Chapter 1871: Chapter 1058: A Scene That Should Not Exist_2

As Little Illusion fluttered up and down, exquisite light gray Hexagram Magic Arrays began to take shape one after another on the floating platform.

Accompanied by the gentle and profound flicker of gray light, these Magic Arrays grew larger, spinning and extending outward, with the Array Eye at the core being the First Blood Clan Queen. Eventually, they covered the entire platform, forming a gigantic composite Magic Array.

“Lord, everything is complete!”

Little Illusion hovered again in front of Leo Ray, placed a hand on its chest as a salute, and said, “The array is functioning normally and has successfully connected with the consciousness of the First Blood Clan Queen!”

“So, you’re saying that sister still has her self-awareness?”

Upon hearing this, the Scarlet Queen’s eyes lit up like stars before she revealed a trace of confusion and said, “But how is that possible?”

“Let’s go inside and see for ourselves.”

Leo Ray glanced at the two chairs already arranged on either side of the platform and nodded at the Scarlet Queen, “But before that, Your Majesty, please wait a moment.”

That said, Leo Ray sat down on one of the chairs, then nodded at Jasper Richardson.

The latter understood, and promptly revealed the Barrier Crystal imbued with the “Fortress Barrier” and began charging it.

The resplendent Absolute Defense Barrier expanded, enveloping Leo Ray, Little Illusion, and other allied strong fighters.

“Just standard safety precautions, please don’t mind, Your Majesty.”

Leo Ray smiled faintly and nodded at the Scarlet Queen.

Leo Ray understood clearly, as he, too, would be going along to personally investigate the truth, and thus certain protective measures were still enormously necessary.

“Completely understandable. If even the slightest mishap befalls His Royal Highness the Holy Lion, I shall find no peace.”

The Scarlet Queen smiled back, taking a seat on the other chair.

“Thank you for understanding, now let’s prepare to activate the array.”

With those words, Leo Ray closed his eyes, and the Scarlet Queen mirrored the action.

In the darkness, a familiar sense of tranquility flooded Leo Ray’s heart, as if his five senses had been severed, leaving only a void before him.

Leo Ray had already entered the Sleeping Barrier several times, facing this situation not only without a trace of unease, but rather growing increasingly curious within.

As the Array Eye, the First Queen showed no issues with vital signs, and all the various Magic Arrays in the “Blood Feast Ritual” were intact, so why did the supply suddenly cease?

If the First Queen indeed stopped the supply through her self-awareness, why would she do this?

Then again, according to the Scarlet Queen, the First Queen originally shouldn’t possess self-awareness, so how could she successfully connect with the Sleeping Array?

“One way or another, as long as we ascertain the cause, a solution will naturally present itself.”

“Additionally, judging from the Scarlet Queen’s recent series of reactions, while winning her over has progressed further, it hasn’t yet reached the point of being set in stone, and we still need to find the key opportunity.”

As Leo Ray thought this through, a new light emerged before his eyes, accompanied by the sounds of insects and birds chirping.

Looking around, Leo Ray noticed.

He, Little Illusion, and the Scarlet Queen were all in a dense forest, with brilliant sunlight streaming through the gaps between the leaves, creating spots of light of various shapes.

“Where is this?”

The Scarlet Queen rubbed her eyes, evidently still confused.

“This is the Subconscious Space of the First Blood Clan Queen.”

Leo Ray looked at the tranquil and peaceful forest, casually responding.

Originally, he had assumed that the Subconscious World presented by the Blood Clan Queen as the Array Eye would be a more monotonous or harsh environment, not expecting it to be so pleasantly tempered.

“So, we are indeed inside sister’s subconscious? Quite extraordinary indeed.”

The Scarlet Queen soon restored composure, giving Leo Ray an awkward smile and said, “Sorry, Your Highness, I was out of line just now.”

“No problem, I was the same on my first time.”

Leo Ray raised an eyebrow and continued surveying the surroundings.

And the Scarlet Queen, too, squinted her starry eyes, viewing all around.

As a high-bloodline Blood Clan member, the Scarlet Queen didn’t favor sunlight much, but it wasn’t to the extent of fearing or being unable to act.

“This is the forest where sister and I often went for outings in the past. Since arriving on the Ironhand Archipelago hundreds of years ago, we’ve always secretly regarded this place as a haven, free from the noble duty and relentless cultivation required by the high-bloodline Blood Clan.”

Only a moment later, the Scarlet Queen, as if recalling something, suddenly realized and said “If I recall correctly, there should be markings left by sister and me under that big tree!”

Speaking thus, the Scarlet Queen began to walk toward a nearby sky-reaching tree.

But when the Scarlet Queen arrived under that giant tree, she was full of amazement: “How can this be?”

“What happened?”

Leo Ray’s demeanor turned serious, and he followed closely.

Upon nearing, Leo Ray noticed.

On the trunk of the tree, there were neat claw marks, a feat not difficult for the Blood Clan.

The marks were interlaced crosses, and below a small portion turned into an oblique line, like a cross missing a stroke.

“These marks were drawn by sister and me, one stroke each, forming a complete cross symbol.”

“Initially, it represented our juvenile selves successfully escaping the Elders’ teachings once more, able to play freely, even if for a short time.”

The Scarlet Queen’s eyes widened incredulously: “And the line below was left by me alone when I came after sister sacrificed to become the Array Eye.”

“What’s so strange about that?”

After hearing the Scarlet Queen’s explanation, Little Illusion tilted its head in puzzlement.

“Still not figured it out?”

Leo Ray poked the Stone Spirit’s small head with a finger, prompting, “This is the Subconscious World of the First Queen, the cross marks above make perfect sense since both people were present, but how could the line below appear on this tree as well?”

“Indeed, the line appeared when the First Queen had already become the Array Eye, how could she know of the symbols left by the Second Queen? This underscoring line should not be seen!”

Little Illusion slapped its thigh, finally catching on.

“His Royal Highness Leo Ray is correct, what on earth is happening?”

The Scarlet Queen’s confusion on her pale face grew, asking Leo Ray.

“We don’t know yet, let’s keep looking, but it’s certain that something strange is afoot.”

Leo Ray pondered slightly, responding, “Our top priority now is finding the First Queen herself.”

“This forest is just at the outskirts of the Royal Capital, sister should be within it.”

The Scarlet Queen nodded at Leo Ray, starting again with the sound of footsteps, “Follow me.”

Guided by the Scarlet Queen, Leo Ray had just exited the forest when an ancient and magnificent vast city appeared—it was Iron Blood City of the Ironhand Archipelago.

In no time, the group of three sped forth and smoothly entered the very bustling Royal Capital.

During this process, Leo Ray noticed.

This Subconscious Space nearly mirrored the real world, not only filled with bustling travelers and merchants on the roads, but soldier figures patrolled upon the City Wall, a thriving scene.

The only difference was, people here were oblivious to Leo Ray and his group—a similarity shared with the experience in the Mirage.

“This isn’t even Iron Blood City from a century ago but is still present-day Iron Blood City, more precisely put—it’s Iron Blood City before the ‘Blood Feast Barrier’ was shattered.”

The Scarlet Queen’s eyes roamed over the prosperous block with puzzlement, saying, “Sister’s memory must’ve also halted more than a century ago, it’s utterly unbelievable…”

Speaking of, the Scarlet Queen suddenly froze, her gaze finally fixed on the crossroad of the block ahead.
