Davis, Myria, and Ellia walked towards the courtyard, coming from another path leading to the other side of the mansion.
"You're safe~"
As soon as he appeared in the courtyard, a group of beautiful women came hovering, stopping before him, allowing Evelynn to speak first.
She looked relieved after seeing his face. This was true not only for her but for everyone who was afraid that he might be forced to ascend. To them, this was nothing short of a miracle.
They didn't know why the World Master didn't send Davis and Myria away. Of course, they were curious but didn't ask as they didn't want to rattle away their lucky miracle.
They looked at him closely, knowing that he was here to stay.
"Well, we will know soon if Myria and I are truly safe, but let's just take care of the matters at hand. Is Saintess Lunaria nearby?"
Davis's tone made them smile because he appeared confident. They didn't know if he had a reason to believe that he would not be forced out but they believed him to come through anything.
"Alright," Evelynn nodded, "Yes, she is nearby. She summoned a floating palace in the nearby mountains and is waiting for you. I think she would wait for a day or two but you're already out, so that's a relief. Otherwise, we would've went to war with them as she really did seem to have made the decision to kill you."
"Aha." Davis chuckled, reaching out his hand to touch Evelynn's cheek, "Don't worry. Killing me is nigh impossible for the people here, and Saintess Lunaria wouldn't touch you all, so don't bring it to heart."
"If you say so…"
Evelynn pouted. A few others didn't seem amused as well.
At this moment, Mingzhi came forward, "Who is chaotic? Your life is chaotic, bitch!~"
She walked aggressively towards him, waving her hand and insulting him, but as soon as Davis wrapped his arms around her when she stepped into his range, her expression froze before she started to relax.
"There… there…"
Davis caressed her head, calming her emotions as he used Heart Intent to soothe her. His powerful soul was capable of handling Mingzhi's.
He could feel two kinds of energies brimming out of her in a fused state, causing his eyes to flicker. He noticed something.
Mingzhi's hair was dyed. She actually dyed one side of her hair, causing him to drench a strand with a bit of water energy. It appeared to turn white, making his lips curl.
"My Mingzhi has become powerful, hasn't she?"
"I did…"
Mingzhi pouted, "But it's too hard to control at the moment. I need some time to rest and control it, but you… you say you're going to leave…"
She closed her eyes, stopping her tears from falling.
"I'm sorry." Davis pursed his lips before he looked forward, "I apologize to all of you."
"You did leave us, but we also told you to leave, so it's all fine~" Natalya giggled.
Her voice was one octave higher as though wanting to paint this was the consensus they had reached, causing Davis to smile sheepishly as his Natalya always got his back.
Nonetheless, he felt heartened to be able to remain here.
The guilt he was feeling was washed away since he wasn't forced to exit. However, the matter wasn't over, as the World Master was probably waiting for them to talk. The problem was he didn't know when the World Master would appear next time, so until then, his job was to placate his wives, Saintess Lunaria, and the world was probably too afraid of him right now.
He kissed Mingzhi's forehead, telling her to rest properly before leaving them all here.
Myria went with him.
They traversed together to the nearby mountains and appeared at the palace. There, they met with the Void Dust Empress in the skies.
"You seem sane."
"Senior…" Davis's lips curled wryly, "Sorry about the scare. It wasn't my intention to frighten anyone."
"So you really did pull everyone's soul? How is that possible when you have not even reached the Immortal Emperor Stage, no that kind of range isn't even possible even if you become an Immortal Emperor but- you- you even tugged master's soul…"
"…"
Davis made gestures with a wry smile as though he was trying to explain but couldn't, leaving the Void Dust Empress quite speechless.
He then finally opened his mouth, "I trust that Stella is doing well?"
"Thanks to you~" The Void Dust Empress seemed confused.
Still, she nodded and gestured, "Let's go see master."
"Alright."
Davis nodded.
He was allowed entry, so grasping Myria's hand, he flew to the palace.
The Void Dust Empress noticed them together and couldn't help but smile. She wanted to see them together, so as a tree who wished people to be fruitful, she felt gratified.
Davis and Myria hovered through the entrance and made their way to the hall. It was a straight path connecting a huge hall with an open chamber. At the end, there was a throne, and Saintess Lunaria sat there while all six remaining Guardians stood side by side, three to the left and three to the right.
They seemed to know that he had come as they glared at him sharply.
Now that Davis thought about it, he noticed this place was quite sturdy- no, the most sturdiest palace he had ever seen as he guessed that this was beyond Peak-Level Immortal Emperor Grade, right below Empyrean Grade.
'This must've cost a huge amount of immortal crystals and ores to make…'
Davis imagined.
Just as he arrived at the chamber, the Void Dust Empress gestured to Myria to the side, causing Myria to look at him.
"I'll take care of it."
Davis flicked his head to the side, telling her to stay out of this mess.
Myria considered for a moment before she nodded. Even if she went to the center, she didn't know how she could explain all this mess was due to dual cultivating out of her own mouth.
As soon as she started thinking about it, her cheeks only burned in shame.
She also wished he could be discreet about it, but if it was going to get him in trouble, then she wished for him to explain everything. Although she considered Saintess Lunaria a rival, she was anything but a joke.
They were true monsters who eluded the hunt and remained alive until this day.
*Clang!~*
Just as she watched Davis arrive at the center, a blinding black and white chain emerged from the ground and wrapped around Davis in an instant, catching him in place. Six chains firmly caught him in place, disallowing him to move, and at the same time, the six ends of the chains were held by the six Guardians.
They were no longer standing near Saintess Lunaria but had surrounded Davis in an instant- no, they were already standing there and the original silhouettes were nothing more than an illusion.
However, Saintess Lunaria seemed to be still seated on the throne, her expression solemn.
"…"
Davis looked quite shocked, not expecting such a trap waiting for him. It happened so fast that Fallen Heaven who was on speed dial was moment's away from killing them if he hadn't stopped it after using it instinctively.
"What is the meaning of this!?"
Just as Davis found that his cultivation was also sealed on top of being bound by these unbreakable chains that seemed to be beyond Peak-Level Immortal Emperor Grade, Myria finally seemed to have come to her senses and roared.
She burst forward, moving closer to Davis, but a wave of wind emerged and pushed her back, causing her to look at Saintess Lunaria with a glare as she regained balance.
Saintess Lunaria stood up, her eyes appearing colder than a devil.
