his control.

He continued his training and soon enough, Atticus felt another call. But this time around, it was from Noctis. Anastasia was calling for him.

As Atticus appeared on the hill, entering the main building, he was surprised to find another banquet like dinner set out.

His family, along with trusted Eldorians, stood waiting for him to take a seat at the head of the table.

Atticus sent Anastasia an accusatory look and took a seat. As the group finished eating and discussions started, Atticus was surprised to find out that the Eldorians had asked for the dinner themselves.

“Tomorrow is ascension day, and we wanted to bask in your presence before we face the unknown.”

Oberon had said, voicing what everyone held in their minds.

Atticus only smiled, glancing around the room, taking in the resolved and determined expressions. He had no idea what influence his presence had on the others, but he was glad to see the morale high.

They had requested a speech, to which Atticus had calmly refused. He didn’t do speeches unless there was an important need.

Atticus left the dinner in a good mood. He loved having dinners with his family, and that didn’t change even with the Eldorians included.

But as he remembered the dangers of the midplanes, Atticus took a deep breath, exhaling.

He vanished and appeared in his training continent, and without wasting time, he continued training with new intensity, the quake of his attacks reaching other parts despite the shield.

Still, Atticus didn’t stop, not even when the night passed and dawn arrived.

The Eldorians had gathered at the edge of Atticus’ training continent, each with varying expressions.

They were each donned in armor, weapons at the ready. Today was the day of ascension, and Atticus had warned them to be ready for war. They were ready for just that.

Still, despite their readiness, they each couldn’t help but feel shivers roaring down their spines as they witnessed the scene unfolding in front of them.

The dome that covered the entire training continent did little to stop the shockwaves of Atticus’ training from reaching them. They could feel it. The pressure, the weight in the air.

It was like a caged ancient beast was raging. The Eldorians shuddered.

“I’m glad he’s on our side,” Thorne muttered, earning a nod from the other Eldorians.

“I still can’t comprehend how you and your wife managed to birth him,” Luminous said, facing Avalon while shaking his head. “Is it something she ate while pregnant?”

As Avalon felt the stare of the Eldorians on him, he cleared his throat. Even Magnus was looking at him.

“There’s no secret, he just turned out this way,” Avalon said finally.

The Eldorians still kept their eyes on him, some trying to pressure him. If there was a secret to birthing super babies, they wanted to know it.

“Maybe it’s the direction they had sex in,” Zephyrion suddenly added from the side.

“Or some technique?” Thorne said.

Avalon couldn’t help but sigh as the other Eldorians began hurling suggestions. Soon enough, they Eldorians began to chuckle, even they could see the absurdity of it all.

Their relaxed nature made most of them unable to notice that the cataclysmic sounds emerging from the continent had vanished.

But the next words cut through their chuckles and froze them in their tracks.

“Supreme Ruler.”

The Eldorians’ eyes shot towards Oberon to see him bowing slightly. Then, they turned, only for their eyes to shoot wide.

Atticus was there. Instead of training in the continent!?

Their hearts sank as they realized what they had been doing. ‘Did he hear?’ The same thoughts thundered in their heads.

But Atticus wasn’t even staring at them. Despite just coming out of intense training, his body was flawless. He had donned a pure white kimono, katana strapped to his left waist.

His gaze was fixed skyward, his demeanor serious.

“It’s starting,” he said, and the expressions of the Eldorians shifted in an instant.

The air around them became heavy. They gathered behind Atticus, cold gazes turning to the skies. Hands reached for their weapons.

It was at that moment that two figures appeared, Ozeroth and Whisker. They were both impeccably dressed, eyes focused, and aura heavy. Neither held the playfulness of the past. Instead, there was only seriousness.

A quick nod to Atticus, and they each fell in line.

As a blinding light began to encompass the world, Atticus closed his eyes and held his breath.

He opened his eyes in the next moment, and the first thing he noticed was the blue light shining down on them.

The golden sun had vanished, and had been replaced by a blue star.

‘The star of Torevennos.’ Atticus identified. His eyes soon sharpened as the familiar blue pathway leading to the blue star appeared in front of him. He glanced at the others when nothing else occurred.

“I’m not staying behind,” Ozeroth said, already stepping forward.

Whisker winked at Atticus, moving to stand by Ozeroth’s side.

Atticus sighed. He was about to speak when he saw three more people moving to Ozeroth’s side, Avalon, Magnus, and Aric.

“You both can’t leave…” he said incredulously to Magnus and Avalon. “Who will stay with Mom?”

Avalon and Magnus glanced at each other.

“You went last time. It’s my turn, Dad,” Avalon said.

But Magnus shook his head, speaking only two words.

“Your wife.”

Avalon’s expression twisted, as though that was all it took. He sighed, glaring at Magnus before moving to hover by the other Eldorians.
