While Guo Yulao and Wang Xie were talking about things here and there and also discussing what would they do now that they had recognized who was behind old man Wang's previous illness, Ye Qian walked into the old age home gate, holding his eldest daughter in one arm, the little girl's bag on his back, and carrying a plastic bag in his other free arm.
If one looked at it, one would notice that there seemed to be some box in the bag.
But if there was someone who knew about the third being with them, they would clearly understand what was within the box.
Of course, the third being was Feifei, the little girls' friend, and the reason why someone knowing her would understand what was inside the box.
Well, the little thing had her eyes glued on the box as if she was simply yearning for it to be opened and she would be greeted with the contents within.
Of course, the box had a cake and not long ago Ye Qian and Little Jia had gone to a cake shop on their way from the little girl's school.
The moment they entered the shop, their little friend was as if had entered some kind of heaven, someplace which she could always live in without even getting bored for even a single moment.
The sweet aroma along with the scent of various fruits, and spices wafted her nose, making her let out a shrill cry of excitement.
When they were given the samples of the cakes, Ye Qian let the little thing taste it along with Little Jia and not much to his shock, Feifei loved every single one, making her seem to be in turmoil as to what she should eat and what to leave.
The situation was like hell and heaven for her. While she could see all the delicacies around her, she was just too confused as to what to try.
Finally, seeing her friend turn a bit sad, Little Jia asked her Papa's help.
Right away, Ye Qian bought small pieces of the numerous cakes, shocking both the other customers and also the shopkeepers present.
It took more than five minutes for about ten people to pack all the flavours, making them even sweat in the cold conditions of the shop.
Of course, after walking out, Ye Qian quickly placed the other cakes into his Samsara ring, while keeping the one for celebration out.
"Hehe, Papa will she like the cake?" Jia asked as she waved her small hand at the gatekeeper who smiled at them.
Usually, the visitors would be asked to wait or make sure they had set an appointment or let the office of the old age home know of their arrival, but that wasn't the thing for Ye Qian and his family.
Of course, if Ye Qian had come alone when he came here the first time he wouldn't have been allowed entry. But thanks to Little Qiqi with him, he had been given the universal pass.
As he stepped onto the stairs, Ye Qian raised his brows and answered, "Umm, I don't know, maybe she would or she won't."
Ye Qian continued seeing the frowning look on his little daughter's face.
"You know Jia, it's not really the price of the gift that counts, it's your well wishes and respect for that person that matters the most."
"Umhm."
"Alright, let's go, I think everyone should be waiting for us, we took a lot of time today."
"Hehe, okay!"
"CHIIICHIII!"
"Feifie also wanted to taste the cake." the little girl giggled and knocked on the door, grabbing the attention of everyone present in the hall.
"Huh Papa!"
As soon as Ye Qian took a step into the room, two excited voices called out and two small figures dashed towards him with wide grins on their faces.
"Ahh, Papa what took you so long, Qiqi thought that you were stuck in traffic."
"Hehe, but I told Big Sister that we don't have a car, so you can't be stuuucky in the traaaffffic." Xiao Ya said in broken words.
Although the little girls had sharp minds and were developing at a sharp rate, there were still a few things they would stumble upon.
"Haha, we had some work to do Qiqi, Xiao Ya."
"Ohh, what was it?"
Hearing their biggest sister, their ears perked up as they looked at her with attention.
Meanwhile, their gaze subconsciously went to their Papa's other hand and saw that he was carrying a bag.
"Ahh, Dad, what is in that bag?"
Xiao Ya asked, her brows raised high as she went closer, but it seemed like the little girl's nose was a bit too sensitive as it wrinkled and her eyes brightened.
"Hehe, I know what is inside!"
Ye Qian chuckled.
He just couldn't understand just how were this little girl's senses so keen.
"Ahh, Xiao Ya, tell your Big Sister too."
Of course, there was no way that the smallest sister would disobey her Big Sister, comrade in arms.
She grinned and went closer to Qiqi and whispered something in her ears.
"Ohh, I see."
"Okay okay, it should be important."
Little Qiqi nodded, a determined look on her face as she glanced at her friend's mother who was looking at them, a confused look on her face.
With that, Little Qiqi rushed to Zhimen, and pulled the fellow aside, making him flustered and whispered something to him.
"Ohhh, hehe, thank you Qiqi!"
The little fellow's eyes brightened as he gratefully looked at his friend and then at her father.
Ye Qian smiled and waved it off while, the three little girls rushed to every grandpa and grandma around telling the secret mission they had to accomplish.
Upon hearing the children, the faces of the grandpas and grandmas turned serious and they turned to look at Mrs Ji, their eyes narrowed.
"Ahh, what happened!" Mrs Ji blurted, her voice almost caught in her throat, not being able to stand still under their serious gazes.
'Did I do something wrong, maybe asking about Qiqi's grandparents might have made them feel bad and they are missing their own. Ahh, this is all my fault.'
She felt heavy, feeling bad that on such a good day she had hurt so many people. But the next instant, she was shocked as she heard everyone's words.
"Happy Birthday Little Girl!"
"Happy Birthday Aunty!"
For a moment, she couldn't register what had actually happened, but as she realized what they were saying, tears welled in her eyes and a gentle smile formed on the corner of her lips.
"Thankyou..."
