Chapter 163: Custody?

The poor swordsman did not even have time to react, merely falling to the floor. Jayce did him the favor of grabbing him by the scruff of the neck before lowering him down safely to the ground.

Now there were only two people remaining, the bearded man which had spoken earlier and the last remaining swordsman. He wasn’t exactly sure of the bearded man’s class, but he wasn’t exactly worried either.

“So, are you going to return my woman? Or keep up with this futile struggle?” Jayce asked, his arrogance overflowing.

Perhaps it wouldn’t be entirely correct to call it arrogance. Confidence would likely be a truer description as he certainly had the power and means to back up his words.

The bearded man’s face fell, despite feeling annoyed, there was really nothing that he could do to the shirtless man. Not only had he easily dodged every attack thrown at him, he had also dispatched two of their men with a single strike. Not to mention he was unarmed.

The last remaining swordsman held onto his weapon tightly, sneaking glances at the bearded man, waiting for his orders. He was praying that he would not have to go up against this monster.

“Are you willing to come to our city in our custody?” The bearded man spoke up, testing the waters.

“Can you even take me into custody?” Jayce smiled, yet it did not reach his eyes. Lianna was currently being whisked away by someone while all of this was going on.

His voice faltered slightly, seeing that Jayce did not seem to be in a great mood. “U-Uh, if this woman is not our Leader as you say, then you should have nothing to worry about. We will also promise not to hurt you or your woman.”

Jayce considered his options. While he could quickly take care of these people in front of him and chase after Lianna’s captor, there were too many variables. He didn’t know the military might of the city, let alone if there were any traps set up.

It would be troublesome if he had to infiltrate a large city without knowledge of where she was being held captive. The worst case scenario would be if they found out she was not their leader and just killed her.

“How about you take me to your city to meet with this leader of yours. I will talk to her about compensation for today’s matters.” Jayce said after a while, after contemplating for a while.

“Ahem. It shall be as you say.” The bearded man replied, knowing that he did not have much of a choice in the matter, as long as he didn’t want to be beaten to a pulp.

“Go pick up TJ, you should feel lucky that our friend here was lenient on us.” He gave out some orders before walking over to the winded man who Jayce had kneed in the solar plexus.

“Get up ya bastard!” He shouted, sending a kick to the downed man.

“Ah!” The man let out a cry, before scrambling to his feet. It was clear that he had been playing dead, not wanting to receive a heavy blow again.

An amused smile crept onto Jayce’s face. He had known that the man was feigning injury, but that suited him just fine as long as he didn’t join the fray. Now that he had come to an agreement with these men, he relaxed a little.

He pulled his old chefs jacket out of his inventory and put it on. He was not able to enjoy a bath, nor wash his new tier 4 equipment thanks to these idiots intervening. He would definitely not be lenient when it came to asking for compensation.

The bearded man saw the flash of coldness flash across Jayce’s clear blue eyes, suddenly feeling a hint of dread in the pit of his stomach. ’Who the hell is this guy? And why did he capture the Leader in the first place?’ he thought inwardly.

“Can we go now?” Jayce said, gesturing for the men to lead the way. ’These guys sure suck at hosting guests.’ He thought with a hint of annoyance.

“Ah. Yes of course. My name is Anthony, but everyone calls me Tony. May I ask for your esteemed name?” The bearded man seemed to finally remember his manners.

“Jayce.” Jayce responded with a single word, waiting impatiently for the men to get a move on.

“Ahem, this way please Mr. Jayce.” Tony said, hiding his annoyance.

The group walked up the same path that the man had run down, carrying Lianna. Yet an unexpected sight came into view not long after they had started walking.

The figure of a woman was walking towards them, and it looked like she was dragging something heavy behind her.

Tony and his men gawked at the sight, there mouths wide open. “L-Leader, why did you attack Jeremy?” Tony asked, dumbfounded.

“Who the f*ck is Jeremy? This guy?” The woman turned around and kicked the unconscious man in the stomach, causing him to let out a grunt of pain.

“And who are you calling Leader? I don’t know any of you stinky bastards.” Lianna cursed, her temper was in full effect.

One moment she had been enjoying a romantic dip in the pool with the man she fancied, yet in the next she was whisked away by these unknown men. Not to mention the bastard had carried her under his stinky arm pits, giving her nose an unpleasant workout.

Jayce grinned, holding back a laugh at the current scene. The looks of shock on the men around him and the sight of Lianna cursing them out made him very happy.

“Lianna. We’re going to meet their boss, if she looks nothing like you then I’m going to kick their asses once again.” Jayce said with amusement.

Lianna looked over to Jayce who had now donned his chef jacket and clicked her tongue in annoyance, ’Those damn idiots, they’ve gone too far now.’ She complained inwardly.

However in the next moment she smiled and walked over to Jayce like an obedient woman and linked her arms in his. “How about you kick their asses again regardless.”

While the two reunited, Tony and his men looked at each other with shock written on their faces. ’What the hell was going on?’
