Chapter 264: Array (1)
“NO! No no no no NO!” Amon’s shrill screams could be heard as he watched Jayce fly into the air with the woman that had been his prisoner for the past 6 months.
His base was already in shambles from the moment that Jayce’s army had destroyed the killing array. Amon had thought that the first line of defense would be able to do heavy damage against the attackers.
However, they were easily dispatched with a single strike. 1,000 of his people which he had subjugated himself, all of whom also had access to the power given by the mysterious figure.
In a fit of panic, he tried to access the system to get in touch with the one who had been helping him all this time. He had done everything that the mysterious figure had said and was told that there would be no problems.
He would easily be able to overpower the other Human’s forces, killing Jayce in one fell swoop. After he had completed the task, he would then be crowned the new King of the entire Earth.
He spammed the call button which he had used to contact the figure many times beforehand. It was only after a few seconds that the call was answered.
“What is it? Have you defeated Let me Cook already?” The sound of a heavily altered voice sounded in his mind.
“You lied to me! You said that the power you gave us would easily be able to take out that man. How come he’s able to destroy my army in one strike!?” Amon’s bearded face was contorted in panic and anger, venting out his grievances.
“Huh?” The mysterious figure let out a sound of surprise before composing itself quickly.
“Is that array set up yet?” It asked, seemingly ignoring the earlier question.
“What kind of question is that!? You motherf*cker. Who gives a shit about some array, we’re about to be wiped out!” Amon was enraged, he no longer cared about respecting the being on the other side of the call.
The figure was silent for a few moments before responding slowly. “Are you done?”
Amon almost spat a mouthful of blood at the nonchalant response. He did his best to contain his anger, knowing that it would not be helpful at this point in time.
Seeing that he had calmed down a little, the figure continued. “Once the array is set up, I will be able to grant you more power. You must hurry and finish it otherwise you won’t survive.”
The bearded man’s eyes flashed open wide after hearing this information. Originally he had thought that the array was just something to keep Jayce and his army trapped to prevent escape, however this was a new development.
“How long will it take for us to receive the power boost after the array is activated?” Amon’s eyes narrowed once again, his mind racing with scenario’s.
Amon almost thought he heard a chuckle from the other party before he got a response.
“Oh it’ll be straight away, don’t you worry.”
The bearded man felt that something was a little off, however he did not have any choice but to believe the other party. He quickly hung up the call, reaching out to one of his people who were activating the array.
“What’s the progress?” Amon said, his deep voice seemingly under control. He had to try and keep his composure in front of his men, lest they panic and screw something up.
“Leader, perfect timing. The array will be up in less than a minute.”
Amon’s heart surged with joy, for once things were going his way. He lifted his head back and let out a triumphant laugh which echoed throughout the town.
“HAHAHAHA!”

Jayce who was looking at the ground in search of Lianna and the others, suddenly snapped his head towards the source of the rumbling laughter. There he saw a short man with a large bushy beard throwing his head back and laughing heartily.
He looked like one of those Dwarves from Lord of the Rings, dressed in his wolf hide and other accessories. Jayce frowned, he already knew the name of the head of the Human traitors, yet he did not know what he looked like.
“Dwarven Warrior…” Once again he felt his anger rise. The man in front of him wasn’t the mastermind behind the attack, but he was the one who had accepted help from the enemies of Humanity.
This was the person who had put the whole world in jeopardy thanks to his greed and personal desires. Jayce couldn’t help but feel the anger which he had been forcing down suddenly threaten to overcome him once more.
Jayce threw his hand up and sent blazing flames into the sky which were at least 30 meters long. Hearing the crackle of the surrounding air and seeing the long tongues of flames, everyone on the ground drew their attention towards it.
For Jayce’s side, they quickly understood the meaning and retreated outside the city to await further instructions. The enemies merely watched on with shock and confusion at what was currently happening.
With Leah still in his arms, he quickly descended to the ground where everyone had gathered, putting her gently on the Earth. Without another word he kicked off the ground and returned to his previous altitude, overlooking the town.
Despite being extremely angry, it was not a burning anger. It was more like a frosty chill which still allowed him to be calm and calculating, feeding off the emotion.
He stared down at Amon who was still laughing like a maniac, his eyes narrowing in response. Jayce said nothing, entering a horse stance like he had done earlier, except this time the surroundings suddenly began to crack and distort.
A tremendous pressure assaulted everything on the ground, almost as if gravity had somehow increased tenfold. Amon suddenly ceased his laughter, however there was still a sense of amusement in his eyes.
Jayce threw down his palm towards the small man.
