Chapter 2258: Tit For Tat.

If it were on a battlefield, the enemy would probably have a strategy to counter the current arrangement of his army and offensive tactic. But now that he has caught the enemy off guard, Rack has the confidence to kill all eight leaders of the Golden Hammer gang.

He raised his armored fist and clenched it as he said, “Crush them.”

His men began to cheer, and some even began to beat their chests or slam their weapons against their shields. They didn’t care about being silent anymore since they had already taken root in the base.

He said in disdain, “I think they have been scared running.”

He said to his men, “Follow me.”

The whole army began to march forward. They left the barracks and approached the main building.

No one stopped them along the way. But there was someone standing outside the main door. This person had two large fists that were equipped with golden knuckle dusters.

Rack recognized the person immediately. But he wasn’t scared by the appearance of this person. In fact, he was very happy to see one of his enemies.

He laughed and said, “Isn’t this the great but not so powerful Golden Hammer? Did you ever think that your scheme would be used against you? I bet you didn’t think of it.”

“This is for tit for tat. But I will be magnanimous and leave you with your life if you surrender now. Unlike you, I still have some respect for fellow epic beings. It would be a terrible shame to die here.”

Golden Hammer gritted his teeth in anger and said to him, “You won’t get away with this.”

Raxk sneered and said, “If you can get away with it, so can I.”

He asked again, “So what do you say? Will you surrender or not?”

Golden Hammer didn’t reply. He only continued to stare with anger in his eyes.

This made Rack displeased. He said with some glee, “Time’s up.”

He did all of these to gain the element of surprise. Now that he has gained so much of it, he wasn’t going to let some of it be eroded by wasting time chatting with an enemy.

Since Golden Hammer didn’t want to surrender, he became happy to fight and kill him. Actually, he had wanted to fight as soon as he saw Golden Hammer, but he thought that it was a smart thing to do to at least see if he could get Golden Hammer to surrender.

But Golden Hammer didn’t want to appreciate his magnanimity. So after speaking, he rushed towards Golden Hammer with his fist clenched and prepared to strike his enemy.

Golden Hammer also responded in kind. The two of them smashed their fists against each other’s.

Golden Hammer was quickly overwhelmed. His fist was smashed aside, and Rack’s fist smashed into his chest. The force of the hit sent him flying.

Golden Hammer flew back through the doorway behind him. The force of the punch was so great that he didn’t stop until he crossed the whole building and smashed into the wall at the other end of the building.

Unfortunately, he didn’t get any time to catch his breath because Rack followed him into the house and began beating him as soon as his back crashed into the wall.

Golden Hammer was beaten without any means to fight back. Rack was the one doing all the hitting, while Golden Hammer was struggling to resist.

But despite how bad things looked, Golden Hammer had minimal injuries. This is because he had the rank 1 Strength Boost divine ability, which allows him to boost his strength by one level with spiritual energy, and the rank 4 divine ability called Iron Fortitude, which grants his body incredible defense and durability.

So his strength had reached rank 5, and because the power of Iron Fortitude increases with the power of his strength, his defense also reached rank 5. This is why he was able to take the hits without being crushed.

As time went on, though, his injuries became serious. After all, there is still a gap between rank 5 and rank 6.

But thanks to his rank 2 divine ability called Berserk, the more injured Golden Hammer became, the stronger he became. And because of Iron Fortitude, the stronger he became, the more difficult it became to injure him.

After 20 seconds of fighting, Golden Hammer became strong enough to match Rack. He stopped being helpless and was able to resist. The two of them began to hit each other in equal amounts.

The two of them became equal in terms of power, but Rack was being injured more. The problem was that Golden Hammer had Iron Fortitude, so Raxk couldn’t injure himself easily anymore.

Rack, on the other hand, only had his heavy armor. His armor was strong, but so was Golden Hammer’s knuckle duster. So Raxk was being injured more and more in the fight.

However, Rack still had a smile on his face even though he was being injured more than his enemies. He was still confident of victory because of the support of his army.

He is currently only using one divine ability to acquire the power of a rank 6 godclad, while Golden Hammer is using three divine abilities.

It is safe to say that Golden Hammer is expending three times more spiritual energy than him, but that would be an understatement.

His rank 4 divine ability only takes a little spiritual energy to give him the power he currently possesses. Meanwhile, all of Golden Hammer’s divine abilities require a lot of spiritual energy to operate.

So it is more accurate to say that Golden Hammer is expending at least 6 times as much spiritual energy as him. Based on this, it is safe to say that Golden Hammer will run out of spiritual energy before him.
