Chapter 4032 Fragility Of Faith Laws
After cuddling her, Davis opened his mouth, "Since you were able to meet with the Celestial Transcendent in your childhood, I presume you came from a powerful family. I assume your father was also an Exalt or a Primarch?"
"Not at all," Myria shook her head with an amused smile that shot Davis's heart.
He almost sank himself into her bewitching lips.
"My father was just a supreme genius who reached the peak of Immortal Emperor. He was barely capable of battling an Empyrean, which meant he possessed a prowess that was almost seven levels higher, equal to a Kingly Sovereign, but he passed a certain trial that allowed him to be acquainted with one of the disciples of the Supreme One. He almost got accepted as a disciple, but because mother became pregnant, he didn't leave her, and he lost the chance to to become a great cultivator. Then I was born, and the fact that the tribulation killed my mother became a buzz, but it wasn't doubted since all immortal children need to undergo tribulation. However, it was revealed that I possessed the Azure Life Soul Physique, a unique physique that allows one to use life energy, but it was just misdiagnosed."
"However, it was enough to bring extreme fame and status to our humble family. Old and young Empyreans and Autarchs from all over the world wanted to take me in as their disciple or their wives as they eyed my Azure Life Soul Physique, which allowed me to use life energy and become a Saintess from the start. Even Exalts and Primarchs had their eyes on me, but father didn't bend to anyone's request or threat, intent on nurturing me by himself."
Davis's face puffed up with hostility, causing Myria to giggle lightly.
"Then, the Supreme One visited during one of his Divergent hunts since he had heard about my unique life-attributed physique, and they were able to make acquaintances. I think uncle was moved when he heard that father remained with my mother during her pregnancy. Uncle didn't put on airs when talking to someone, being very jovial and lighting up the atmosphere with his endless charisma."
Myria smiled as she reminisced, but her expression sank in the end.
"Needless to say, the Celestial Transcendent personally declared that no one should harm me or harass me until I became an Empyrean. My father also managed to make it to the Empyrean Stage, probably one of the youngest among the commoners since we were not rich or possessed ancestral property. After that, everything became smooth sailing for us. My father practically abandoned his cultivation and worked hard to buy me numerous things and knowledge, allowing me to grow more erudite day after day and become a full-fledged Saintess until that day when my Azure Life Soul abruptly revealed itself to be the Eternal Life Soul as death energy sprouted out from nowhere."
She couldn't help but smile wryly, "Even I didn't know that I could use death energy at that time, but father was strangely not surprised as though he knew it would happen, so I later theorized that the reason my mother died was not because of an accident but because the tribulation was too strong… because I was born as a dormant Anarchic Divergent."
Davis hugged her more firmly as he caressed her back and placed a kiss on her head.
Myria bit her lips, almost tearing up, but his embrace allowed her to control her emotions.
They stayed silent for a few seconds before Davis remembered that the hide-and-seek demon was probably out to capture him. He sent his avatar to buy more time.
A minute later, Myria finally opened her mouth, "Thank you~"
"No need for thanks. I will always hold you whenever you're feeling down."
Davis gently said. He knew she almost cried because she remembered about her father and mother.
Myria sat up straight and continued, "As far as I know, the Divine Exalt Stage is difficult to achieve since there are some resources that need to be obtained in order to create Godskull, and depending on the level of the Godskull, there are three known levels. I'm not sure what they are, but I assume that they enhance or amplify the faith collected from the worshipers before being used to increase one's prowess or bestow prowess to worshipers as long as they carry totems with them or are near a shrine."
"I see. So the Exalt Stage and the Primarch Stage don't have this kind of cultivation."
"Yes, the Divine Exalt Stage deviates from the Exalt Stage."
"Does that mean they can't use Faith Laws?"
"Of course not." Myria appeared amused, "Everyone is capable of learning Faith Laws but it is even more vague than Karma Laws. Furthermore, it cannot be used for anything. It is practically useless on its own, but the Godskull changes its essence into something that can be used. For example, as a mortal or an Exalt, you could've comprehended Faith Laws, but trying to extract faith from others is like trying to fetch water without a container. They would all spill from one's hands."
"Ahh…" Davis had a spark of realization.
Myria nodded, "That's why dual cultivation was one way to garner Faith Laws, but that also doesn't keep up the faith. Furthermore, one can't keep dual cultivating with millions of others or even with one in the middle of battle. The Godskull collects it and eternally keeps the faith, making it very difficult for worshipers to break out on their own after they gave away their blind faith."
"Ohh…" Davis found all her words interesting.
"In any case, I'm only speaking from what I read in records since I haven't met a Divine Exalt in my life. They were nearly extinct by the time I was born, so don't take my word for granted."
"Haha. I guess Vereina and I met one old relic of a forgotten time then…"
Davis now could imagine what kind of life Lilliana Rayton lived by having numerous worshipers, even some at the Exalt Stage and Primarch Stage. He could only imagine how powerful she had been before the Celestial Transcendent probably helped her victims break off from providing faith.
He felt that it was possible since they were at the Exalt Stage, it would've been easier to break the faith they had in her. He guessed she had only charmed them anyway. How could they give their faith to a Divergent? That wasn't possible unless a powerful force like charm was involved.
'Even dual cultivation was involved… hehe…' Davis could only imagine how many men she had used to warm her bed.
"Tell me more about her." Myria curiously asked.
Davis didn't go into detail back then when describing the old witch as she was grotesque and downright nasty, but now, he laid out everything in front of Myria.
