But they also don’t mind raising a cleric to become the god of the pathway. Maybe there are people out there who can say no to having a god as a slave. It pains them to admit it, but they are not one of those people.

All in all, they were in a good mood. Everything that happened, right from the death of 265 people, Cedric running away and being disowned, and then gaining two new districts, has made them very happy.

While they were in a good mood, the other gangs were not. One gang in particular was in a very bad mood. This gang was the Black and White gang.

The Black and White gang is a gang with two leaders. One of them is a dreamer, while the other is a warrior.

The dreamer is called White Caper, while the warrior is called Black Axe. Together, they are Black and White.

The two of them work well together. The dreamer forces other people to sleep while the warrior beats them up. This combination combo is how they were able to become the first gang with control over five districts in the outer city.

Not only were they the first gang to acquire control of five districts, but they were also the only ones to do so for five years. Because things were going so well, they had hopes of winning this round of the game.

This wasn’t a vain hope even by conservative estimates. A round of the game has a duration of 10 years. They were able to gain control of their five districts after two years and managed to keep control of them for five years more.

So they got control of the largest territory very early on into the game and then kept control of it for half of the duration of the round. By the looks of things, they really did have a good shot of winning.

But then the Golden Hammer gang came along and found 8 altruistic epic godclads to work together to win the games. This is a feat that is difficult for others to replicate because it is just not worth it financially for eight epic beings to be in control of a gang.

Any gang can try to recruit as many epic beings as they want. There is no limit whatsoever to the number of epic beings that can be in a glad.

But rarely do gangs have more than two epic beings because the income of the gang will have to be shared between the two of them. and might not be enough to cater to both epic beings.

Even for a large gang like them with five districts under their control, they still find it difficult to support two epic beings financially. So it will be difficult, if not impossible, for a smaller gang to have more than one epic being as leaders.

Apart from the dispute over finances, there is also the conflict over the control of the gang. Many epic beings would like to be the sole leaders of a gang or at least have the final say in the gang. This usually leads to disputes that lead to gangs breaking apart.

So there are financial disputes and disputes over authority that stand in the way of a gang having more than one epic being.

These two reasons are why people like Rack and the Undying Godclad, who used to be good friends in the past, broke up to set up a gang on their own. They are still friends, but they still went their separate ways in order to be able to enjoy the benefits of a gang completely without having to share control.

Most epic beings would rather start their own gang and control two districts on their own than share a large gang that controls five districts with another epic being. This is why the situation of the Golden Hammer gang is so special.

The leaders of the Golden Hammer gang don’t fight over money or control. They work together in harmony in order to make the gang great. This is something that is impossible to achieve.

At most eight epic beings will be forced to work together. Even then, it is impossible that they will work together in harmony.

Working together in harmony is unlikely to happen even if the lives of these eight godclads were at stake. People, especially powerful people, will still find reasons, other than financial and need for authority, to compete or argue with each other.

The Black and White gang also faced these two problems, but because one of the leaders of the Black and White gang likes to sleep more than spend money and control the gang, they’ve been able to work so well for so long. But they know that they are already at their limit.

It doesn’t take a genius to understand that a third epic being might cause the leadership of the Black and White gang to become unstable and might actually lead to infighting within the gang.

They might actually have to split if they take in a third epic being. This is something that has happened before, so there is a real-life basis for why they shouldn’t try to copy the Golden Hammer gang.

But no matter how Black Axe thought about how it would be detrimental to the development of the gang to recruit a third epic being, he was still tempted by the power that they would gain and jealous that the Golden Hammer gang was able to achieve it.

He stood over a balcony overlooking his territory and thought long and hard about the matter. There was someone sitting on a chair beside him. The person was draped in a white cape and snoring.

The snore of the person was very loud, but Black Axe didn’t mind it. In fact, he liked the snoring sound. It was rhythmic like the beating of a drum, and it helped him to think, not hinder his thinking.
