Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy
Chapter 2401: Issue with learning Sun's AuraAfter talking to Scarwolf for a while, Alex came to know that the young man had actually joined the court three years ago. The only reason Alex hadn't seen him until now was because of how secluded he had been for the past couple of years.
Alex left the young man to his duties soon after and returned to the mansion, a sense of accomplishment filling his mind as he did so. Helping someone get started on the journey they had wanted to undertake for so long was quite fulfilling.
Upon returning, Alex began making preparations to leave. Pearl was close to a breakthrough, so he was going to be in closed cultivation for many of the upcoming days. Momo had all but learned everything she could from him, so she was focused on Alchemy by herself as well, not needing Alex's help. And Silvermist didn't need him for anything important anymore.
Thus, Alex decided to leave the court and go to Rosemist, where he would try to learn more about Space and Time through the Void.
Since all he really needed to do right now was cultivate, he could do so on that mountain. The peak there was also high enough for him to try to understand the Sun for when he needed to put his Origin through Transcendence.
After explaining to his master what he wanted to do, Alex arrived at the Pillheaven continent three days later and swiftly made his way to Rosemist's mountain.
As always, Rosemist was happy to see Alex. Her friend had come to visit her, and this time, it seemed it wasn't just for a day or two.
"Let's go to Little Sword's cave. We can talk while you cultivate there. That's what you came here for, right?" Rosemist asked.
"That is partly why I came," Alex said. "But I also have something else I want to do this time."
Alex explained to her about wanting to learn more about the Sun itself so that he could turn it into his Origin."You wish your Creation to be the Sun?" she asked, looking quite surprised. "I have never heard of someone doing that before. At least, not successfully."
"Is that so?" Alex looked up at the sky, where the sun was close to reaching its zenith. "Then I will be the first to do so, then. At least, one you'll have heard of."
Rosemist quickly shook her head, a look of seriousness taking over her smiling face. "It's not unheard of because no one has done it before, but because no one has succeeded before. It should be impossible."
Alex looked back at Rosemist, hoping to see a sliver of a smile on her face—something to tell him that she was joking. "Is it really that hard?" he asked after realizing just how serious she was.
Rosemist nodded. "You have been to space before, so you should know how dangerous the sun is," she said. "But that danger does nothing to us here because most of it is blocked by the Heavens. And precisely because of that, there is no way for you to understand the Sun while remaining in this realm."
Alex paused. The words Rosemist said made sense to him, as that was what he had mostly expected as well. "I was aware of this, but I expected at least the aura to pass through, even at a low rate."
Rosemist shook her head. "It doesn't," she said. "You could perhaps make a Creation that resembles a sun with its light and its heat, but it will be nowhere near close to what the real Sun is."
Alex frowned upon hearing that. "Then what should I do to feel the real Sun? Go to space?" he asked.
"That won't help you either," Rosemist added. "Getting the Sun's aura is not that easy. The energy coming from the Sun is just too powerful."
"Can't I gather it with some formations in space? I just need to learn the aura," Alex said.
Rosemist shook her head again. "That formation will be destroyed, stripped of all Qi," she said. "I think you should go for what I said just now—make something that resembles the Sun, but is not exactly the Sun." RαŊо𐌱ЕṦ
Alex didn't want that. He truly wanted the real Sun. But if that wasn't going to happen, then he wouldn't mind doing it directly.
"Just to confirm, I do not need to understand the Sun to gather its aura, right?" Alex asked Rosemist.
"No, not necessarily," Rosemist said. "You can gather any aura and use it on your Origin. It doesn't necessarily need to be made by yourself."
"Then that will do." Alex made the simple decision right then and there to not learn about the Sun. He would instead just fly into space directly and absorb the Sun's aura from there.
That would save him time trying to learn about it—time he could use to learn many other things. He had eight Origins, after all, all of which needed an equal amount of dedication.
"Let's go to the Voidgate then," Alex said, and the two went to the Sword Snake's lair where the Voidgate lay.
There were so many different auras that flew out of the Voidgate, all of which he wanted to desperately learn. But sadly, that was too much work even for him. Despite his talent, he couldn't learn the Dao of Time and Space so easily.
He could perhaps learn more Space Daos if he focused on them some more, but right now, he focused all his time on Time Daos.
Alex still wasn't entirely sure which of the Time Daos he was closest to figuring out. He had used Temporal Stagnation the most, but that was only because it was the most useful one for him at the moment. If the others were helpful, he would have used them too.
Whichever it was, he simply hoped that he would soon learn its Dao. And with that in mind, he began his cultivation session that would last for a couple of years.
