303 Failed mission
Buzzz!
Alex’s eyes turned black as a strong suction force exploded from his body and the trident hidden within the blood-red flames flew into his hands. His body staggered in mid-air and just before he could fall, he felt his back hit against something soft and bouncy.
He tilted his head slightly and saw Sharyn standing behind him. She wrapped her hands around his body and placed them on his chest gently. His body was already covered in golden blood and Alex looked terribly pale but Sharyn didn’t care.
Sob#
Sob#
Sounds of someone sobbing could be heard stunning Alex. He wanted to face her and ask why but he was too weak to do so.
“Next time just run. I don’t ever want to see you hurt this bad again” Sharyn muttered between sobs and Alex felt his heart shiver.
When was the last time someone cried because of his pitiful condition? This brought back memories he had of Tracy, causing him to frown deeply but in the end, he could only sigh in silence.
Swoosh!
.....
Alex’s eyes narrowed and his hand quickly reached for Sharyn’s waist, pulling her to the side while he pointed the golden trident at the throat of the target. His eyes seemed indifferent and cold as he gazed at Kalish.
“What do you plan to do?” Alex asked coldly but Kalish wore an even more dreadful expression on his face
“Look around you. Do you think this is a victory or a defeat” Kalish asked with a fierce look in his eyes.
Only after hearing this did Alex look around. His eyes widened as he saw the entire planet Kamen crumbling.
He looked down and realized the strike which sent Emperor Qikath hurling down did not only stop at the bottom of the ocean but he actually dug so deep he reached the core. The entire ocean making up the entire planet was surging into the hole. The world was shattering with cracks spreading everywhere. Lightning surged dangerously and countless bolts of lightning raced across the sky.
He was too engrossed in the fight that he failed to notice what was happening around him.
But who the hell is to be blamed?
It was a battle of life and death. He and no other choice but to fight with all he had.
“If I lost we would be dead anyway. I fought. I won. I have no regrets!” Alex responded coldly.
He refused to apologize for things that he has no control over.
On earth, when humans fight wars even before the introduction of devinat powers, were ants, animals, and even other humans are a part of the list of casualties.
Who apologized?
Might makes right!
They fought, with their lives on the line and he won.
Why would he bother with the ants and insects unable to resist his power?
“Impudent!” Kalish growled furiously and pounced on Alex but surprisingly, a red beam shot out of Alex’s body and smashed into Kalsih covering him in blood-red flames as the spun violently until he fell into the hole below.
Screams and cries for help filled the air and Alex could only stand and watch. With his current strength, he could barely take care of himself, and talk more about taking care of others around him.
“Alex...” Sharyn could tell the feelings running through his mind
Although Alex wouldn’t admit it he felt annoyed that his actions cost the lives of so many who had nothing to do with his fight with the young emperor. The excuse he kept feeding his mind with was that these people were supporting the emperor so indirectly that they were his enemy even though they were mere pawns.
“Let’s go” Alex responded coldly as his eyes let out a white flash!
Damnation!
Bang!
From the chaotic sea, a figure shot out of the water, shooting into the sky and only stopping when it was beside Alex. The cockpit area opened and they all raced into it. There were only four envoys then him and Sharyn with the hellcat. They all managed to squeeze into the dark celestial room with countless stars.
Damnation shot towards the sky, ignoring the chaos below. Only outside the planet would they be truly safe.
As soon as they left Planet Kamen’s atmosphere, and reached space they sent out a distress call to inform the carrier ship located not too far from the Planet to come to pick them up but even that would take days.
Xiu!
Suddenly a massive screen appeared across the darkness of the cockpit and Silver’s image appeared.
“I have been trying to reach you directly but only.... What the hell happened?” Silver was stunned by Alex’s condition. Honestly, he wasn’t aware of any one person who can put him in this condition. Even an army would find it hard or impossible.
“Planet Kamen had an expert who considered himself a God. Two gods met. Two gods fought. One survived. The planet and everyone within it are dead or at least will die in an hour at most. I failed the mission” Alex replied honestly and even though he was weak he stood firm like an immovable mountain.
Hearing this Silver paused for a while it seemed to consider some things before speaking up again.
“You failed at a lot of things but you never have been incompetent. If you couldn’t unite the planet to join us, we will lose” Silver said thoughtfully before speaking his mind.
“My plan failed too. I tried to liberate the earth. I succeeded but the third Danite prince who occupied this planet was killed. Now we have no leverage over the Danites and they now have all the reasons to wipe out the earth. I need you back. We need you back here” Silver said before bowing slightly.
Seeing this, Alex was stunned. Silver was the type that would never submit to anyone, regardless of the situation. If he dared to do something like that then the situation must be really bad!
Alex could only shoot him a cold glance and look away as he pondered in silence.
