Back For My Daughter

Chapter 328 - A Gift No Matter How Small Is A Gift!

Seeing Ye Qian waving at her, Ji also waved while still in a daze.

She didn't know if she should be happy that he had gifted her something or be sad with the fact that she felt that she was losing him even more now.

'Why... why can't you care for me just like you care for her?'

A question rang in her mind like a buzz as she saw Ye Qian walking out and vanishing from her sight.

"SIGH"

She sighed and then stumbled on the chair but quickly got herself back so as to not let others know of something.

As she sighed and sat, her eyes went on the small box in her hand.

"Cousin, what is the use of that scrap, just thrown it away, it can't be that this guy gave something that was worth more than any of the gifts that any boss of the Shenzhen gave you."

As she was staring at the small box in her hand she heard someone saying with a voice will with disdain.

She didn't need to know who it was, as that poison in those words would only belong to her cousin who despised her Big Sister.

"No."

She tightened her grip on the small box will her hands turned red and shook her head.

"A gift is a gift, and there was no other motive of him to give this to me, no matter however small or unworthy it might be."

She stood up with her red eyes but didn't look at Lao and said in anger filled tone.

She knew that now, with her Big Sister gone, there was no one who would cover her back in the Yuan Family, which was filled with many beasts lurking just to bite you off at any moment.

She needed to change herself.

She had to make her heart strong enough for no one would be allowed to mess up with her.

There were many wolves who were already wanting to take her out.

She could not give herself up, there was no man in the world to her who was as selfless as him.

Saying that she walked to the balcony of the hall away from everyone and started to stare at the dark sky filled with countless stars shimmering while tightly holding the box in her hand.

__________

At the current moment.

Ji wiped the tears off the corner of her eyes.

"That was the last time I was able to see you for so long."

With a melancholic tone, she stared at the still wrapped box in her hands and then glanced at the few birds which were chirping in her balcony for so long.

Usually, there would rarely be any bird some to her balcony, but now, there were no less than that of a few '20s.

She was also wondering as to how could there be so many birds coming into her room.

"CHIRP"

"CHIRP"

The first sparrow which hand jumped on her hand tilted her head while looking at her and then at the wrapped box.

This box, I have not opened it since then.

"I am just happy that he gave me a gift, I don't care if it's empty or there is something completely useless for me."

"What matters is his will and heart."

She mumbled with a bright smile as she remembered the image of Ye Qian as he had patted her head 6 years ago on her birthday.

"I was such a silly girl back then."

She poked her tongue out and shook her head with a smile.

But tears couldn't stop from falling down the corner of her eyes.

"CHIRP"

"CHIRP"

The sparrow jumped from her arm to her plan and then took the corner of the wrapper in her beak and started to pull it.

"Hey don't, I don't want to open it."

She urged but the bird seemed to have not understood any of her words and continued to pull the corner of the wrapper.

"TRRR"

The small sparrow tore the already old and ravaged thin plastic wrap.

"You... why did you do this?"

At first, Ji felt sad for herself and was angry at the sparrow, but after understanding that there was no way it would have been able to understand any of her words she shook her head and said in a mocking tone.

"It's all my fault, why should I blame you?'"

"PURRR"

She patted the small sparrow's head with her thumb finger as the little one purred in delight.

"Why would you do something that is completely out of sense?"

Ji mumbled while her eyes landed on the small box which still had the wrapped but it was opened now.

All the time she had kept the box for so long, she never felt that she should check what Ye Qian might have given to her.

But now with the breaking of the wrapper, she felt that she was getting this urge to open the box and check what he had given her back then.

It was just like if someone were to say a story of a few generation old ghost residing in a house and people were afraid of even opening the door of the house.

But after someone opened it nothing happened, then people would get interested to go in and look at the so-called ghost house.

People's interest would be piqued since there was no sign of ghosts in the house after the door was opened and they would have this urge to go and tour around the house.

Right now Ji was feeling the same.

Unknown to her, her right hand which was holding the box seemed to be calling for her.

The more she looked at it the more she felt to open the box completely, even though she didn't want to.

"Ughh, let's open it, since Qian gave it to me it would be a simple ornament or something which he felt would look good on me."

With that, she brought her other hand and started to open the wrapper carefully as to not tear it.
