Harem System: Spending Money On Women For 100% Rebate!
Chapter 253 - 253: Man From The Past.Priscilla was doing her job but there was something she couldn’t shake off.
Kyle was a strange man but there had to be a reason he was doing all of this and it wasn’t because he was a good person.
Priscilla knew she couldn’t run it through Oliver because he would just tell her she was overthinking things.
But there was one thing Priscilla trusted above all else and that was her guts.
Kyle was not as innocent as he gave off because Priscilla was aware he was trying to sway their opinion in his favour.
She had started her investigation to find out who Kyle was but he wasn’t in the system.
Priscilla was also suspicious because he had killed someone skilled.
There was no way he would have caught Clarence blindsided or caught him off guard with no training.
And that was what was suspicious because there was nothing about him serving in the military or having such training.
If anything, this man was a master at covering his tracks.
Kyle must have thought he was a master of deception but Priscilla was onto him like flies on shit.
Her phone rang shortly after, in the middle of her investigation and it was none other than the person she was investigating.
“Kyle…?” Priscilla thought. It had been a while since they last communicated so this was a bit out of the blue as she had no pending business with him except for the case with the judge since there was nothing new to report– there was no need for this.
Priscilla picked up the phone but there was something she was doing that Kyle wasn’t aware of.
She was recording their conversations which she went over at a later time to take note of any inconsistencies he must have said but there were none.
Kyle never slipped up even once which was impressive as she began the process before picking the phone up.
“Is there something I can do for you?” Priscilla questioned the moment she picked up the phone.
[[Damn, is that how you speak to everyone?]]
Kyle fired back immediately, getting tired of how cold she was because she wasn’t the only one capable of being rude.
“Kyle, I’m busy,” Priscilla responded but Kyle wasn’t going to back down.
[[Hey, you know my name… That is progress!]]
Kyle sounded excited for a minute but this was all a show, Kyle was a man with infinite faces.
He could draw on the face of anyone he wanted to and adopt their character to perfection.
Priscilla sighed out loud before looking at her computer screen and knew this was an opportunity.
She wasted no time and started to trace his location to see where he was calling her from, this wasn’t ethical but this was what made her such a good cop.
She trusted her instincts and followed them through until they were confirmed.
“Do you have any news for me?” Priscilla questioned but Kyle kept quiet on the other end.
Prsicilla needed him on the phone a little longer to pinpoint his location but to her utmost surprise, Kyle hung up.
“Huh?” Priscilla thought.
–
“That is weird, I could swear I had more power…” Kyle mumbled to himself, he had left the warehouse and wanted to find out what was going on with the investigation regarding the judge.
Or was that it, did Kyle have any intention of telling her the Mafia planned on moving into the entertainment industry with a new drug that couldn’t be good news?
Kyle found himself in the middle of a very complex situation and there was only one person he knew who had some sort of links to this lifestyle and that was Ella.
Kyle wanted to ask her questions to see if she knew anything about this new drug but the chances she could relapse were too great a risk.
But this was where trust had a role to play, Kyle had to gamble, he couldn’t play it safe.
First thing was first, he needed to find somewhere to power his phone.
Kyle walked into a nearby shop to plug his phone, the person tried to give him lips but there was nothing money couldn’t do.
Kyle was charging his phone until he heard a familiar voice, it was the voice of the man that ruined his life or rather, a police officer.
Kyle looked up, hoping his ears were deceiving him but there was no way his eyes were.
“This is…!” Kyle thought to himself because this was no doubt the man Calista had brought to the shop.
He didn’t even register Kyle’s presence but Kyle noticed he didn’t look too good, not that this was his problem.
The man walked out the store and Kyle looked at the cashier.
“I will be right back,” Kyle reassured him. The boy nodded because he knew this was a chance to get even more money.
This was enough motivation to keep Kyle’s phone safe, this was the advantage of not having a face all over the internet.
Kyle tracked this man down, following him from behind but the man noticed him shortly after.
He turned around and looked at Kyle with a raised brow.
“I-I know you…” The man blurted out but Kyle chuckled at this.
“Of course you should. You ruined my life after all,” Kyle responded and the man began to run right away upon confirmation.
Kyle was confused why he was running but it hit him a second later how this must have looked.
“OH! I’M NOT HERE TO HARM YOU! WAIT UP YOU BUFFOON!” Kyle screamed at the man before giving chase.
“WHY THE HELL ARE YOU RUNNING!? AREN’T YOU A COP!?” Kyle added and the man stopped shortly after.
“T-That is right, I am and I have to ask you to stop following me or I will have to use force!” The man screamed.
“Did you just forget you were a cop?” Kyle asked him and an awkward silence followed.
And before he could say another word, the man took off again.
“For fuck’s sake!” Kyle cussed before running after him once more.
