"It's true that we invited her and the Guardians, but to appear after the brides appeared, that's a bit foul..." ©
"I don't think Saintess Lunaria cares as she probably hasn't attended any social events for a long time. Regardless, it's going to be somewhat stormy in the First Haven World for a while..."
Shirley shook her head while Isabella sighed ever so lightly.
They understood that Saintess Lunaria might've not intentionally done it, and even if she did, she would be taking the limelight regardless of the time she appeared. The fact that the inheritors who gathered went on their knees despite their influential status meant she commanded such respect even back then.
No matter where she appeared, she would be in the spotlight. Her legends knew no bounds as this was her world, the world she brought peace to.
Meanwhile, the Patriarchs and Grand Elders were utterly dumbfounded but not as much as the inheritors who remembered Saintess Lunaria's visage. Some inheritors weren't born in her time, but they were equally stunned as they had heard her legends when growing up.
She was nearly a deity to them, a character who deserves the utmost respect from them.
Great Ancestor Zenflame and Great Ancestor Rocksunder appeared to be lost in emotions. Saintess Lunaria was someone whom they arbitrarily pursued whenever they had the chance to see her graceful self, but she paid no heed to anyone. Even Great Ancestor Rocksunder's son, the Azure Dragon, who appeared in the legends, also had a tough time courting her.
But now, Saintess Lunaria was alone. She appeared with a group of people who could possibly be the rumored Guardians of the Aurora Cloud Gate.
It was possible she never ascended along with the Azure Dragon or even married him and went into seclusion the moment the Azure Dragon ascended. This created the illusion that she had gone together with him, but it seemed like it wasn't the case anymore.
They were a bit prideful as they felt like they guessed right.
Saintess Lunaria was still here, and hence, the Aurora Cloud Gate remained strong and righteous throughout the years, almost four million years to be exact. They never made big moves like conquering lands and kept to themselves in this Domain like mysterious beings, which finally answered many questions as to why no ambitious people stepped out from them.
The top never changed hands.
Great Ancestor Zenflame sighed ever so lightly. If only he had ended his second son back then, the Fire Phoenix Clan's upper echelon wouldn't have been so arrogant and self-serving. Because of Reselius's teachings, they had strayed from the path a phoenix would usually take.
A phoenix was an arrogant bird, but it wasn't self-serving either; rather, it liked to spread kindness and peace as it happily lived along with its mate. It was said that only because of this virtuous nature did the heavens bestow it with the ability to resurrect from their ashes.
*Whoosh!~*
"Empress Isabella, what's going on? How come the Saintess is still here? Does this mean you-"
The Golden Crow Clan's Patriarch, Soaren Goldsun, appeared before Isabella and Shirley, but in his eagerness, he saw that he closed the distance that he was only a hand's reach away from them, causing him to take a few steps backward.
"Does this mean you all knew of Saintess's existence from the very beginning?"
He continued, causing Isabella to nod as she lowered her hand ever so lightly.
"That would be the case."
"It's not like we have a great relationship with her." Shirley rode the boat.
Her words caused immense waves in the crowd as they felt the Emperor of Death must have met Saintess Lunaria way back when he entered the Aurora Cloud Gate. After all, would the upper echelon of the Aurora Cloud Gate leave an Anarchic Divergent to roam around their sect without contingencies in place?
Suddenly, it all clicked for them.
The fact that the Emperor of Death exiled himself and Saintess Lunaria gifting him for his wedding with two dragon queens meant that they had a status quo to maintain where they each respected each other's boundaries, knowing that each possessed an
undeniable threat that kept each other in check.
'Holy heavens....'
The sound of thunder repeatedly rumbled in their minds, making them feel that it was worth coming to this wedding even if they had somehow incurred the wrath of the Emperor of Death and died today!
Suddenly, Mingzhi was swarmed, and everyone kept begging her for a copy of the recording she had in the Imagery Stone.
If it were before, when they were in need of wealth to meet the evergrowing demand for resources in the family, she would've agreed and negotiated for a higher price, but now, her lips curled into a sexy smirk behind her veil as she opened her mouth.
"Nope~"
She utterly disrespected their magnificent statures and recorded even that, causing them to fume, but they could only hide that with an unsightly smile.
"If you need it no matter what, then ask my husband, the Divine Emperor of Death. Perhaps he might have the heart to share."
She dropped a few words and escaped before anyone could steal it from her, not that they would try to, as Nadia landed on her shoulder in her tiny form, radiating a deathly aura that made people's hearts sink.
Nonetheless, with the wedding ceremony over, Isabella and Shirley began to politely send off the guests.
Their stature was high, so none took offense. Besides, they were all eager to relay what they had seen back to their powers as this was sky-shattering news!
The Saintess who brought peace to their world was still alive!
Natalya, Fiora, and Esvele also helped in sending off the guests from within the venue while Isabella and Shirley stood near the arch and gestured to the passageway that led towards the island's exit, where a spatial tunnel was constructed to send them out from the Aurora Cloud Gate directly.
This left many in dismay as they still wanted to remain in the Aurora Cloud Gate and somehow have the opportunity to see the fabled legend. They wanted to bask in her saintly aura once again, feeling like they missed it before.
However, Isabella and Shirley strongly and politely kept repeating words of gratitude for showing up, but the place they stood only translated those words into telling them to leave, making them leave reluctantly.
They also missed the feast that gave them immense benefits.
Many realized that the women in the Emperor of Death's harem here were too strong, both in prowess and having influence over the Emperor of Death's actions. They didn't even let him out and guarded the mansion from letting allies in, which only made Patriarch Fenren Jadelight and the others laugh.
A man had his woes when he wanted so many women.
They were also understanding and didn't disturb him that night, so after exchanging pleasantries, they all left one group after another.
"Fairy Aila. Fairy Mei."
Isabella stood at the arch as she saw them leave.
Her words made them stop in place, causing them to turn to look at her and Shirley.
