Davis kissed Everlight's cheek and let her go, turning to look at the guests while Everlight did the same.
Even now, she couldn't believe so many people came.
Of course, she could tell most of them were attracted here by Saintess Lunaria's influence, but she was glad many people were able to come to this ghost city regardless. She didn't care if many people attended or not as she had been a Guardian of the Magical Beast Sanctuary and looking at big events was commonplace to her, but the fact that a large number of Immortal Emperors visited and were tame in their home was enough for her to feel zealous over Davis.
After all, this only proved that they were scared or highly cautious to sever the slightest bit of cordiality they had with her husband.
Davis waved his hand and hired workers from the Aurora Cloud Gate to begin serving dishes.
Each and every one of their movements and serving dishes were carefully done as though they were walking on needles. After all, they were serving Immortal Emperors and even Saintess Lunaria, allowing them to act like they were born to this,
In fact, even if they were not paid a high wage, they were willing to do it just to be able to witness Saintess Lunaria.
That's how overzealous yet fearful they were right now.
The banquet began and proceeded for an hour, and everyone was satisfied with the feast. How can they not be when the quality of the meat was top-tier?
Davis didn't serve them Phoenix meat though. That would be plainly rude as the matters of the Fire Phoenix Clan were put behind in order to move forward, and neither did he use the magical beast meat of most of the Paragon Magical Beasts, hoping not to get on anyone's nerves as today's dishes were full of goat, goose, rat, sparrow and many more authentically bought from famous stores.
During this time, they accepted gifts from the people who appeared.
Those who only came for Saintess Lunaria had to thicken their faces and give something on the spot since even Saintess Lunaria and the saint couple gifted them. Even though they were curious as to what gift Saintess Everlight received, they could only guess. It gnawed on their souls, but knew they could not overreach here.
Soon enough, one man rose up to the altar to present his gift.
"This is a medicinal pill that immortalizes the egg of a woman faster." He said, his lips curling with a sly smirk as he sent it to Davis in a jade container.
Davis accepted it and forwarded it to Shirley, who glared at the white-robed man who had walked up the stairs and stood in front of them.
It was none other than Saint Riyal Mendez. He clasped his hands behind his back and dropped shoulders and slightly bent knees, appearing rather casual.
"I must say, you sure have quite the illustrious lineup I have ever seen in my lifetime…"
His eyes flashed as he panned his gaze around and shot a look over to Shirley, his gaze turning sharp.
"Do you want to die?"
Davis asked with a bright smile.
If it weren't for the marriage, there would definitely be a dead body here.
"Don't misunderstand me." Saint Riyal Mendez raised his hands in surrender, "I'm not disrespecting them but admiring them. Just look behind me and see how many of these men keep throwing glances at your wives."
Davis's smile receded as he looked over.
Even when Saint Riyal Mendez was here, most men were glancing at the sidelines where his women stood, some eating and some being social.
Isabella, Natalya, Mingzhi, and Lea were all socializing with the female Immortal Emperors who came to see how magnificent and powerful they were, so there was a heavy circle of women that garnered the gaze of the men.
Even from the altar, he could see how magnificent his women were as they prepared for this occasion, dressing up as majestically as possible without coming off as glamorous. They caught many eyes of the crowd, but at the same time, Clara, Tia, Sophie, Ellia, Zestria, Bylai, Yilla, Panqa, and Lanqua, who were on the sidelines, either eating or doing their own thing, didn't lose as they were like flowers in the garden.
They were in a room of vine created by Lereza, and she stayed there with them, so the protection they had was quite impenetrable.
When the men saw them and returned the gazes to the altar, he could feel a lot of jealous gazes, especially from the so-called heavenly geniuses whom he had let in in the past hour since denying a banquet wouldn't look good for the city.
"So what? Gazing from a distance is one thing, but appearing in front of us and staring is another thing altogether."
"True…" Saint Riyal Mendez wryly smiled.
"Did you think about my borrowing my expertise?"
It made Davis sigh, "By now, you would think that climbing off the altar would be a better choice."
"Alright, alright. I understand, but if you ever chan- alright, I'll be gone…"
Saint Riyal Mendez raised his hands again before he turned around and left upon seeing Davis's fingers flicker as though he was going to make a move.
"Hopefully, this idiot Saint won't get killed today~"
Shirley giggled as she turned to look to her side and saw Evelynn glaring at him, killing intent. It made Saint Riyal Mendez shiver as he ran away and went to greet the saint couple but was met with a hurl of elegant insults from Saint Alaric Valerian.
"Well, don't bother yourself with that idiot. He is already on my plunder list."
Hearing Davis's soul transmission, Evelynn cracked an amused smile.
She had heard about this Saint from her sisters as gossip was prevalent, and everyone wanted to know what Davis's adventures entailed, so Isabella poured out everything they learned.
If such a sick man appeared here, she wanted to do nothing but behead such a person to protect the sanctity of the harem. In her mind, they belonged to Davis, and no one else should even think about looking at them with strange ideas.
She nodded, letting the gifting session continue as the Early Stage Immortal Emperor was unable to keep his calm in front of Evelynn's malevolent Emperor-Tier aura. He couldn't even move after Shirley gestured for him to appear and gift.
Nonetheless, after two seconds, the guest reclaimed himself and managed to gift them, and like this, Davis and Everlight had to look at hundreds of Immortal Emperors, which practically tired them.
They didn't expect such a turnout in the first place. If they did, they would've assigned one of their sisters to take care of the gifts, but Davis intended to introduce the well-hidden Everlight to his family members, so he was bummed now he had to introduce her to everyone.
However, he wasn't worried.
Why? Because the tiara on her head was precisely one that concealed her Emperor-Tier aura.
As long as it was on her head, it also restricted her prowess. It appeared to be gifted by Saintess Lunaria herself before the marriage, a parting gift that allowed Everlight to conceal herself better.
Davis could only wryly smile at this fact as this meant Saintess Lunaria could also forge, but most importantly, she was able to counter the Emperor-Tier aura of a Nine Lives Gracious Fox.
'Damn, the World Master's offspring sure is talented beyond compare…'
He had only given Everlight for a short time, but she had already come up with suppressive methods.
Davis felt that it was a pity that she remained here. Otherwise, she might've become an Empyrean long ago and would've even reached the next stage, advancing beyond the unknown stars, that is, at least if she didn't get killed halfway in the future.
Nonetheless, for the turnout, he could at least praise himself for having many chefs to take care of the food problem as it looked like they had a satisfying feast.
Soon, the next and final ceremony began, the exchange of oaths.
