Chapter 2720: Chapter 2721: Unconvinced

Zhang Dehong wanted to run, but his legs had already gone weak.

As soon as he took a step, his body collapsed onto the ground.

Lin Yi grabbed his collar, threw him next to the sofa, and sat down triumphantly, crossing his legs.

“So, tell me, where is your hideout, and who is calling the shots for you?”

“We know nothing! I’ll sue you!” Wang Xiucheng shouted.

“If you make it out alive, sue all you want.”

Lin Yi stood up, grabbed Wang Xiucheng’s leg, and lifted him upside down, rendering him into an inverted position.

“Society has progressed, allowing people like you to exploit loopholes. But let me tell you, there are special departments with certain rights, and they focus on these things every day,” Lin Yi said.

“If you don’t talk, I’ll keep you hanging. Let’s see how long you can last.”

As he spoke, Lin Yi noticed a half-bottle of mineral water by his feet, which he kicked up and caught with his hand.

Unscrewing the cap, Lin Yi slowly poured it over Wang Xiucheng’s face.

The mineral water flowed down his nasal cavity.

“Cough cough cough…”

Wang Xiucheng coughed violently because the inverted position was obstructing his breathing, and his face soon turned livid.

He was dumbfounded!

Yang Qingpeng and the others were stunned.

This was worse than ancient torture!

Lin Yi kept it within limits, releasing Wang Xiucheng after about half a minute.

Wang, feeling pardoned, collapsed on the ground, continuously coughing, the terror on his face as if he’d just returned from the gates of hell.

“Now, it’s your turn,” Lin Yi looked at Yang Qingpeng. “Let’s see how long you can last.”

“No, no, no, I give up, I’ll talk…”

Yang Qingpeng dared act arrogant in the police station not because he had any backbone, but because they had no evidence against him, and didn’t dare lay a hand on him.

But now with someone like this, ignoring all rules, if things continue this way, he’ll surely end up dead.

“Hold on, I’m just helping out. It’s better to speak with someone from the Zhonghu Branch about this kind of thing.”

Saying this, Lin Yi took out his phone and dialed Zhu Junchi’s number.

“Brother Zhu.”

“How’s it going on your end, do you need help?”

Lin Yi glanced at Wang Xiucheng, “Seems like they really do.”

“Be careful, don’t make any mistakes. We’re coming to support you now, don’t get yourself hurt.”

“No, no, no, I’m not in any danger. I just thought you’d better call an ambulance over here to send someone to the ICU first.”

“Damn, your old habit’s coming back, can’t you restrain yourself?”

Lin Yi laughed, “I don’t want it to be like this either, but they weren’t cooperating and I went a little overboard.”

“Alright, send me your address, and we’ll head over now.”

“Okay.”

Ending the call, Lin Yi sent the address to Zhu Junchi’s phone and then started playing a mobile game.

About half an hour later, police sirens could be heard outside.

Zhu Junchi and Liu Qingming came up with more than a dozen officers to find Yang Qingpeng’s group lying on the ground.

Upon seeing the police, Yang Qingpeng’s people saw them as saviors.

“Officer, please, hurry and take me away, I’ll tell you everything, I won’t dare act tough again.”

Witnessing Yang Qingpeng’s attitude, Liu Qingming and Su Ying were both surprised.

It’s likely Lin Yi had taken action against them to bring about this change.

But the issue was, there were no visible injuries on any of them—they looked just like normal people from the outside.

Even the guy squatting by the wall only had bruised skin, no external wounds.

Such methods were beyond ordinary capability.

“Captain Zhu, isn’t this a bit too risky? Things could easily go wrong,” Liu Qingming said.

“I’m not a cop, nothing will happen, don’t worry.”

Liu Qingming slapped his forehead, “How could I forget about this? Captain Zhu, the young man you brought is remarkable, but having him leave is surely a big loss for you.”

“There’s no helping it, everyone has their own ambitions, we can’t stop him,” Zhu Junchi said with a smile.

“You’re right,” Liu Qingming said with a hearty laugh, “Little Su, you should learn from this, it’s all experience.”

Liu Qingming meant nothing else by it, just polite talk for the occasion.

But Su Ying felt particularly uncomfortable hearing it.

For a long time, she’s been a competitive person, unwilling to lose unless thoroughly overpowered.

“If I could take action, I would have settled this long ago,” Su Ying thought to herself.

“Captain Liu, let’s take these people back,” Zhu Junchi said, “As for the one in the corner, send him to the hospital first.”

“Alright.”

Under Liu Qingming’s arrangement, Yang Qingpeng’s people were taken back to the police station.

Wang Xiucheng, however, was sent to the hospital.

But they didn’t even need to reach the station; on the way, Yang Qingpeng and the others confessed voluntarily.

To Lin Yi’s surprise, these people weren’t imposters.

They were actual Daoist priests, and their gathering spot was Nanmao Mountain outside of Pingjiang City!

Lin Yi learned that Nanmao Mountain is a legitimate tourist site. Though it doesn’t have the bustling activity of Longhu Mountain, it is fairly well known locally.

He couldn’t believe that a proper place like this would be involved in such a scheme.

After returning, everyone gathered in the office to discuss the capture plan.

“Captain Zhu, what do you think about this?”

Liu Qingming politely offered the first chance to speak to Zhu Junchi.

“I feel this case is very similar to one we’ve encountered before; they’ve established a stronghold and expanded from there, making capturing them very challenging.”

Having said that, Zhu Junchi looked towards Lin Yi and Gu Yiran.

“You two share your thoughts as well.”

“I think they’re an organized and disciplined group, so we shouldn’t underestimate them. We should send additional personnel to block all surrounding roads, then send plainclothes officers to scout the area, forming the most suitable capture plan,” Gu Yiran suggested.

“What about you, Lin Yi?”

“I think the same,” Lin Yi said, “That place is a tourist area. Although it’s not very popular, many people still come and go every day. So we can’t rush things. If they become desperate, we’ll end up at a disadvantage.”

Liu Qingming thought for a few seconds, feeling that Lin Yi and Gu Yiran’s words made sense.

“Captain Zhu, let’s each assign two people to infiltrate and gather comprehensive information before proceeding with the capture. What do you think?”

“No problem, let’s go with your plan.”

“Then it’s settled,” Liu Qingming said as he glanced over the group, “Let’s act now to not give them time to react!”
