"…!"
The Transcendents simply couldn't have enough of him, looking at him with undisguised killing intent as though they wanted to kill and eat him. Since most of them were feys, it wouldn't be any strange if they consumed human meat as well.
Nonetheless, Davis didn't care what they thought of him since he was going to be branded evil regardless of his restraint.
He simply wanted his 'fair' share of resources and cheerfully flew to the realm concoction like a happy-go-lucky teenager. However, his smile slowly receded, knowing that if things went this easier here, there was definitely some huge spike waiting to skewer him at the realm concoction.
There was no basis to his thoughts other than his experience that said if things were going too good to be true, it might collapse at the least expected moment.
Regardless, he understood why they would be so mad at him.
After all, he was forcing everyone to give him their spatial rings or suffer the consequences with the twelve prisoners on his side when back a few hours ago, he only demanded resources from those who wanted to retrieve their fellow disciples.
To Davis, he never remembered inviting the others. It was their fault for coming to see him when they should be going around searching for treasures. Who told them to come here in mass? Did they all assemble to deal with him?
Inwardly, he was pissed off.
"Good, you're good."
Charles Dawnbreaker's expression broke into a calm smile as though his previous care for his life or the lives of the Transcendents had been nothing more than an act.
"Anarchic Divergent, Divine Emperor of Death. You have surely won this game of hunting for treasures, but do you dare promise us one thing?"
"What is it?" Davis asked, his tone indifferent.
"Do you dare to face us at the realm concoction without these vile fiends?"
"You think I'm afraid?"
Davis's lips curled into a smile full of disdain, "You geniuses seriously don't give up even after I made you all restricted enough to fume with your farts held. I don't know what kind of umbrella your powers provide you with, but in my world, it's always a matter of life and death, so if any one of you dares to attack me or my people during the realm concoction, don't expect any mercy from me."
"That's fine."
Charles Dawnbreaker smirked, waving his hand as he sent a jade container flying towards Davis.
Before Davis could get it, the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit's huge figure disappeared. When it reappeared, it stood beside Davis, appearing to be a black-white-robed woman whose silvery hair flailed ever so lightly with the gentle breeze.
She reached out her fragile hand and caught the jade container, inspecting it with her senses.
"This is…"
The Lunar Blackclaw rabbit was shocked, but Davis was confused as he saw that it was nothing more than a Low-Level Immortal King Grade Treasure. Was this supposed to be a gift to him, intended to make fun of him?
However, looking at the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit's reaction, he delayed his response, turning to look at Charles Dawnbreaker, who kept a smirk on his face, appearing proud.
"That's right. It's the Fruit of Benevolence and Indifference, directly harvested from the Tree of Regret located in Saintess Veneria's Garden, capable of bestowing insights into Heart Laws to those who have the ability to comprehend it. Oh- I'm sure you do not know who Saintess Veneria is but don't worry. She is an Empyrean the likes of an Anarchic Divergent can never near."
He uttered as though bragging about meeting with a Saintess of that caliber.
Davis wondered if he was supposed to feel jealous, but looking at the reactions of the other Empyreal Monarchs, he guessed that was the reaction Charles Dawnbreaker expected from him.
"Saintess Veneria does indeed have the Tree of Regret, which produced this particular fruit that massively increases Sound Laws and Desire Laws. I have received this as a gift from Saintess Veneria and consumed it before, but it's a pity I was unable to comprehend Heart Laws."
A soul transmission fell on Davis's mind. Naturally, it was from Myria, giving him more confidence about this fruit.
"That means you know Charm Laws? Why have you not used it on me yet?"
"Scoundrel. Concentrate on the matter at hand~"
Davis replied, causing Myria's cheeks to redden.
Davis inwardly chuckled with delight. Desire Laws were a fusion of Illusion Laws and Charm Laws, so if Myria did aim to comprehend Heart Laws, then she must've tried to comprehend Charm Laws as well.
"I see." Davis took the fruit from the jade container. It appeared like a peach, causing him to smile as he brought it towards his face.
"I'll gracefully accept this fruit, perhaps even occasionally rub my cheeks on it while thinking of my Saintess's lovely-"
"You dare!?"
Charles Dawnbreaker roared, not even realizing that Davis was looking at Myria while rubbing the peach on his face, causing her to shudder ever so lightly that even her ears turned red again.
"Brat! Shut your mouth."
The Variant Dark Dragon that was near to them reached out its claws, drawing around the air as it intentionally ripped the space apart, dragging a line along as though cutting his neck.
Davis turned to look at Charles Dawnbreaker as he casually placed the Fruit of Benevolence and Indifference in the jade container and cupped his hands, gesturing with a wave of his hand.
"Many thanks. You can leave freely."
With this treasure, he felt that he could increase Mingzhi's Enigmatic Heart Laws, finally having a great souvenir for her.
Charles Dawnbreaker appeared livid, as though his idol had been insulted, but eventually, he relaxed and spoke.
"That is a valuable treasure, auctioned off for billions of High-Level Transcendent Crystals, even hundreds. The last piece sold for eighty billion High-Level Transcendent Crystals, but I got it as a gift, intending to use it but didn't need to do so as I eventually achieved my breakthrough through sheer comprehension ability. Subsequently, I thought I could keep it as a keepsake, but the lives of my comrades are far more important. Therefore, I demand everyone from my Dawnbreaker Family gets to leave."
His voice was solemn, as though he would decide to fight if Davis said no. However, Davis didn't care, waving his hand again.
"Of course. The Dawnbreaker Family can leave. You have paid respects to my grand self with a valuable gift, after all."
Davis uttered as though he couldn't wait to send them off, causing Charles Dawnbreaker's brows to twitch, but eventually, he turned around and left with his people. The others moved slightly but didn't dare take a step again as they saw the prisoners also take a step towards them, their senses locked onto every single one of them.
The prisoners also gazed at the treasure he held, feeling some desire as this treasure could indeed sell for billions of High-Level Transcendent Crystals as far as they knew. It was a famous and well-sought treasure, after all, unable to be easily attained, for those who have it can even claim Saintess Veneria gifted it to them because that was the only way this fruit was distributed, consequently bringing them immense influence in their powers.
Surprisingly, the Lunar Blackclaw Rabbit lady didn't seem to have the rune on her forehead that still restricted their souls, which told them that she managed to garner a certain amount of trust from the Emperor of Death.
She kept the treasure in her brand new spatial ring, continuing to head forward and collect the offerings from the puny Monarchs, her actions telling them that she had decided to subordinate herself to this Anarchic Divergent whom they couldn't see the depths of, making their eyes gleam with a myriad of thoughts.
