Chapter 1299: Poison Rune

Chapter 1299: Poison Rune

“Vitality Mastery,” Gralith confirmed calmly. However… he didn’t tell them the exact percent. Because if they knew it was 84%… that… that would be a whole other can of worms. That was because… 84% was only a single percentage point from Spark Mastery.

And so fast.

Three Layers formed in a single breath of time.

A full +250,000 to his overall Physical.

And all that without an integrated Unique Gene.

If he had one, didn’t that mean his Physical boost would be at 2.5 million instead?

The stats these Warlords were thinking of were adjusted to their own system’s and its own calculation of the stat totals. But the reality was clear enough right before them.

This child…

They had known it from the moment they saw him walking through those danger zones of E-Grade threats as though it was his own backyard… his Rune Mastery was off the charts.

But this… this still felt like they had underestimated him completely.

’If he was willing to show this so easily… just how far has he gotten?’ Gralith asked.

There was no doubt in his mind. Sylas had reached the shocking, unheard-of Spark Mastery in drawing the Warlord Armor. Gwenu had only barely managed to reach the outer edges of Vitality Mastery at the F-tier. She had made it nowhere near close to 84%.

And, if she wanted to draw that in battle, she would have needed several minutes, whereupon she would need to weather whatever storm her enemies were throwing at her while her Skill went to work.

This… this was on a completely different level.

This Sylas Grimblade, this disciple that he had stumbled into because of that Favor from so long ago…

How had he gotten so lucky?

A glint flashed in Gralith’s eyes.

BANG!

Sylas blocked the next strike that came even heavier, calmly dispersing the blow throughout his armor.

He only gained +250,000 to his Constitution. However, the stats were one thing, the Effectiveness was another. Because of the Warlord Armor’s abilities, he was able to disperse the power of Scarval’s blow of over two million Strength across all the shingles of his Warlord Armor, each one taking a piece of it.

By the end, an attack concentrated into a fist was diluted easily a dozen times over, making it feel as light as a feather landing on Sylas—something that he immediately took advantage of.

His body pivoted and his forearm slightly twisted in relation to his shoulder.

BANG!

Another elbow struck right across Scarval’s jaw in the same motion he parried his fist with.

This time, Sylas didn’t let him go, sweeping into another combo that erupted into an uppercut to the side of his ribcage, and then swept a leg at the side of his knee.

Scarval found himself spinning through the air, and the instant he was parallel to the ground, Sylas’ Scorpion Tail lashed out with a vicious swipe.

BANG!

The Tiger Lineage genius found his head ringing, the ground shattering on impact as he felt himself unable to react to Sylas’ barrages.

The instant he bounced up from the ground, the earth seemingly finally fighting back against all the carnage being unleashed onto it, a heel was falling down to meet his rise.

Scarval crossed his arms to block, but the space suddenly warped around Sylas’ foot, increasing the gravity and weight of it several times over.

At the same time, Sylas expanded the space between him and Scarval’s block, using what should have been a defensive maneuver and turning it into more runway to accelerate his ax kick.

BANG!

Scarval landed in the crater once again, his arms cracking and blood flying from his lips. His forearms had snapped on impact, white bone sticking out in a mess.

At the same time, the armor around Sylas’ foot exploded, sacrificing itself to save his leg from the same fate. But just as quickly as it was destroyed, Sylas reformed it even more quickly.

Sparks of lightning rose out of Sylas’ tail, a violet swirl of Poison Runes dancing with menace.

It was time to end this.

The 713th Tiger Warlord stood violently to his feet, his eyes wide with shock.

The reaction of the others was much the same, but the problem was that it was his own grandson moments away from death.

The problem wasn’t Sylas’ strength, but instead the power of the Rune.

They all knew the abilities of the Scorpion. [Earth Escape] was one, the ability to grow stronger through injuries was another, but maybe the most fearsome was the ability to curate your own, personal poison.

The issue was that most Scorpion Lineage Disciples—even Gwenu—forewent this ability for as long as possible. That was because the Scorpion Tail’s ability to control poisons and power them with ease was far easier to use.

At their level, creating their own Poison Rune needed more experience than they had.

So how were they supposed to react to Sylas using a Poison Rune with 80 Foundations, a Poison Rune they had never seen in their entire lives, right in front of them?

There was no doubt in their minds.

Sylas had created this Poison Rune all on his own. There simply weren’t words to describe this level of prodigy. Even if Gralith really had broken the rules and used the Sanctum’s resources on him before he should, how could they even properly deal with this situation?

They could never turn such a disciple away.

“WAKE UP, DAMMIT!” the Tiger Warlord roared, completely infuriated by his useless grandson.

He was going to lose, and it wasn’t even because he wasn’t strong enough—it was because the damn fool went to make a statement and yet couldn’t even bother to be awake enough to deal with his opponent properly.

“Enough.”

The Warlords all froze, their blood running cold. None of them could see the one who spoke, but they knew where they had to come from…

The Core Sanctum. A location only retired Warlords could take a step into.

Sylas’ tail was just about to pierce into Scarval’s body when he found himself frozen in place.
