Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2538 - 2538: Patience

It had been three months since Shinta arrived in this strange land.

Despite being born into royalty and raised with everything she could ever desire, she had never known true freedom. Her world had always been gilded in luxury but confined by invisible chains of duty and expectation. So when she and her father found themselves stranded in this foreign realm known as Tartarus—a world filled with wonders she had never even dreamed of—she was far more thrilled than worried.

Tartarus became unlike anything she had always seen. The air itself seemed alive, brimming with a rich energy she had never felt before, far more potent than what she had experienced in Ouronoros or even in the Magus Academy. Every mountain, every valley pulsed with raw, unbridled power, as if the very land whispered secrets of its ancient past.

“I am a Magus Academy champion,” she had told herself during her first few days in this realm. “I might miss my grand graduation… but when I return, I’ll be a Magus. They’ll write my name in the Hall of Fame. I’ll be remembered as an example for generations to come!”

It was an inspiring thought, one that kept her spirits high. But as the weeks passed, her optimism began to wane.

Three months had gone by, and despite all her efforts, she had yet to achieve a breakthrough. Worse still, she was constantly tormented by the two irritating boys who had ended up in this situation with her.

“Shinta! Look! I can crush this Tier 4 stone like it’s nothing!” Kingrig boasted during his morning training, flexing his muscles and grinning like an idiot.

She barely spared him a glance. He had always been the loud and boisterous one, a show-off with an ego to match his strength.

Meanwhile, Haron, the quiet one, was even more frustrating in his own way. He barely spoke, but his actions were louder than words. Every single day, he trained relentlessly with his sword, sharpening his skills to a frightening degree. He had already surpassed her, and now, she couldn’t even keep up with him.

Shinta let out a long sigh. “So much for the academy champion…”

It wasn’t as if she hadn’t been trying. She pushed herself every single day, but her unique bloodline and dual-element core made progress agonizingly slow. Even with all the guidance from her father, she remained stuck at the same bottleneck.

“Be patient, daughter… be patient,” she muttered under her breath, mimicking her father’s usual words of wisdom. Then, gritting her teeth, she snapped, “Patience, my ass! This is driving me crazy!”

As much as she admired her father’s recent success in the Heaven and Earth Alchemy Competition, deep down, she felt restless. He had been too preoccupied with finding a way to return home as soon as possible, leaving her feeling overlooked. She needed to make use of the time she had in this world.

One thing that intrigued her was the mysterious connection between her wolf bloodline and the prestigious Fey Clan of this realm. Learning that her lineage was tied to a powerful and influential bloodline was like discovering that her distant relatives were nobility beyond anything she had ever known. The thought of meeting them excited her.

More importantly, her blood was needed to confirm both her and her father’s identities.

“I’ll play a crucial role in this,” she mused. “Who knows? Maybe this will finally push me to break into the Magus Realm.”

But her father had been frustratingly protective, forcing her to remain patient in the dull confines of Azure Cloud Mansion while the two boys continued their training. Every day, she was forced to listen to their endless talk about their new accomplishments and breakthroughs, while she felt stuck in place.

“Damn it… How am I supposed to be patient like this?! Everyone around here is a Magus… even the servants are Magus! I’m probably the weakest person in this whole city!”

Days passed like this until a visitor arrived.

It was Kaelyn, the Fey girl.

“I haven’t heard anything from your father in ten days,” Kaelyn said, her expression unusually tense.

Shinta’s heart skipped a beat. Her father hadn’t contacted her in that long?

This was it—a chance to finally leave the mansion. Without hesitation, she agreed to accompany Kaelyn to the Sky Root Clan, where her father had been staying.

The journey was swift, but when they arrived at the grand entrance of the Skyroot Clan’s domain, they were met with an unexpected blockade.

“What’s going on?” Shinta demanded. “I came to visit my father. Where is he?”

The faction guards hesitated. Their eyes darted between one another, clearly unsure of how to respond.

Kaelyn stepped forward, revealing her alchemist insignia and her Fey Clan heritage. The gesture should have been enough to grant them access, yet even with her authority, they were denied entry.

One of the elder members of the Skyroot Clan arrived, but even then, they refused to let Shinta in or allow her father to come out and see her.

“Something is definitely wrong…” Shinta whispered, her hands clenching into fists.

Tension hung heavy in the air, but Kaelyn wasn’t one to back down easily. The Fey girl pressed further, demanding a proper explanation. The pressure she exerted forced the matter all the way up the chain of command, until finally, the patriarch himself emerged to speak with them.

The news he delivered was nothing short of a shock.

“Your father has officially joined the Skyroot Clan as a senior member,” the patriarch declared. “As of now, he is undergoing closed-door training and must not be disturbed.”

Shinta’s breath caught in her throat. “He… what?!”

Joining another clan? This was the first time she had heard of it, and the news was not well received by the Fey girl.

“It seems your father has no intention of coming with us to the Fey clan.”

This remark was overheard by the patriarch, who asked, “Lady Kaelyin, what do you mean? Isn’t he part of your clan?”

The Fey girl’s reply was sharp. “No, he is not.”
