The entire classroom fell into sudden silence.

How much?!

The students were both shocked and bewildered, many wondering if they had misheard.

After a few seconds, Raffi let out an awkward laugh and said,

"You actually broke through to 29%? That’s impressive! No wonder the school directors called you in for a brain domain test."

So it was 29%... The students inexplicably felt a sense of relief.

Although reaching 29% was still hard to accept, it was at least within the realm of reason compared to 39%.

"It’s 39%." Qiao Sang corrected.

As soon as she spoke, the classroom plunged into silence once again.

39%? Did she really say 39%?! So they hadn’t misheard?!

But even among geniuses, it was impossible to reach 39% brain domain activation at this age!

Everyone’s expressions changed as they looked at Qiao Sang.

Only now did they realize that this interstellar exchange student might be completely different from any they had seen before.

At that moment, the class bell rang.

During math class, the teacher quickly noticed that none of the students were paying attention. They were all distracted, lost in thought, except for the girl from Blue Star, who was diligently taking notes.

After class, Tang Yi hesitated for a moment before asking in a low voice,

"You really broke through to 39%?"

Qiao Sang glanced at him.

"Why would I lie?"

Tang Yi sighed in frustration.

"I knew we had a gap, but I didn’t expect it to be this big."

Qiao Sang offered a sincere piece of advice, "You’ll get used to it."

Thanks for that.

Tang Yi nodded, as if trying to accept reality. Then he suddenly remembered something and asked,

"Have you decided what your fourth contracted beast will be?"

Qiao Sang shook her head.

"Not yet. What about you? Have you chosen your third?"

Tang Yi hesitated before replying, "I’ve decided on the attribute, but I’m not sure whether to contract one here or wait until I return to Blue Star."

So, he hadn’t really decided…

Qiao Sang said, "Isn’t contracting a beast here a good option? If you wait until you return, you’ll have to wait a few months."

Tang Yi sighed.

"We’ll have to return to Blue Star eventually. If we contract a beast here, there’s no guarantee that it will adapt. I once heard my elders talk about a man who contracted a beast from Chaosu Star. But after he brought it back to Blue Planet, the poor thing couldn’t handle the summer and winter. It refused to train or even step outside during those seasons."

That was a fair point...

Qiao Sang fell into thought.

Chaosu Star had a consistent temperature year-round, unlike Blue Star. If she was going to contract a fourth beast, she needed to consider whether it could withstand both heat and cold.

At that moment, a blonde girl at the neighboring desk spoke up.

"Do you two want to come to my house tomorrow?"

Qiao Sang and Tang Yi both turned to look at her.

The blonde girl continued,

"I overheard your conversation. My little sister just unlocked the second page of her Beast Taming Codex a few days ago, so we’re holding a celebration tomorrow. Some pet beast base leaders from the Upper Ten District will be attending, and they’ll be bringing some of their most talented beasts. You two can take a look and see if there’s one you like."

Whoa. So this was the life of the rich…

Qiao Sang was envious.

Tang Yi, however, didn’t look particularly impressed, he had grown up in a similar environment.

Instead of answering immediately, he glanced at Qiao Sang.

Tang Yi knew that the girl was inviting him mainly because of Qiao Sang. Ever since Qiao Sang had been summoned by the school directors, he had noticed that their classmates’ attitudes toward her had changed.

"Sounds good." Qiao Sang agreed.

"What time?"

"I’ll go too!" Tang Yi quickly added.

The blonde girl smiled.

"Tomorrow at six in the evening. I’ll wait for you at the school gate."

---

That night, Qiao Sang sat at her desk, scrolling through her phone.

[Mind Power: A trait of Psychic-type pet beasts. It allows them to transmit thoughts directly to another’s mind as mental intent.]

[Pet beasts with Mind Power have a higher chance of learning certain mind-based moves, such as Charm, Taunt, and Mind Swap.]

So, Mind Power was a trait…

Qiao Sang was slightly disappointed.

It was such a useful ability, yet it was tied to a beast’s innate traits… Unlike skills, which could be learned through training, characteristics were typically determined at birth. If a beast didn’t have it upon evolution, it was unlikely to ever develop it.

She put her phone down and turned to see Little Treasure staring at her eagerly.

"Xun…"

The little beast stretched out his paw.

Qiao Sang twitched the corner of her mouth and handed over her phone.

"Here."

"Xun~"

Little Treasure grinned and floated away, hugging the phone happily.

Watching him, Qiao Sang mused to herself: If pet beasts have to attend school, why don’t they have homework? Maybe I should suggest it…

"Xun…"

Just then, Little Treasure shuddered slightly, feeling a sudden chill.

He turned to the window, his eyes glowing blue.

The next moment, the half-open window shut with an invisible force.

Little Treasure looked down, satisfied, and went back to playing with the phone.

Yep, now he won’t be cold anymore.

---

The next evening, at six o’clock.

Qiao Sang stepped out of the school gate, holding the shrunken Yabao in her arms.

"Qiao Sang! Over here!" Tang Yi waved at her from a distance.

Beside him was a three-meter-tall bird-like pet beast. It had a white crest composed of five feathers, dark blue plumage covering its upper body and wings, and yellow feathers on its chest, belly, and legs. Its tail had a white band and a yellow band at the tip, altogether, a strikingly beautiful creature.

A blonde girl was sitting on its back, with a middle-aged man in a black suit seated in front of her. Judging by their positions, it was clear that the man was the beast’s true tamer.

The bird-like beast turned its head and saw Yabao being carried in Qiao Sang’s arms. It froze.

The middle-aged man tapped his index finger on the beast’s back.

The bird jolted and quickly looked away, as if afraid to stare for too long.

As Qiao Sang and Tang Yi climbed aboard, Yuna got a closer look at Yabao. Her eyes lit up as she exclaimed,

"So this is your pet beast? It’s gorgeous!"

"Yap."

Yabao let out a sound, as if to say, I’m not just good-looking, I’m cool too!

"It’s called a Blazing Star Canine." Qiao Sang said with a smile.

Tang Yi added, "Right now, there’s only one on all of Blue Star."

For some reason, he sounded almost proud.

The middle-aged man didn’t turn around, but his posture stiffened slightly.

Youna’s eyes widened.

"Only one?!"

"Yeah." Qiao Sang explained.

"It’s a newly discovered evolutionary form. Researchers are still studying it. Once they figure it out, there will be more."

"So that’s how it is…"

Yuna stared at Yabao for a while before hesitating. Finally, she said, "By the way, you might not want to hold your Blazing Star Canine like that when we arrive."

Qiao Sang frowned slightly.

"Why?"

"Yap?"

Yabao tilted his head in confusion.

Yuna hesitated, then explained, "Most people think that only weak trainers carry their pet beasts like that."

"Yap?"

Yabao blinked.

Qiao Sang chuckled.

"I’m a champion."

Yuna was momentarily stunned.

"I don’t care what they think." Qiao Sang said.

"Yap!"

Yabao let out a triumphant cry.
