Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage
Chapter 431 - 431: 431: What Business Do You Have?Without hesitation, Orson took Laketon to a barren wasteland outside the royal city.
“You’ve discovered the ruins of the Royal Guard’s battle!”
This was a large-scale ancient battlefield site where level 70-80 Elite monsters like Blood Demons and Ghouls spawned.
In the world of Infinite Dimensions, monster spawn points usually refresh after players defeat a certain number of monsters, following a fixed time pattern. This system prevents an overwhelming number of monsters from spawning at once, which could lead to the annihilation of the players.
However, with Orson’s monster-clearing speed, even if he maxed out the range of his Ice Prison Ring, he could only spawn monsters from 10 to 15 points simultaneously.
Since he used large-area AOE (Area of Effect) damage, he could quickly clear waves of monsters. After finishing one batch, he would have to wait for the spawn points to refresh to start over, inevitably wasting a lot of time in between.
But with Laketon’s ability to alter the monster spawn rules, the efficiency of monster farming would theoretically increase exponentially.
Orson, eager to test this out, rode his Crimson Lizard King and dove down from the clouds.
“Push forward! Get close to the output!”
A cold voice echoed. Orson’s expression changed slightly as he muttered to himself, “Has a guild already started farming monsters over level 20?”
In the wasteland, there were numerous mounds marking the homes of the level 70 Elite Blood Demons. But now, many of these mounds had been blown open, revealing blood-soaked limbs and torsos. Over a thousand Blood Demon corpses littered the ground, still not fully dissipated.
Surrounding the mounds were Ghouls, monsters resembling beasts with four limbs planted on the ground, their eyes glowing green. These Ghouls were being pushed back under the onslaught of Holy Light magic.
“Holy Light Church NPCs?”
Orson muttered in surprise. He could clearly see several high-ranking NPCs from the church, soldiers carrying the Holy Silver Dragon banner.
The silver dragon flag radiated brilliant holy light, weakening the Ghouls within its aura.
Around them, hundreds of high-level players took the opportunity to push the line forward and unleashed massive AOE attacks, quickly clearing multiple spawn points of the Ghouls.
“Ranged players, restore mana; knights, heal up; thieves, clean up the battlefield; get ready for the next Blood Demon spawn.”
A woman riding a silver dragon hovered in the air above the battlefield. She had flawless, porcelain-like skin and an air of arrogance. On her back were a pair of magnificent wings, making her appear as pure and holy as an angel.
“Holy Light Church — Candidate for Pope, Saintess.”
Orson’s eyes gleamed as he instantly recognized her. It was Snow Dream, his “good disciple” whom he had personally trained.
Snow Dream had reached an impressive level of 57, second only to Blank, who was level 58 on the leaderboard.
Orson’s brow furrowed. He could see the Weaponization Process of players, and right now, Snow Dream wasn’t just at a high level; her Weaponization Process had already reached 16%.
For a wind mage with only an A-rank class at the start, this was an extraordinary achievement.
Since the last time she had been chased by Orson, Snow Dream had revealed the locations of the Red-robed Archbishops of the Holy Light Church, trading that information for her life.
Now, with the help of Madman and Bradley, seven of those archbishops had been killed.
They had successfully acquired the Saint’s Stone Carving, which could imprison the ancient teleportation arrays.
Through the exploration of their guild, they had found five ancient teleportation arrays outside the UJ district.
Unfortunately, most of these arrays only led to smaller districts, which Orson hadn’t found much interest in exploring.
The Pope Candidate?
Orson shook his head. He realized Snow Dream’s strategy — it was a classic “drive the wolf away to swallow the tiger” plan!
In theory, as the Saintess of the Holy Light Church, she had the right to inherit the papacy, just like the other Red-robed Archbishops.
Once all twelve Red-robed Archbishops were killed, Snow Dream only needed to kill the Pope to complete her rise to power!
This would give her control over the high-level NPC forces of the Holy Light Church.
Orson sighed inwardly. He saw through her scheming, but he couldn’t help but support her. The Saint’s Stone Carving was also incredibly important to him.
Strategic Trickster: “Riley, someone strong is here!”
The arrogance was palpable:
“Dragon King! This golden-bodied, black-winged dragon is definitely the Dragon King! Is this player another top NPC?”
A massive shadow cast over the wasteland, and not only did the players freeze in terror, but even some high-intelligence NPCs trembled in fear.
Dragon King!
A quasi-god, untouchable by anyone daring to challenge!
“Retreat!”
The Crimson Lizard King growled, and the aura of the Celestial Winged Dragon swept across the battlefield. The players stopped their attacks, staring at the figure on the back of the dragon with fear.
“It’s him! The Lord of Forever City!”
Strategic Trickster exclaimed, his body shaking in cold sweat as he recognized the golden skull mask.
A man, shrouded in mystery, had easily replaced the feared US Triple Crown Winner.
The Golden Dragon King Soros had fallen, and it was initially believed that Usher was behind it.
However, rumors quickly spread that the golden-faced warrior was actually Usher’s father.
Players scanned him with the panel, but only got a string of gibberish in return. For a time, the Infinite Dimensions forum was flooded with speculations.
This man, just like Orgod, had vanished without a trace. No one knew whether he was an NPC or a player.
“Lord of Forever City, Warrior class?”
Snow Dream furrowed her brow. She couldn’t make sense of Orgod’s disappearance, nor could she understand the sudden rise of the man before her.
Since the creation of Forever City, she had suspected that the golden-faced warrior was Orgod in disguise.
But after witnessing the Pondenorlin City Dragon Battle and seeing him fight in person, it was clear that he used advanced fighting techniques, not magic — something no player, not even a high-level thief, could pull off.
“Greetings, my friend. May I ask what brings you here?”
Snow Dream composed herself, smiling slightly, as she urged her Hera, the adult silver dragon, toward Orson.
“10.”
“9.”
“8.”
…
A cold countdown echoed from Orson’s mouth.
Snow Dream’s face changed slightly, and she asked again, “May I ask if there’s a misunderstanding between us? If you wish to farm monsters, this battlefield is large, and we can give you half.”
Strategic Trickster: “He only needs to give up half? That will delay our progress on collecting materials for hidden quests.”
Orson didn’t respond, staring down at Snow Dream with a menacing presence, and spoke again: “3.”
Snow Dream could feel the tremors of Hera beneath her, and the overwhelming aura of the Dragon King made the silver dragon’s soul tremble.
Hera: “Run… run quickly! I don’t want to die… I don’t want to die!”
Snow Dream’s face turned pale as she realized that Hera, an 80-level adult dragon, dared not even look at Orson.
“Your battle pet’s loyalty has decreased.”
“Loyalty reduced to 49 points.”
“Your…”
