"Hmm."
Ye Qian simply nodded and walked away with Yuan Meng.
Yuan Meng just turned around and nodded to Ji who wanted to say something but saw quickly stopped.
"Young miss, should I call them?"
Though he seemed to be asking her, his voice was stern as if he was commanding her.
With a small pout on her lips, she turned to the man and narrowed her eyes but didn't say anything and just nodded with a sigh.
"That's better."
The man nodded while he turned to the bodyguards and whispered something in his ear before pointing at Ye Qian then left.
Though she was unable to hear what he had said to her guards, the manner in which the man looked at Ye Qian made her heart tighten as she felt worried for him.
She knew that the old man won't dare to do anything to her Big Sister, but that could not be the same for Ye Qian.
But she didn't have any say in this and could only ask her Big Sister to stay with Ye Qian and keep him safe or he might be harmed for no apparent reason.
He didn't even think of the fact that the guards had a sudden change in their behaviours when they saw her with him.
She was more worried about him than because this was all going to happen because of her.
Had she not been waiting for them for so long then none of this might have happened.
She sighed and determined that she would try to know what that man had said to her guard.
She turned to the couple who was walking to her with a bright smile on their lips and a small handbag in the woman's hands.
"Happy Birthday to you Miss Yuan."
The man wished her with a bright smile while he took the bag from the woman and continued.
"This is a small gift from our Big Whale Corporations."
"We hope that young miss would like this."
The man grinned as Ji took the gift with a smile and said a few words of compliments to her before they turned away and left.
Ji could only continue to force a smile before everyone as many people continued to come to her and gift her something or the other while saying their names and that of their companies or business.
She was already bored off all this and even her cheeks were in pain due to forcefully smiling.
And that was when she saw a horde of middle-aged men and women walking to her with some young men.
She instantly understood that these oldies were here to fish her out while trying to introduce their sons to her.
She could not say anything since the middle ages man from before was also by her side as he nodded at each of them.
She felt like she was like a prisoner now.
All she wanted was to spend a happy time with her Big Sister and nothing else but she was forced to do all these bland things.
After about an hour of receiving gifts and hearing everyone's introduction Ji was so bored that she had started to feel her head aching now.
She had met more than a few hundreds of people by now in this hour and her face and also started to ache a lot from the constant smiling.
She sighed and sat by the chair while gulping a few sips of wine when she saw a horde of a few young men and women walking to her.
It looked no much different than a group of donkeys to her and their leader was her cousin.
Knowing that it was going to be a really mind-boggling meet, Ji tried to prepare herself for hearing some high levelled fawning and boot lickings.
She breathed a mouthful of air and made herself prepared when she saw a wicked smile on her cousin's lips as if he was thinking of some weird tricks to make her unhappy.
Ever since she was a child these two cousins of her had always been bullying her and her Big Sister.
Though his cousin was younger than her, there was still another cousin of their's who had not come here today or she didn't know what all kinds of acts he might have made already.
He was a few years older than both her and her Big Sister and treated the two of them like they were not worthy of anything.
But her Big Sister was always treated like non-existence by their whole family with the exception of her mother, their grandpa and herself.
While the guards and other people feared her Big Sister they would still call her names behind her back.
She didn't know what had her Big Sister done wrong for them to treat her in such a way but even her sister didn't complain about it and was in fact happy that she was not treated like her.
Sometimes she envied her Big Sister as she was able to live independently unlike her.
She glanced at Yuan Meng and Ye Qian who were helping each other while having dinner at the corner of the hall completely isolated from all the surrounded men who were staring at them.
It was like none of them mattered to them as they continued to have their own small date in this place.
Ji sighed and turned back to the "Horde Of Donkeys and their Leader"
Meanwhile, behind her, the middle-aged man glanced at Yuan Meng and Ye Qian who were in their won space as they had their lovely dinner with the corner of his eyes and mumbled something under his breath.
There was a light scornful smile on his lips as if he was thinking what good was about to happen.
"Finally this witch will leave the house."
Though none heard what he said, Yuan Meng felt someone was looking at her and glanced at the man with narrow eyes.
