“Prepare for war!” Warnings and gongs echoed across the Chen’s territories.
Formations emerged everywhere but since the Chen no longer had worldly energy and dao power, they resorted to using vitality and jades as power sources.
This was a testament to their rich resource, able to duplicate the same effect with materials alone. Remember, these formations were at the imperial and primal levels. The amount of material used was immeasurable.
“Defend!” Lostmetal and Goldclad gave the order.
After a summoning horn, their legions abandoned other posts and returned to Centurial Peak.
“Lost Legion and Chen Legion… They are only focusing on Centurial Peak.” One protector whispered.
“Something taboo is going on there.” Everyone shared this thought.
The gathering troops were impressive, forming a steel wall at the entrance. They abandoned everything else including the city and kingdom. Only a few groups waited behind.
This defensive measure made it look like they were ready to die in this final fight. It became apparent that something major was going on in Centurial Peak.
In just a short time, a total of five legions posed in the same area. However, they were no longer united. The tense atmosphere suffocated everyone. The steel auras of the two armies made some lose the will to fight.
“Internal strife?” The defenders in the posts shuddered.
This was the main fighting force of Desolate Frontier, enough to sweep through Old World.
“I don’t think there will be a ceasefire this time.” An ancestor commented on the conflict between the desolate branch and the Chen.
“Is there no going back?” His disciple asked with trembling knees.
“No agreement is possible. The Chen are not giving up, they wish to defend their legacy process to the last man standing.” A protector joined in.
“To the death? Ten-realm Emperor committed a crime but not them, they don’t deserve death.” The disciple asked.
“The clan only focuses on themselves, not Desolate Frontier. They will die for this goal.” The protector said.
Other members might abandon their main peaks or let them be taken away. After all, there were other peaks available. However, the Chen was tied to Centurial Peak.
“The clan has a madness to them, pure obsession.” Another disciple said.
“They were taught this way ever since the first legacy process. They truly believe in the possibility of becoming immortal after enough attempts. This goal, to them, is noble and worth any price.” An elder with a strong understanding of the Chen said.
“Only madmen would sacrifice themselves.” The disciple blurted.
“Yes, they will offer their flesh and blood for this grand goal.” The elder said sternly.
