Chapter 108: Beast Tide (11)

Chapter 108: Beast Tide (11)

While Jayce had been preoccupied with the monstrous Ape, battles were taking place all across the ramparts, each one like a dance of death where one false move could spell their end.

Not too far away from Jayce, Colin continued to valiantly protect the ranged units from the relentless assault of monstrous creatures that had scaled the city walls. He was instrumental in creating space for them to operate efficiently, allowing them to fire continuous salvo’s at the approaching beasts.

Being the battle junkie that he was, Colin had never looked happier, weaving in and out of battles with relative ease. The club in his hand had been painted red long ago, coated in the blood of the monsters he had crushed to a pulp and wearing it as a trophy.

As he sent his bloodied club down, smashing another unfortunate monster into meat paste, a sudden, instinctual shiver of danger shot down his spine. It was as if the very air had whispered a warning in his ear.

Reacting with the speed of a striking serpent, he thrust his massive shield forward just in the nick of time. The sound of a tremendous impact reverberated through the night as his shield intercepted a lightning-fast claw that had descended from over the city wall. Sparks flew, and the force of the blow caused Colin to stagger backward, his muscles straining against the immense power behind the attack.

As his vision cleared, he beheld the source of the vicious assault—a fearsome, feline-type monster that embodied the essence of terror itself. It was a grotesque fusion of a tiger and a jaguar, a monstrous creature of nightmarish proportions. Its head, towering at 2.5 meters, was crowned with deadly fangs and predatory, gleaming eyes. Its immense body, over 6 meters in length, rippled with bulging muscles beneath its sleek, dark coat.

Despite the perilous situation, Colin couldn’t help but let a wicked grin curl upon his lips. He bellowed defiantly to the monstrous amalgamation of feline fury, “Hello, kitty. Have you come to play?”

As if in response, the giant feline growled deeply and sent another large claw at the shield. Colin, his massive frame pushed back by the sheer strength of the monstrous amalgamation, stood his ground with unwavering determination. His face never faltered, the same trademark grin still clinging to his lips even in the face of such daunting odds.

It was clear that the feline monster was at a higher level than Colin, its strength seemingly radiated from its body with ease. Yet Colin was able to keep up with the beast by taking risks, leveraging his immovable wall to create angles for attacking.

Unfortunately he was rather limited to the skills he could use, due to being on top of the city walls. Not only did he have to try and avoid other people, he also had to worry about destroying the walls beneath his feet.

The two circled around each other, looking for an opening to strike. It was then that the battlefield was drowned out by a cry full of rage.

“I SAID WHO THE F*CK DID THIS!?”

The voice thundered across the ramparts, cutting through the cacophony of brutal combat like a clarion call. Colin’s keen ears instantly recognized the timbre and authority in Jayce’s scream, and he felt the boiling rage and indomitable spirit that underscored those words. His eyes widened in response, his earlier grin replaced by a grave determination as he comprehended the urgency within that scream.

Without hesitation, he propelled himself forward, launching towards the formidable feline monstrosity that confronted him. With a swift and practiced motion, he hoisted his massive club high into the air, its size doubling in an instant, and then brought it crashing down with the full force of his prodigious strength. The feline beast, no stranger to reading its adversaries, discerned the subtle shift in Colin’s movements, an undertone of impatience that belied the colossal man’s urgency.

Reacting swiftly, the monstrous feline took a single calculated step back, its keen instincts warning of the impending assault. It raised its lethal claw, swatting the incoming club with deftness and precision. The club rebounded violently, hurtling towards the nearby ramparts. Panic briefly coursed through Colin as he scrambled to prevent his weapon from crashing to the ground with destructive force.

By a stroke of fortune, his colossal shield intercepted the careening club in the nick of time. The impact reverberated through his arm, but he gritted his teeth, determined to keep control of the situation. This momentary diversion, however, left him vulnerable to the creature’s predatory instincts.

The feline monster seized the opportunity, lunging forward with a burst of speed that defied its immense size. Its razor-sharp claws sliced into Colin’s flesh, the rending force propelling the massive defender backward. Rolling several times upon the ground, Colin soon regained his feet, his colossal form rising with unwavering resolve. He dusted off his tattered armor, his rugged features set with an unyielding determination.

With newfound determination and steely resolve, Colin charged back towards the fearsome feline adversary. The two titans of the battlefield resumed their deadly dance, each blow ringing out with sickening thuds that reverberated across the nightmarish battleground.

Each clash of titanic forces sent shockwaves through the night, shaking the very foundations of Bastion’s defenses. The ferocious feline creature displayed unmatched power and agility, yet Colin’s resilience and unyielding spirit kept him in the fight.

As they battled, locked in a deadly dance of muscle and claw, a blinding radiance suddenly erupted from a certain distance away on the city wall. The brilliance of this radiance illuminated the surrounding chaos, momentarily blinding all who gazed upon it.

In that radiant moment, Colin felt something extraordinary surging through his body—an overwhelming flood of strength, like an unstoppable tide. An involuntary groan of pleasure escaped his lips as this newfound power coursed through him, invigorating every fiber of his being.

Accepting this surge of energy with a determined resolve, Colin raised his colossal club high into the air, its massive form silhouetted against the radiant backdrop. He bellowed with all the power his lungs could muster, the sound carrying across the battlefield, “HAHA THANK YOU LEADER!”

The others in the vicinity who were also a part of Hell’s Kitchen, also felt full of strength. They began to chant in response, paying their respects. “LEADER! LEADER!”
