141 Chapter 141: Not dead yet?
Boom!
The ground trembled as the massive purgatory snake fell and Alex walked out of it. His body trembled as he staggered out, gasping for air. He always knew the serpent toxic gas attack has always been as light as air. It lacked destructive qualities other than its rotting effect when it comes in touch with something solid.
Even though Alex knew of this he always dodged, leading the mutant beast to believe he could only dodge and had no means of countering it.
Absorbing the beast’s snake scales was extra insurance. He noticed the Gas attack had no effect and this was possible because of a special quality within its snake scales. His gamble worked and he was right.
With the rabid effects of the hell flames, Alex strongly believed he had won since the injuries will keep eating up the beast from within until there is nothing left.
The power of this cat familiar is just too terrifying!
Alex found it hard to consider a situation where he is going against the cat and a possibly new master as a foe. He wasn’t too sure he would win such a battle.
“Sad, who would have thought killing a tiger threat level mutant beast would be this easy... apart from feeling a bit light-headed, I have nothing to complain about! Nice job body!” Alex said excitedly and threw a thumbs up at the cat standing on its head!
Meow!
.....
The cat was excited too. It looked like a beast that has finally conquered a long-lost foe. The duo departed and began heading towards the entrance of the underground facility. While Alex had complete fate in Silver he couldn’t help but feel worried.
By the way, he had no knowledge of what the Ainsworth family’s ability is or what plans Silver has. Right now he can only have blind faith in Silver who instructed him to deal with the purgatory snake and he will deal with Mr. White and the rest.
Alex reached the lake in a few minutes and frowned. Seeing the hole at the bottom of the shallow lake he jumped in without hesitation, landing softly.
Thud!
Surprisingly all the doors were unlocked so he moved through the narrow passageway until he reached the room.
Bleugh!
Blitz was throwing up while the others shielded their eyes. What Alex saw were completely dismembered bodies of team White. On Silver’s hand was mister White’s head with half his body scorched badly and detached. The place wreaked of roasted flesh!
And no it doesn’t smell nice.
“I’m impressed, I should never have doubted you” Alex didn’t seem moved by the scene. He seemed absolutely relaxed in such a place this messy.
“What is more impressive... Me, dealing with a few delinquents or you bringing down a tiger threat level mutant beast in just a few minutes? Even many B-rated guardians and deviants cant do this and only those in the top ten in the B rating ranking list can do it this fast” Silver said with a genuinely impressed look on his face.
Alex seemed to be a more capable knight for their new family already. Beating the purgatory serpent proved his strength has definitely reached the B ratings and that’s extremely impressive for someone who was at the D rating just a hand full of months back.
The other core members of the nameless heard their conversations and sincerely couldn’t determine who was scarier! Alex was like a beast who would meet a foe head on and destroy him or her with absolute strength while Silver was in a whole new league of his own. When looking at him, it felt like they were looking at a serpent far scarier than the purgatory snake.
The two are probably the best at their own fields but they would prefer to antagonize someone like Alex, knowing he is coming for them than someone like Silver who will remain silent and put them in a situation with zero chances of survival!
“Are we done here?” Kung Jun asked.
While he tried to maintain an outward calm look, it was clear he was shaken by the staggering performance of the two whom the public once referred to as the absolute duo.
The more they watched Alex and Silver, the more they felt it is possible for them to reach the same level as the big four or even surpass it if given enough time.
“Yep, I have downloaded all the necessary data on the enhancer prototypes... I have destroyed all information on the system.... The enhancer prototypes have been destroyed and the only thing keeping me away from absolute victory now is to destroy the lab but the charges are set so yea we can go” Silver seemed in a good mood.
After exiting the underground facility, the entire place was detonated. While everyone breathed heavily, trying to get more fresh air, Alex informed the general of the successful mission through a text but he didn’t go into details. That will come later.
“Are you still carrying that around” Alex asked as he gazed at Mr. White’s head in Silver’s hands.
“Yep... I’m working on something so it won’t hurt to have a specimen like this” Silver said calmly as the white nanobots gathered to form a box where he placed the head.
“You are giving me the weird evil scientist vibes right now” Alex said with a strange look on his face!
Meow!
The cat on Alex’s head suddenly stood on its toes as it looked towards the far distance.
Alex’s eyes seemed cold as well as he gazed as something massive slithered their way.
The purgatory snake emerged big its body was riddled with holes and what was left of its organs hanging out. Its eyes were glowing fiercely, and when it opened its mouth, it couldn’t hiss but Silver and the rest saw how messed up its insides are! It didn’t even have fangs or a tongue anymore.
“How the hell is that thing still alive?” Blitz was terrified. Alex and Silver were no longer humans in his eyes, to they are monsters!
