Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong
Chapter 1851: 1048 Inside the TavernChapter 1851: Chapter 1048 Inside the Tavern
Pushing open the door of the noisiest tavern in Azure Blue Port, a mixed scent of alcohol and seafood immediately rushed into Leo Ray’s nostrils.
Indeed, the tavern was bustling with activity, with the sounds of clinking cups and hearty laughter echoing back and forth. Most of the patrons were sailors and fishermen wearing headscarves, as well as mercenaries and adventurers with various equipment.
On the greasy wooden tables surrounded by patrons, there were similarly greasy and mottled Light Crystal Stone lamps.
The dim light reflected on the tabletops, displaying plates of bread, cups of wine, various seafood meals, as well as the patrons’ carefree laughter and the haphazardly placed oak wine barrels.
Looking at the scene filled with the smell of fireworks before him, Leo Ray casually chose a seat near the bar and sat down with everyone.
Before coming to the tavern, Leo Ray had already noticed.
Although the Saint King of Grimm Kingdom personally led a Million Army to attack Sunset Fortress, this city of Azure Blue seemed hardly affected.
After all, located at the far end of the battlefield and mainly focusing on fisheries and sea trade, it was not surprising to see such prosperity here.
“However, upon entering the city, I noticed that the quality of the land-based Defense Army is low, with poor equipment, including some mercenaries, and the number of Tier 3 and above strong individuals in the city is extremely limited.”
“It seems that even cities at the other end of the battlefield have had many of their elites pulled away by the Royal Family of Grimm Kingdom.”
As Leo Ray was thinking this, he signaled the White Knight to casually order some food to prevent their group from appearing too conspicuous.
“In doing so, although the opponents I face are formidable, this also means that the defense capability of Grimm Kingdom’s coastal cities has significantly decreased.”
“If I can really persuade the Ironhand Archipelago to launch an attack from this side of the coastline, then the rear of Grimm Kingdom will definitely be in chaos, and of course, that includes the neighboring Pars Empire as well.”
Leo Ray sipped the rum that had just been brought by a tavern attendant and nodded thoughtfully.
“Pars Empire, with its vast territories, although 1.2 million troops are far from their limit, their border line is long. Especially against the many regions of barbaric Alien races from the Outer Region, significant forces are needed for defense.”
“Therefore, the forces that can be significantly withdrawn are only from the coastal cities at the rear and other central areas, since after all, the Ironhand Archipelago has been isolated for a century without any signs of waging war.”
“Stepping back, if the Ironhand Archipelago plans to take advantage of the situation at this time, they also lack the capacity to simultaneously confront both Grimm Kingdom and Pars Empire, especially since the naval forces of both nations haven’t been mobilized.”
“In that case, even if the Ironhand Archipelago takes the opportunity to attack one country, the other country will likely not stand idly by.”
“And once the two countries destroy my Coldflame Kingdom, the next unlucky one would naturally be the Ironhand Archipelago that took advantage of the situation.”
“Thereby, the high ranks of Grimm Kingdom and Pars Empire are firmly convinced that the Ironhand Archipelago will not, and dare not, launch an attack at this time, hence they overtly withdrew a considerable number of forces from the coastal cities.”
Feeling the spiciness and sweetness of the rum in his mouth, Leo Ray analyzed the current situation in his mind.
“Of course, this is based on the situation where my Coldflame Kingdom has not formed an alliance with Ironhand Archipelago.”
“Once this time I successfully ally with Ironhand Archipelago, it will certainly strike from both front and back, leaving Pars Empire and Grimm Kingdom unable to attend to both ends. At that time, the situation will be utterly different from what the two countries have calculated.”
With this thought in mind, Leo Ray put down his greasy wooden cup and slowly took a deep breath of the salty and murky air in the tavern.
“In other words, the only way is to bring Iron Hand Nation, enshrouded in mystery and unknown, to our side, as a dagger to stab our opponents.”
“We will then have the confidence to withstand the deadly blows from Pars Empire and Grimm Kingdom, perhaps even managing to turn it against them.”
“For the sake of grasping that still elusive dawn, even if this is a land filled with vampires, I must take the risk.”
Leo Ray looked at the roasted fish and bread subsequently served on the table, his eyes bright and spirited.
Afterward, Leo Ray dispatched his subordinates to act separately, to gather the latest information about the port and Ironhand Archipelago, including the Mercenary Guild registration desk next to the tavern bar.
Such large taverns generally have a Mercenary Guild registration desk, making it convenient for mercenaries to accept tasks and for passing merchants to post tasks. Thus, this was not surprising.
However, after some investigation, aside from frequent sightings of unidentified sea creatures around Ironhand Islands, there were no significant pieces of information.
This was unsurprising, given that Ironhand Archipelago had closed its sea lanes for over a century, with even official channels having no exchanges, let alone local sailors and fishermen.
“Your Highness, these rumors of unidentified sea creatures are likely spread by Ironhand Islanders themselves, aren’t they? The purpose being to keep outsiders away.”
Qiana sat back next to Leo Ray, her brows furrowed as she whispered softly: “After all, there were no reports of such sea creatures near Ironhand Archipelago before it completely isolated itself centuries ago.”
“It seems Ironhand Archipelago does indeed harbor some secrets unknown to others; this might just be the opportunity for us to win them over.”
Leo Ray watched as Little Illusion, perched on a wine cup, was devouring a roasted fish as big as itself, and he couldn’t help but smile wryly.
Despite often appearing in a very small, palm-sized form, it ate without miss, and one wonders where all the food went.
“But then again, we haven’t discovered any valuable information.”
As time was getting late and just as Leo Ray was about to lead the team directly to Ironhand Islands, a small figure stumbled in through the door.
It was a girl around ten years old, her fair face streaked with tears.
She looked around briefly, then dashed straight for the Mercenary Guild registration desk beside the tavern bar.
“I want to post a quest. Please help my mother! Help our villagers!”
The girl stood on tiptoe, resting her arms on the registration desk of the Mercenary Guild, pleading earnestly, “They are almost gone!”
“Little friend, if you need help, please ask your parents to come; the Mercenary Guild does not accept commissions from children.”
The male clerk at the Mercenary Guild bent down and patiently explained to the girl.
After finishing speaking, the clerk seemed to remember something, and his brows furrowed slightly: “Recently, there have been stubborn city kids who often come to the registration desk to cause trouble; surely, you are not one of their playmates?”
“Mr. Clerk, I truly need help!”
The girl, with a serious expression, tried hard to stand on her tiptoes, explaining loudly: “Besides, I am not a child; I am a member of the Blood Clan, I am over 100 years old!”
Hearing the strange girl say this, Leo Ray and his group all pricked up their ears, listening intently.
