Chapter 2067: Chapter 1158: Hidden Motives

“Hehe, this is indeed an incredible matter.”

Yonir gently stroked his grizzled beard, nodded, and said, “No matter how one thinks about it, or what investigative methods are used, I can’t find the source of those vast heavenly treasures.”

At this point, Yonir shrugged and said, “That’s not all. Didn’t the leaders of various mercenary guilds secretly investigate the source of Coldflame Kingdom’s massive exotic equipment multiple times? I suppose they too are baffled?”

Hearing the old Alchemist voice a doubt that was also in her heart, Diana quickly nodded, maintaining proper respect.

Although she was exceptionally talented, having reached the level of a half-step Tier 6, the old Alchemist in front of her was strong enough to rival the Grey Elder, his power undoubtedly immeasurable.

In the entire Human World, the two elders before her were truly figures standing at the pinnacle of power, capable of easily destroying an army with a flick of the finger. Yet, many National-Level experts and even royal nobles were unaware of this.

The mystery and deep foundations of the three major neutral organizations of the Human Clan were absolutely beyond the imagination of any national monarch.

“One must admit, the Holy Lion Prince indeed carries many secrets.”

The old eyes of the Grey Elder narrowed slightly, gazing at the fiery scene of the siege below the mountain. He spoke, “However, since such miraculous events as the advent of countless Otherworldly Lords can occur, it is not surprising for a mysterious person with unique skills to also emerge among them.”

“That’s right, to a large extent, the Holy Lion Prince has already led the Coldflame Kingdom beyond the original limits of the Human World.”

Yonir’s silver robe gleamed under the sunlight as he agreed, “If he can extend this transcendence to every corner of the Human World, the future would be simply immeasurable.”

“Yes, in such a case, perhaps we, the small Human Clan, looked down upon by the long-lived races, could break through this small place and head towards the broader Outer Region world.”

The deep-set eyes of the Grey Elder nodded and said, “In other words, considering that all these Otherworldly Lords are part of the Human Clan, this might not be a bad thing for the entire Human World.”

“Chairman, aren’t you worried that the Holy Lion Prince might dominate and become the ruler of the Human World alone?”

Durant, listening up to this point, could not help but ask the question outright.

“Since the Era of Blankness, internal strife in the Human World has almost never ceased. This has caused many star generals and extraordinarily talented experts to fall, with countless innocent civilians losing their lives, resulting in incalculable losses.”

The old eyes of the Grey Elder moved slowly over the spectacular siege scene below the mountain, responding, “Although this has, to some extent, promoted a martial atmosphere within the Human World, it is seen by other races as nothing more than foolish internal conflict.”

“If a true ruler could emerge within the Human World, gathering the entire human power to venture beyond this small place and make contact with those more powerful other races, human civilization would experience unprecedented prosperity and growth.”

The Grey Elder’s voice remained calm, yet it revealed an undeniable trace of excitement as he continued, “So, as I said, this might not be a bad thing.”

“But what if the Holy Lion Prince lacks the capacity to be a ruler, merely a tyrant lost in desire?”

Durant thoughtfully nodded, immediately pursuing further, “For the Human World, this might not be prosperity, but destruction.”

“That is precisely what we need to understand.”

The Grey Elder’s plain gray robe fluttered in the wind as he noncommittally replied, “But at least for now, this Holy Lion Prince from the Otherworld has not made any move of a tyrant; instead, he has fully displayed the demeanor of a benevolent ruler.”

“The Holy Lion Prince even spared the surrendered soldiers and residents of the Grimm Kingdom, clearly intending to preserve and consolidate every piece of strength in preparation for a greater stage.”

Yonir took over the conversation, agreeing, “It seems his ambition is evidently not just the Human World, which aligns with our thoughts; perhaps the entire Human World will undergo a drastic transformation under the influence of this Otherworldly Lord.”

The old Alchemist paused for a moment and added, “With his currently astonishing rate of development, drastic change is only a matter of time, and, of course, so is dominating the entire Human World.”

“But no matter how you think about it, this is too risky, considering that we don’t really understand the Holy Lion Prince, and placing the safety of the entire Human World in one person’s hands is simply the craziest thing I’ve ever heard of.”

Durant’s thick eyebrows furrowed as he couldn’t help but sigh again.

After the last meeting, although he recognized Leo Ray’s ability and audacity and had some favorable opinions, it was clear he hadn’t reached the level of complete trust.

“This is indeed a gamble, but the reason we take this matter so seriously is not just because the Holy Lion Prince has the potential to lead the Human World beyond its limits, going towards the Outer Region.”

The Grey Elder first glanced at Yonir, and they both saw an unspoken understanding in each other’s aged eyes before slowly addressing Durant, “Although you didn’t participate in the Ultimate Decisive Meeting a century ago, you should have heard of it, right?”
