"…"
Evelynn's eyes quivered, and she felt light pass through her eyelids. This meant it was still daylight.
As soon as she regained consciousness, she could sense that she was lying flat on a cold surface, causing her to feel some chill. Her eyelids trembled in an attempt to wake up, but the wave of drowsiness filling her was too strong.
Her eyes seemed to be shut tight, and her senses didn't even move past her two meters away from her.
She noticed that her spatial ring, life ring, defensive necklace, defensive ring, and even her defensive robe had disappeared, leaving her clothed in white like a peasant woman.
Eventually, she managed to open her eyes. A clear sky came into her view, one that lacked clouds, yet the world was so bright. Some locations were radiating a ray of brightness as though a big spotlight was placed on the surface, directed towards the sky.
The light traversed in different directions to the skies, making her wonder where she was as she sat up. As her hand grazed the ground, she found that she was seated on dirt, and a few meters away from her, there was some grass and bushes.
She discovered she was at the edge of a forest as in one direction, trees grew and in the other, it was barren.
Her spider bones stabbed to the ground and pushed her up, allowing her to stand up and measure the surroundings.
"What dense heaven and earth energy…"
Evelynn heaved a breath, inhaling the heaven and earth energy. She felt like even Immortal Emperors would improve at twice the rate here.
Unfortunately, her cultivation was sealed with nine seals, so no amount of cultivation was going to allow her to increase her cultivation.
Nonetheless, she quickly understood she was separated from Isabella and Shirley as she couldn't find them nearby. She didn't raise her voice in order to search for them but started moving slowly, crouching her way towards the forest to better hide as she didn't feel like she could survive with her measly Level One Immortal King Stage Cultivation, not to mention having her prowess sealed.
She didn't even dare use her cultivation for fear of being discovered and concealed herself. As a Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid proficient in Poison Laws, Darkness Laws, and Hex Laws, she was able to conceal well with Darkness Laws.
However, it didn't reach the level of Nadia, much less the Ghostly Crows.
But— she possessed the Darkness Malevolent Soul that she had taken advantage a lot of times and trained it with Wisteria, so she was better able to conceal herself, at least as good as a Ghostly Crow.
"What…? Wait…"
As she checked her soul, she noticed that her connection with Davis was blocked. She wasn't surprised by it but she was shocked when she saw that Wisteria was missing.
Not only were her personal items taken away, but even her spirit was taken away. She wondered where Wisteria could have been taken away and turned to look at the ray of light in the sky.
These places seemed to be where cultivators would eventually gather, but she wasn't prepared to go there as she felt like she could be killed in one move.
But at this moment, she discovered that there was something in her inner world. There were three items. She willed them out, and they floated out of her inner world, escaping her dantian before floating in the air in front of her. She saw that they had three highly complex runes inscribed on them, yet they were named with a single word.
[Defend]
[Escape]
[Summon]
"…"
Evelynn looked at the three orange talismans, wondering if they were life-saving talismans that were given to them by the World Master or a trial master.
Either way, she gave them a good look, trying to decipher their true use.
At a glance, one of them seemed to be a defensive talisman. One of them seemed to be something that helped them escape, and the third sounded like it could summon Wisteria to fight by her side.
In some cases, spirits were deemed as true companions unlike magical beasts as spirits were souls. She wondered what was the rule regarding magical beasts and spirits as companions or if even magical beasts and spirits could use humans as companions.
She wasn't sure about that and imagined that she would see it when it played out.
Nonetheless, she sent the three talismans inside her inner world and re-concealed herself using a technique. Her Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Inheritance wasn't just for show.
It contained many techniques, including hex techniques, that could be considered arcane and accursed arts by the righteous path. She imagined her techniques would be placed in the core aspects of the wicked path, making her curl her lips.
Soon, she chanced upon a mound.
She initially saw it had crystalline luster from a distance and imagined it would grow to be an earthen mountain. However, she couldn't be any wrong.
"…"
Once she closed in, she saw that the entire mountain was a crystalline structure. What's more, she felt like she had found the source of the dense heaven and earth energy, which was right in front of her.
'What is this place…?'
Evelynn was shaken as she recognized that the entire mountain was an amalgamation of heaven and earth energy. In other words, immortal crystals, yet it was one big structure containing hundreds and thousands of Immortal Crystals, over a hundred Vein Fragments, and around ten Vein Sources, all of them High-Level Immortal Crystals that Immortal Emperors would use!
However, her trembling didn't come from the fact that there was one such mountain. There were at least sixteen in this area as far as she could see, each one of them rising to the peak.
These towering crystal mountains rise towards the sky, their peaks glistening in the sunlight.
She saw sunlight reflected from them and were directed back to the skies diagonally, but under the dense heaven and earth energy, they didn't even make it a quarter of their way. It made her turn back and look at the glaring spotlights reaching into the skies, making her wonder if those were what she thought they were.
'Vein Source mountains of Peak-Level Immortal Crystals…?'
Evelynn's gaze shook.
She couldn't fathom such a thing as even her husband didn't have that many immortal crystals after plundering- no, he did have too many immortal crystals, but they weren't Peak-Level Immortal Crystals, so their value didn't quite match what she saw in the distance.
"Girra~"
At this moment, a grating yet echoing sound spooked her, causing her to crouch and hide behind a tree. She still hadn't come out of the forest, allowing her to lay low. Her senses didn't quite extend past two meters, but here, it practically refused to come out of her body, making her inwardly sigh.
Whatever that made that sound, it didn't seem like good news to her, so she kept quiet and made her way around.
The mountain of immortal crystals was highly reflective. Some surfaces even managed to project her silhouette amidst the trees. If it weren't for her concealment, she doubted that she could remain undetected. They were like mirrors, making her vision go crazy, but at the same time, she didn't fail to notice the menace lurking in those mountains.
It seemed to be a magical beast— or not.
'A turtle…?'
Evelynn's brows twitched as she saw the strange creature. Its features were definitely that of a turtle but its body seemed to be made full of crystals. It smashed its crystal turtle head on the mountain like it was mining and extended out its crystalline tongue and ate the crystals that fell out of the mountain.
Crunching sounds echoed out of the turtle as it seemed to be having a tasty meal, making her brows twitch.
'Just what is that creature…?'
Evelynn had never heard of it but she could sense a dense amount of heaven and earth energy radiating from it. At the same time, she found that it was a Mid Stage Immortal Emperor Beast, something she would find a bit challenging in an unsealed state but now, if she tried challenging it, she might get crushed by its pressure alone.
"…"
Evelynn looked at it for some time, trying to see what the crystalline creature was, only to end up finding more in the vicinity of the crystal mountains.
She decided it wasn't worth it and turned around to leave.
"Ahaha! I'm rich!"
At that moment, a stupidly loud voice echoed throughout the area.
Evelynn garnered it from the other side, so she couldn't see properly. However, she saw the crystalline creatures suddenly stop eating and turn to look toward the source of the voice.
That turtle also seemed interested in that voice, making its way towards it.
Evelynn thought about it and decided to follow, arriving at the other side just in time to see an inheritor use a talisman.
It glowed with a white light before enveloping him and disappearing, leaving the crystalline creatures pouncing on empty space.
"Girrar!~"
"Girrarar!~"
The crystalline creatures bit and clawed each other as though telling them to not interfere but as soon as they looked around and saw that there was no inheritor there, they lost interest and turned around to return.
Evelynn pursed her lips as she couldn't identify that inheritor but he definitely had been a Level Six Immortal King Stage cultivation, meaning that he had only reached the third step. If he had found her, then she would have no choice but to escape using the same method he used.
Regardless, she glanced at the unguarded crystal mountains, wondering if she should plunder, but if she did, then where should she go about storing them since her spatial ring was taken away?
She guessed she could store it in her inner world, but the number of items she could store there was limited, making it a dilemma.
Then again, she was doubtful as to what use these crystals have since she couldn't use them and, hence, failed to see the need to bring them with her.
