"Is that…"
Myria slightly raised her hand and pointed at the apocalyptic flame essence.
"Indeed. It's a Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Flame Essence… that I managed to find hidden deep within the core region of the volcanic mountain range. For that, I had to embark on an extreme adventure that almost killed me, but I don't want to talk about it as I'm exhausted…"
Davis waved his hand, utterly lying with a straight face before he smiled.
"Fortunately, it seemed to be a newborn, so I managed to tame it with one of my trump cards. Myria, I would appreciate it if you could protect me during this time. You too, Fairy Thunderblaze."
He waved his hand at Fairy Thunderblaze, causing her to frown in a confused manner.
Davis inwardly laughed when he imagined what Fairy Thunderblaze would feel if she had known he made an Annihilative Heavenly Flame Essence into an Apocalyptic Flame Essence. She would be even more pissed than him due to the fact that she badly needed annihilative heavenly flame essence from what he could see, as he was sure that the imbalance between her lightning and fire was starting to irritate her both physically and mentally.
After all, one was annihilative lightning while the other was Blazing Thunderlight Kirin's flame. Perhaps the two of these energies had some cohesion, but ultimately, he imagined that the irritation would finally seep into her Will as he was also a victim of this irritation, although it was negligible due to his extraordinary Will.
For Fairy Thunderblaze, he wondered how powerful her Will was, but it was a pity that she wasn't willing to offend him, at least not openly.
Nonetheless, this newborn's heat was unbearable even for him.
After admonishing and repeatedly conveying that they were not targets, enemies, or food with Heart Intent and a bit of acting, Davis finally made it understand, although he didn't know if its instincts would suddenly take over and start a destructive episode.
The others could only watch him act like he was in a play, leaving them speechless. The horror of the Emperor of Death all came crashing down at that moment, but still, they felt like they had seen another side of him, the one that was unlike what people would deem as wicked.
"Let me see…"
Myria boldly came closer to the Apocalyptic Flame Essence.
She was only a meter away from it, vulnerable to being incinerated in an instant that Davis wanted to tell her to move away. However, this action also told him how much he trusted her.
"The apocalyptic flame is an amalgamation of the flame of destruction and the void of space, the fusion of Fire and Space Laws, rare and otherworldly, especially with its destructive properties. If anything, the Dark Void Flame Spirit Tribe can probably consume it, although it remains to be seen if they could withstand its powerful Will."
"…"
Davis threw his gaze toward the three members of the Dark Void Flame Spirit Tribe, causing them to shudder.
"We don't dare!"
Their surviving leader of the Dark Void Flame Spirit Tribe instantly relayed his intentions for fear of being killed as a precaution. He even went on one knee, causing Davis to be astonished, but once again realized how much of a monster he was in their hearts.
Myria's lips curled a bit as though a hint of pride flashed past her expression.
"Most likely, they would be consumed instead as this is an Immortal Emperor Grade Flame Essence, not to mention that it could be considered a Heaven-Tier Spirit Attribute Source."
"Hmm. That's true."
Davis stood up, finally letting the Apocalyptic Flame Essence go. It was no longer restrained and could go berserk at any time.
However, it didn't move and calmly watched Myria through its senses.
It felt a similar life aura from her, the same as Davis, causing it to wonder if this woman would feed it.
'Unfortunately, she doesn't have apocalyptic flames to feed you…'
Davis understood its thoughts and inwardly laughed.
They continued to stare at each other before the Apocalyptic Flame Essence finally moved, floating past Myria and heading toward the crowd.
Davis was ready to make a move to suppress it but had second thoughts and tried to let it become familiar with the others. Perhaps it could start to intrinsically understand that it shouldn't attack unless attacked. It went around like a dog, sniffing out its aura as though truly familiarizing their undulations.
However, it was also funny to watch as everyone, even Fairy Thunderblaze, remained stiff in its presence.
Funnily enough, Eldia stared at it with narrowed eyes as though she wasn't amused about this situation, making him wonder if it was a good thing to form a spirit pact with the Apocalyptic Flame Essence as they might clash. Besides, having an overly powerful spirit or a Spirit Attribute Source would limit his own usage of soul force and would make him exhausted quickly as a part of his soul would have to endure the weight of the pact.
ραΠdαsΝοvel.cοm However, Davis saw that it stopped for more than three seconds in front of Lea, causing him to send a soul transmission.
"Do you want to try making a spirit pact with it?"
"Uh?"
Lea almost flinched but quickly replied, "I- I don't know…"
Davis couldn't help but smile lightly as he heard the eagerness in her voice but also the trepidation she had for such a powerful Apocalyptic Flame Essence.
Considering that his Lea indeed practiced in Flame Laws and Space Laws, he knew she would want it when Myria mentioned the essence of the apocalyptic flame and asked her, but he didn't know if her powers would be compatible with her considering she had the Burning Phoenix Flames instead of the Blazing Thunderlight Kirin's Flames.
'Wait a minute… the Apocalyptic Flame Essence only has ten percent of annihilative heavenly flame essence with it, and the other ninety percent is full of apocalyptic flames, so is the latter compatible with Burning Phoenix Flames…?'
Davis descended into contemplation.
Unlike the Fire Phoenix Flames, which were nirvanic in nature, the Burning Phoenix Flames were only slightly nirvanic and more destructive as they had a common ancestor, the Vermilion Bird. He wondered if there was a chance that Lea could successfully form a pact with the Apocalyptic Flame Essence or whether the latter would even accept such a trade with its life.
Looking at the Apocalyptic Flame Essence return to him after becoming familiar with everyone's aura, Davis's gaze flickered as he bent slightly and caressed its apocalyptic flame head with his palm coated in Fallen Heaven's life energy.
"Good spirit~"
He relayed his praising intent with Heart Intent, allowing it to sway as though it was dancing in joy before him.
'Oh? It's starting to understand the nature of my actions…'
Davis was honestly impressed. Although its sentience hadn't grown yet, he could sense that it was highly intelligent, capable of quickly grasping everything, especially with him rewarding its actions with berating or praising intent, which let it know what it should do to not offend him and get more food.
At this rate, Davis wondered if he didn't need to thoroughly discipline it.
Instead, if he increased its prowess more and allowed it to pass its heavenly tribulation, then it would become more sentient and finally know how to restrain its ability and not just throw it around, becoming a powerful companion to them.
