Global Beast Mastery: Only I Can See the Hints

Chapter 586 - 586: Max, Mousie’s Level Up!

After walking for about two minutes, Charles stopped just before a corner.

He had heard something unusual.

“That guy back there must be a Beast Master from the Abyssal Depths! It doesn’t look like an ordinary human!”

“It’s a Serpent People in disguise! I know, that race only exists in the Abyssal Depths!”

“Exactly, let’s hurry up. We’ll break her bones and leave her here to die! Hmph, as long as she’s from the Abyssal Depths, none of them will escape!”

“It’s all because of that guy named Charles. If it weren’t for him, there would have been more of us who could have entered. Instead, some lowly Abyssal Depths Beast Masters stole our spots!”

“With two level-six Beast Masters and a level-five Beast Master, we’ll crush Charles if we run into him. We’ll teach him a lesson!”

“I want Charles on his knees, begging me, hahahaha!”

Charles, listening to the voices from around the corner, couldn’t help but furrow his brow. He gripped his [Black Gold Long Knife] tightly. These must be the students from the Ancient Academy, and it seemed they had a strong grudge against him.

Looking around, he noticed that everything was glowing with Crystal of Light, leaving no shadows. His [Darkness Cloak] skill was heavily restricted here.

Charles had to remain as quiet as possible, carefully following the three of them.

Not long after, the three Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh stopped and began discussing:

“What is this strange thing? It looks like a white lake!”

“Be careful, there might be danger. That Abyssal Depths Serpent we saw earlier, I hope we didn’t lose track of it!”

“Don’t worry, it’s just ahead!”

Upon hearing their conversation, Charles paused for a moment. A white lake?

He immediately thought of a place on the map. If he was correct, the place he was at now was called “White Lake” on the map.

There was something here that could help level up Max, Mousie, Mia, and Little Gold. He couldn’t let those three Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh get to it first!

Charles quickened his pace, but just then, a sudden scream came from ahead.

“Ahhh! A ferocious beast!”

Charles looked over and saw, by the edge of the lake, a white ferocious beast crocodile biting down hard on the thigh of a level-six Beast Master from the Haunted Marsh. It rolled around violently, and blood quickly stained the entire water.

“Help, help me!” The Beast Master, caught by the crocodile, screamed loudly.

His two companions quickly began attacking the white ferocious beast crocodile.

As the two Beast Masters were rescuing their companion, Charles’s figure appeared quietly behind them. His [Black Gold Long Knife] whistled through the air, striking one of them with force, sending him flying!

“Thud!” The blood splattered, adding a splash of color to the white world around them.

The remaining level-six Beast Master from the Haunted Marsh looked horrified. Without thinking, he instinctively decided to abandon his companion and escape.

After all, Charles wasn’t going to kill them. Isolde had clearly said that such actions were forbidden!

Without a second thought, he turned to flee, completely different from the earlier bravado of wanting to teach Charles a harsh lesson.

He knew that the companion Charles had just sent flying was a Beast Master with the Metal Element. His physical defenses were strong, but even he couldn’t withstand Charles’s surprise attack.

If it were him, his fate would have been even worse!

At the very least, he needed to put some distance between them and find a way to counterattack.

With this thought in mind, he quickly gained some distance, but then noticed that he had lost sight of Charles.

Sweat dripped from his forehead. Without hesitation, he summoned all his mystical beasts, attempting to use [Beast Mastery].

But Charles wouldn’t give him that chance. The [Black Gold Long Knife] howled again as it struck the Beast Master’s ribs with brutal force, snapping several of them.

Being close to Charles was far more dangerous than being near a Beast Master of the same level!

Charles wasn’t just physically strong; he also had [Divine Domain], which allowed him to sense his opponent’s weaknesses with precision.

Just like when he first attacked, Charles immediately aimed for the weak point, targeting the opponent’s lower back—an area most vulnerable to attack, where he could easily damage internal organs, such as the kidneys!

When all the Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh were lying on the ground, writhing in pain, Charles finally took a good look at their faces.

They weren’t the Ancient Academy students he had imagined.

It seemed that the Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh held a stronger grudge against him than he had thought.

Charles sighed and muttered quietly, “I haven’t gone after you, yet you’re already planning how to target me. Sigh.”

The three Beast Masters on the ground quickly replied, “No, no, no, it’s all a misunderstanding! It’s all a misunderstanding!”

“Yeah, it’s all a misunderstanding, we didn’t mean to target you!”

“Charles, please let us go. We’ve just arrived, and we haven’t found anything yet!”

“Please, we beg you!”

Charles reached up and stroked his chin, recalling the cooperation William had mentioned to him.

Then, Charles said, “How about this? Your injuries are still manageable. If you have any miracle drugs for recovery, you can continue exploring.”

“I’ll let you go, and you’ll be grateful to me. But how should you show your gratitude?”

The three of them quickly reacted, pulling various items from their storage tools. Charles didn’t mind and took everything without hesitation.

He even had them take out all their miracle drugs. Charles kept only the ones that could heal a single person’s injuries and took the rest.

After that, Charles told the three severely wounded Beast Masters to leave, as far away as possible.

He left behind some miracle drugs just in case the three of them ran into trouble and died. He didn’t know if that would be a violation of Isolde’s rules.

He had been generous enough, not taking everything from them.

After all, they were the ones who had tried to target him, and he was just preemptively dealing with it. He had even allowed them to stay in the secret realm to continue exploring. The cost was just some trivial gratitude.

Charles quickly gathered all his spoils, looking over the alchemy materials, deep in thought.

He couldn’t kill anyone, and the Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh wouldn’t leave so easily. After all, there were many treasures in the secret realm. No one would give up until they had gathered enough rewards.

Charles murmured to himself, “If I could rob them of their miracle drugs and alchemy materials, and control all the miracle drugs for healing… I could craft some low-quality miracle drugs and sell them at a high price to them!”

“Too bad… it’s just a thought now. There probably won’t be a chance for that.”

The talented Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh numbered over two hundred, and Charles didn’t think he could take on that many. If something unexpected happened, he might end up being chased by over two hundred Beast Masters from the Haunted Marsh!

With that thought, Charles turned his attention back to the white lake. After a moment of contemplation, he had Mia fly just above the surface of the lake.

Soon, dozens of massive white ferocious beast crocodiles appeared, beginning to roar.

Without hesitation, Charles took out his [Chasing the Moon Bow], and a few arrows flew through the air, locking onto the crocodiles.

Ten minutes later, the blood stained the entire surface of the lake red, and Charles emerged from the water, dripping wet.

He looked at the white stones in his hands and smiled.

This was the [Energy Crystal] recorded on the map, which could help mystical beasts level up.

Charles thought for a moment and decided to level up Max first. He quickly fed two [Energy Crystals] to Max, and Max’s information changed:

——[Nine-Tailed Spirit Wolf]——

[Description]: After absorbing the Ice Spirit Pearl and Fire Spirit Pearl, Max’s bloodline was enhanced, becoming the legendary Nine-Tailed Spirit Wolf. Its strength has been greatly improved.

Charles hadn’t expected that just two [Energy Crystals] would bring Max’s level up to 39, meeting the promotion requirements.

Not rushing to check the materials required for Max’s promotion, Charles fed the remaining [Energy Crystals] to Mousie. The smaller Mousie took several minutes to finish all the [Energy Crystals].

Charles checked Mousie’s information:

——[Dark Demigod·Growth Form]——

[Name]: Mousie

With four mystical beasts, now both Mousie and Max had reached level 39, and Charles felt much more at ease. As expected, The Land of the Fallen Divine Beasts truly had some good things!

Charles began checking the materials required for promotion. Max only needed two high-level Ice and Fire dual-element mystical beast beast cores and a material called [Essence of Spirit].

As for Mousie, just like before, it needed some standard promotion materials, but also something Charles hadn’t heard of before—[Blood of the Demigod], just a single drop was enough.

Charles sighed in frustration. What were these things?
