Invisible winds floated around Davis, propelling him forward without much trouble.
He turned to look around, noticing the Variant Dark Dragon quickly closing in despite him using annihilative heavenly wind to clear the resistance in his path of flight. Turning back his head, he shivered as crimson-silver lightning enveloped his body, his pores beginning to exude a dangerous aura, essence energy surging out in greater amounts.
His body became energized when his soles abruptly blasted the air behind him with dark crimson flame and crimson-jade wind, causing him to disappear within the horizon in an instant as his body crackled with lightning.
"What the…"
The Variant Dark Dragon watched the Anarchic Divergent become clad in three different types of heavenly energy that had a suppressive effect even against it as he shot into the distance, rapidly retreating into the misty skies.
It became dumbfounded. It knew the other female Divergent also had heavenly lightning, one that was of an annihilative nature that he would rarely see, but it never knew this man held three such types, causing it to begin scrutinizing him.
"No wonder he's an Anarchic Divergent…"
It muttered in a low voice before the raging winds around it from the flap of its dark wings calmed. Soon, it was covered in mist, and such a huge figure became hidden amidst the mist. If one didn't see it, they wouldn't even know that it existed there. With the restrictive chains wrapped around its legs and sealing its prowess, it was also capable of hiding its own aura to the extreme by casually suppressing its aura.
The fact that its body was fueled by darkness energy only aided in its concealment ability.
A few thousand kilometers away, a purple-robed figure came to a stop. Crimson-silver lightning crackled around him before it receded, causing him to turn and look back.
'It's not giving chase…?'
Davis doubted.
He even wondered if the serpent in the other sector was able to enter this sector and abruptly ambush him, but he didn't think it was the case as he imagined that these twelve sectors fitted with the Twelve Paragon Magical Beasts.
'If I recall correctly… the order of Twelve Paragon Magical Beasts went like this: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Kirin, Turtle, Hydra, Phoenix, Wolf, and Fox…'
Davis had met these beasts in his tribulation, so he knew this information was true but didn't know if the order was correct.
If this was the correct order, Davis knew the magical beast prisoner on the other side should be a rabbit. It could be fast, but he was most interested in meeting the magical beast prisoner in the eleventh sector, wondering what kind of wolf he would meet.
Perhaps it might help him trace Nadia's ancient bloodline, but with that Wicked Tamer Jaxon Harrow drooling after her, he suspected that Nadia's race, the Nether Springs Death Wolf, wasn't present in this era, which only left a dark-attributed wolf to be seen rather than a death-attributed one.
But if anything, he imagined that these prisoners were not the exact representation but were only here as placeholders to the Twelve Paragon Magical Beasts. After all, they were still connected to their grand bloodline even if their bloodline grade was low.
Nonetheless, he felt that the magical beasts were restricted to their sectors. Otherwise, the prisoners might've started fighting amongst themselves with their fiery temperament.
Soon enough, Davis spotted an island and descended, plundering a treasure from it.
Each treasure he saw made his eyes lit up in glee. It was all his. There was no one brave enough to challenge the dark dragon at the get-go, and the dragon itself wasn't chasing him, making this his lucky day. Even though he knew there was a high chance that it would appear at the last second to crush him, he didn't care because he was confident that he could escape, just like how it was confident that it could crush him.
For some reason, he felt that the uneasiness in his heart didn't come from it.
Perhaps it was the realm. After all, the situation was getting precarious, with apocalyptic flames spreading at a faster rate, making him think that the realm was at the precipice of life and death. It was said that it could blow up, it was said that it could slowly be engulfed in flames, and the truth was no genius knew what the end would be as long as they were here as they could die in the blink of an eye.
With that being the case, no amount of safety or precautions could help him unless he decided to take the spatial tunnel back to the First Haven World, but since he was here, he might as well as take all the treasures and concoct the realm pill, taking it as well.
While Davis reconsidered again and again, he already shot across five more islands and took five Mid-Stage Immortal Emperor Grade Treasures.
Most of it was a Mid-Level or High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade heavenly resource of some attribute, if not a special body part of a Paragon Magical Beast descendant, making him think the dragon sector had the best resources. After all, one was facing the strongest creature that has immense physical might normally, so it would be understandable for one to place the precious treasures here the most.
To confirm his theory, he decided to go toward the rabbit sector he speculated about.
The rabbit or the rat was the weakest, and it was said that a transcendent from the Seven-Colored Phoenix Upper Realm challenged it, but since he heard that these people appeared to the north, he imagined that they challenged the first sector in the north, the rat sector.
'This should also mean that the rabbit sector is completely or relatively untouched…'
Davis imagined as he shot toward the distance.
*Ripp!~*
But suddenly, the entire misty skies beside him shifted like heaven and earth changed colors, replaced with a humongous Variant Dark Dragon that brought its claws down upon him.
Davis's lips curled as his body burst with essence energy, turning into an annihilative shape of wind.
"Aha! Got you!"
The Variant Dark Dragon's single claw pierced through his body in half. It grinned with its wide mouth, knowing that it got him as it felt feedback from its claws, the sensations of piercing thick flesh with its huge claws. But then, it suddenly narrowed its eyes, looking at his sliced body turn into an afterimage.
"Impossible…"
The Variant Dark Dragon uttered with a sound of disbelief.
It couldn't understand. Even if this human was ridiculously fast, how could he avoid its wings that came along with its hand? If he had been against a landmass, its wings would've crushed him. If he was in the air, it would've sent him flying, crushing all his bones and causing his organs to tear from within.
To have not only dodged its speedy claw but also escaped its ridiculously large wings that encompassed the heaven and earth would be a feat impossible unless he eluded its perception before it even attacked.
"No, no. You're fast but not fast enough to catch me. It's too bad you're restricted. Otherwise, we could've seriously played tag."
*Bang!~*
The Variant Dark Dragon's gaze shook as it felt something on its head.
It felt that it was a scratch, causing it to raise its hand and scratch its head with a claw, blinking with its four eyes as its pupils reflected a crimson-silver silhouette that instantaneously disappeared from its gaze. It failed to react, only realizing a moment later.
'Did this… did this human just use my head as a springboard to instantly…'
Its jaws widened, its razor-sharp teeth trembling before it threw its head.
"Aoooo!~ Human, how dare you!?"
It spontaneously launched its huge body in the direction he escaped, causing a reverberating boom to echo. A shockwave followed, clearing half of the mist surrounding the area in a second, which abruptly gave it a slight pause as it suddenly caught sight of a few transcendents silently making their way to the islands containing treasures.
*Boom!*
They instantly scampered away, causing the Variant Dark Dragon's eyes to turn bloodshot.
"Damn you all!"
It chased after them in a fury, leaving Davis to head to the other side.
But on the bridge which Myria was standing on, they saw the humongous dragon approaching before it flew in a curve and returned to the misty skies. She looked towards the side and saw a crimson-purple-robed woman heavily breathing but could also see that her eyes were full of delight.
"You're taking advantage of his movements."
Myria smiled, causing Fairy Thunderblaze's body to tremble as she laughed lightly.
"Am I the only one?"
Myria shook her head, turning to see into the distance where numerous Empyreal Monarchs stood at the ledge, wanting to try their chances, but fled miserably after being spotted and chased by the Variant Dark Dragon. It was so fast that they had to use their fastest speed or even use escape arts or die within a second.
They seemed to be awaiting their chances again, but then a group of people approached her, causing her eyes to narrow but with interest.
"Greetings, fellow immortals. I'm Julaine from the Rising Human Lower Realm, and these people here are my fellow disciples."
A pretty woman clad in white cupped her fists towards Myria and Fairy Thunderblaze before gesturing with her hand to the people behind her.
