At the back of the bustling restaurant in the Metro District.
Ye Qian stood behind Yuan Meng who was standing in front of the old lady whom she called Aunt Qin.
Ye Qian stood there not wanting to disturb their reunion while still thinking as to what would the relationship be between Yuan Meng and this Aunt Qin.
According to him, Yuan Meng had never introduced this Aunt of hers to him when he was there or after they married, and so he thought that maybe the two would have met after he died in that accident.
Aunt Qin caressed Yuan Meng's hair and said with a light smile.
"See you have become so skinny."
She wrapped her fingers around Yuan Meng's wrist and said with wide eyes and frowned.
"Hmm."
Knowing that she couldn't say anything against her Yuan Meng kept quiet and only nodded her head apologetically.
"I and your uncle thought that you much have gone back to your home in the town back when you never came to meet us after you left."
"And then there was no message of yours after that, we were so worried about you."
As Aunt Qin said this her face changed into that of a worrisome expression as she held onto Yuan Meng's hand lightly.
"Hmm."
"I am sorry.'
With her head down Yuan Meng apologized and then mumbled.
"I also missed you two, but there was a lot of work and then Qiqi also needed a lot of attention back then so I couldn't go out with her as well."
"SIGH"
Aunt Qin sighed and nodded.
"You are right, that little girl must have been lonely all the time."
Aunt Qin and Yuan Meng stood silent for a moment before Yuan Meng suddenly went into her embrace and tears started to drip from her eyes.
Ye Qian who was behind her felt that Yuan Meng was losing her guilt and was feeling a send of belonging as she started to cry to her heart's content.
He sighed in his heart and shook his head.
Ye Qian could feel that although there was something that Yuan Meng had not told him about, she was always trying to hide it from him not because she didn't want to tell him, but the real reason behind it was that she didn't want to remember her past which she felt as if it was filled with sorry and all those sad memories.
But after seeing her Aunt Qin whom she had just met a few years ago after she came back from the town and was searching for work in order to make her livelihood.
Though her parents in law insisted for her to stay with them and they won't let her go alone to the city just to make a living Yuan Meng's persistence was what made them hold their hearts and allow her to go and do what she wanted to.
It was also not like she didn't want to live in the town and so wanted to leave it or like she didn't like her parents in law, but in fact, they were the best which she could ever find and even respected them with all her heart.
They never made her work for even a minute before she would be ordered to not do anything and only take care of her little baby, but this made her feel like she was starting to become a burden for them, and though they never said it out to her, she knew that with them getting old with time and coupled with the fact that Ye Qian had just died and they were also sorrowful in their hearts but always tried to hide it from her and would act lively in front of her to make her think that they were fine.
But how could she not understand how they might be feeling, she had also lost her mother when she was a child back then and though she knew that losing a mother might be a bit different than losing their child but she still understood that their sorrow would be no less than that of what she had felt back then.
Ye Qian was their only child and he even died in an uncertain way that no one even knew if he was even dead or had gone missing and with the fact that she was pregnant with an 8-month-old baby in her womb made them swallow their anguish just to keep her and the coming new-born to have a happy life.
But how could she not notice that they were suffering too much just to make her and the coming baby whom they had their hopes for, that was also the only reason that gave them a small hope of living after the death of their son?
And so she decided to leave the town and earn enough money to help them and even wanted them to not work, now this was her family and she knew that after her husband's death she would have to take care of everything here of it would all go to nothing.
She didn't want them to work till they were bedridden, she wanted them to have a happy old life, though she knew that she won't be able to take Ye Qian's place in their heart but at least she could become their daughter and at least let them have a happy old life.
But after coming back to the city she was shocked to the core as she was unable to find a proper job that was flexible enough to make her work in her own free time, she still had a 2-year-old baby girl with her and she would never even dare t think of finding a job which would make her work for the whole day while the baby stayed in the house all alone.
She would never think of letting her daughter live like she used to live even after she had a person whom she used to call a father, but at least she had a grandpa back then.
