"S-Sword Intent?" Huo Minyong raised an eyebrow.
"A-Are you telling me the strike that Di Qiaowei used was sword intent?" He asked stutteringly.
Normally, no cultivator would be able to detect sword intent unless they are familiar with a sword. However, their profanity with the sword must be extremely high to be able to detect and identify sword intent.
Currently, in the Northern Continent, their knowledge of swords are separated into three grades, namely, sword qi, sword intent, and sword force.
Without comprehending the latter part, no other people would be able to tell what kind of grades they are in.
"H-How did the Di Clan manage to cultivate such talent?" Huo Minyong was unwilling to accept this fact, but there was nothing he could do.
Suddenly, a thought bolted into his mind as he looked at Jiang Ming in shock. "Wait a minute… may I ask how fellow cultivator Jing knew that the strike Di Qiaowei used was sword intent? Could it be that… you can also use sword intent?"
Jiang Ming remained silent as he didn't reply to him. However, his silence was enough to tell Huo Minyong that he indeed was on that level or even higher.
"This person has eyes but failed to recognize Mountain Tai. May fellow cultivator Jing forgive my previous behavior." Huo Minyong hurriedly apologized.
In the cultivation world, it's not age that one must respect, but their strength and power. Even if the other person is younger than you by a large margin.
Since Jiang Ming was able to identify sword intent, then Huo Minyong must be extra cautious when interacting with him, lest he might offend him accidentally.
Meanwhile, Huo Ning had gotten up from her initial knockback as she walked toward Huo Minyong.
"Uncle Minyong, I'm sorry that I've failed." She said in a bitter tone. Clearly, she was disappointed in herself and believed to have brought shame to the Huo Clan.
Huo Minyong turned around and smiled at her gently, "Don't be too disappointed, Xiao Ning. That Di Qiaowei had comprehended sword intent, so it's a given that you would be eating a loss when fighting him with a sword."
"S-Sword intent?" Huo Ning was dumbfounded. "How did Uncle Minyong know that his strike was a sword intent? Is Uncle Minyong a master of the sword? How come I never knew that?"
"Umm… how should I explain this?" Huo Minyong scratched his head as he glanced at Jiang Ming occasionally.
Seeing his eye contact, Huo Ning realized there must be something fishy about Jiang Ming and Yang Liqin who had a mask on their face.
However, she couldn't get a chance to ask about them when Di Tianluo stepped forward and smiled proudly.
"Since the Huo Clan's little princess has been defeated by a member of our clan, I believe they should be content with just 5 quotas for the entry. After all, an ancient ruin is filled with numerous resources and if one is not capable enough to bring them back, then it would be a waste." He announced, degrading the Huo Clan in the process.
Zhao Tong remained silent on the matter. The Di Clan had used strength to prove themselves so their tyrannical method of receiving more quota might be immoral but justified.
If there's something he needed to blame, then it would be the lack of strength from the Huo Clan.
"Aren't you going a bit too fast for a moment, Elder Tianluo? It's just one match and you already determined yourself as the winner?" Jiang Ming suddenly intervened, walking forward to the center.
"Hmph, an outsider like you has no right. If it weren't for the presence of His Majesty, then I would have already killed you for your ignorance and disrespectfulness." Di Tianluo snorted coldly.
Jiang Ming ignored Di Tianluo's words as he focused on Huo Minyong.
"Elder Huo Minyong, so what do you say about our previous intervention?" He asked calmly.
"P-Previous intervention?" Huo Minyong raised an eyebrow. Suddenly, he recalled the words that Jiang Ming had said when he revealed himself to them.
'I'll fight on your behalf.' Jiang Ming's words resonated in his mind, and Huo Minyong didn't know why, but he felt like it would be a turning point for the Huo Clan if he allowed him.
"C-Can you really defeat Di Qiaowei?" Huo Minyong asked stutteringly. If somehow they were still defeated after recruiting an outsider's help, then there would truly be no place for the Huo Clan anymore in the Northern Continent.
Meanwhile, Jiang Ming gave him a hand signal of 'ok' in response.
"Heh, a greenhorn that doesn't know the reality. Di Qiaowei, go and teach that person a lesson. Accidents are bound to happen so just fight as you usually did." Di Tianluo shouted aloud. He was a petty man and after being disrespected three times by Jiang Ming, his bottom line had been breached.
Di Qiaowei flashed a wicked grin as he asked, "Does that mean I can use my sword intent however I want?"
Di Tianluo nodded his head. "Cripple that brat or even kill him. I don't care, but I want him to understand that there are some people that you can't provoke."
"Rest assured, Uncle Tianluo. Watch how I'll slaughter him bits by bits."
With that said, Di Qiaowei leaped onto the center field and cupped his fist at Jiang Ming.
"Di Qiaowei seeks your advice." He said calmly.
"No need to seek my advice, considering you're unworthy to even learn anything from me." Jiang Ming raised his hand and responded.
"You are just not good enough for me to teach you anything."
"No wonder why Uncle Tianluo is irritated by you. You have no respect at all in a duel."
"Says the person that was bullying someone weaker previously." Jiang Ming shrugged.
The 'weaker' Jiang Ming referred to was naturally the inexperienced Huo Ning. She was a naive fool that got lured into a trap without even realizing it.
"What an arrogant tone, Jing. Then I'll show you who's the boss in this duel." Di Qiaowei dropped his gentleman act and retrieved his sword, ready to slice and dice Jiang Ming.
