The dense fog over Jilong Mountain repeatedly expanded and contracted, as if it were a living creature.

Flashes of red light appeared all around within it, and the thunderous sounds roared incessantly.

Chen Mu hid underground, monitoring Jilong Mountain through the cloud-bound Vermilion Feather Sword.

Soon he noticed that the long snake of white smoke with human faces occasionally appeared on the edge of the dense fog.

When it broke free from the fog, it would turn into a snake of white smoke, and upon contact with the fog, it immediately merged back into it and disappeared.

"Could it be that the dense fog enveloping Jilong Mountain is made up of those human-faced long snakes?" Chen Mu couldn’t help feeling frightened.

He had previously attempted to find the snakes of white smoke.

Now, thinking about it, if he had really provoked that large group of monsters, he would have been doomed for sure!

...

The battle lasted for half an hour.

Accompanied by a heaven-shaking wail, the entire expanse of dense fog suddenly dispersed.

Song Wujie stood hovering above Jilong Mountain, his clothes visibly tattered.

Then, swarms of fiery red insects flew out from around him, chasing after the clusters of white smoke across the mountains.

The dying roars of countless exotic beasts echoed throughout the mountains one after another, but before long, they were heard no more.

Song Wujie maneuvered his Escape Light, circling around the outskirts of Jilong Mountain and returned to the grand hall at the mountain summit.

Before long, the black-garbed patrollers from the Inspection Courtyard descended the mountain, spreading the news to soothe the people’s hearts while dispersing the gathered disciples from various places.

The once noisy Jilong Mountain gradually quieted down.

...

On the eastern side of Sunrise Mountain.

Chen Mu emerged from the ground and returned to the window on the second floor.

Thinking of how the white smoke monsters had been targeted by Song Wujie and killed beyond any chance of revival, he felt greatly relieved.

"It’s your own fault for being so elusive," he said.

"You’re just a wisp of white smoke but insist on wearing a human face. Plus, you can use the interdimensional Teleportation Escape Skill, tsk tsk…"

"You’re far too dangerous!"

"Watch my big bro Song Wujie summon the great magic!" Chen Mu chuckled as he lay back in the rocking chair.

"I’m not doing this just to get a good night’s sleep," he said.

"I’m simply trying to help eliminate the source of degeneration in Jilong Road."

"Yep, that’s right, haha…"

Chen Mu swayed contentedly in the rocking chair, feeling relaxed in body and mind.

Just as he was silently rejoicing, a discordant chattering sound reached his ears.

Chen Mu frowned, looking over with displeasure.

He saw five little paper men, each riding a white smoke monster with a human face, cheerfully flying towards him.

Chen Mu: "..."

Weren’t these ghostly things already killed by Song Wujie?

How could there be any that slipped through the net and appeared in my home?!

He immediately used Yama Emperor’s Command.

Ever since he suspected that the Yama Command might counter the white smoke creatures, he had made frequent use of it. Now, seeing the human-faced white smoke creatures again, he almost instinctively activated it. ȓä₦ộʙĘS̈

An invisible fluctuation spread out.

Hum!

The void trembled lightly.

Next moment, a dense mass of long white smoke snakes materialized in mid-air.

Countless identical faces just stared at him, their eyelids drooping.

Chen Mu: "..."

Fuck!

...

On the western edge of the Market District at the base of Jilong Mountain, within a small courtyard.

Three formidable men gathered together.

"General, the Strange Demon is dead, what do we do now…" the man on the left asked with a grave expression.

The Golden General, his face full of beard, wore an equally somber look: "How could a Strange Demon hidden between dimensions be discovered?"

"This particular Strange Demon must have been newborn and not sunk deep enough into the Netherworld," the man on the right analyzed with a frown. "If someone probed and attacked deliberately, it could have been detected."

"Forget it, overthinking is pointless," dismissed the Golden General with a wave of his hand. "Qian Mu, since the main body of the Strange Demon has dispersed, see if any Netherworld Worms have scattered."

"As long as we can find it, it’ll just cost us some Longevity Wine to speed up its growth and enlargement. We still have time," he said.

The man on the right, Qian Mu, nodded at these words.

He took a deep breath and slowly closed his eyes.

The next moment, countless eyes sprouted all over his face.

These eyes occupied all of his skin, and even on his closed eyelids, three pea-sized eyes grew out.

The eyes varied in size, black and white distinct, all opening simultaneously and moving as if each had its own consciousness, giving anyone who watched an involuntary shiver down their spine.

Even though the two beside him had seen it before, they couldn’t help but get goosebumps.

After a while, as the two were unable to help but rub their arms to soothe the goosebumps, Qian Mu finally closed his eyes.

"Found them!"

General Jin immediately rejoiced.

But Qian Mu frowned, "Strange, they seem to be converging on the same spot."

"Could it have fallen into some sort of magic trap?"

General Jin’s face changed in an instant, "Let’s go!"

...

On the second floor by the window, Chen Mu lay stiffly in the rocking chair, staring eye to eye with the many-faced monster.

Chen Mu didn’t move, and neither did the white smoke monsters.

Only the five little paper men continued dancing around carelessly.

"It seems... it’s not that dangerous after all."

Chen Mu’s eyes moved as he observed the white smoke monsters.

He noticed that although the faces were identical, the colors differed.

Some were vividly colored as if real, and some were black and white, vague and dim.

Their snake-like bodies were filled with white smoke which, when slightly stirred, would occasionally form patches of fur or scales.

He also discovered that these monsters didn’t actively absorb vital energy, but once vital energy drifted inside them, it would not reemerge.

It was as if they were erasers, wiping the vital energy from existence.

"They really are the root cause of the withering disease!"

Chen Mu thought as he looked at the quietly floating monsters, his heart stirred, and he activated the Yanmo Command again.

The white smoke monsters then began to circle him orderly, as if he were a diver who had unwittingly entered a school of deep-sea fish.

"That scared me to death," Chen Mu exhaled a long breath of relief.

The Yanmo Command worked, which meant these monsters were only frightening in appearance.

"Should I inform Mo Wuzhou?" Chen Mu hesitated.

"Better not."

"A subtle hint before was one thing, but catching so many white smoke monsters now would draw too much attention and inquiry."

"I have to deal with them as quickly as possible."

He turned his head to look at the cheerfully frolicking Five Ghosts Paper Men, feeling both annoyed and amused.

By now he had figured out that the appearance of so many white smoke monsters was likely due to the Five Ghosts Paper Men’s summoning.

I’m here scared out of my wits, and you five culprits are joyously frolicking?

That’s outrageous!

All of you, get to work!

Five Ghosts Moving Mountain!

The paper men suddenly turned into black smoke and pounced on the monster faces.

In the blink of an eye, the white smoke monsters in the room were consumed completely.

Chen Mu finally relaxed, and just as he thought to move his stiff body, he suddenly felt the Five Ghosts Bag at his chest vibrating nonstop.

He hurriedly checked it and saw the inner walls of the Five Ghosts Bag undulating and growing rapidly, expanding outwards.

In just a few breaths, it had become a giant spherical space over ten meters in diameter.

"White smoke monsters can enlarge the Five Ghosts Space?" Chen Mu was overjoyed.

Over the years, he had occasionally fed the Five Ghosts Bag with Exotic Beast blood and flesh. Although the space within the bag had expanded, it had always been minimal. Who would have thought that simply consuming some white smoke monsters would instantly double its size?

As he was quietly pleased with himself, he noticed another change within the Five Ghosts Bag.

Clouds of black smoke began to emerge within it, gathering like clouds and swirling around the space inside the bag.

Chen Mu’s heart skipped a beat.

He was all too familiar with this black smoke. It was none other than the Ghosts he hadn’t seen in years!

"Where did all these Ghosts come from inside the Five Ghosts Bag?!" Chen Mu couldn’t help but widen his eyes.
