Chapter 974 - Spirit Shaping Heavenly Fire

Chapter 974: Spirit Shaping Heavenly Fire

Take for example the Destruction of Yin Yang—this had been Zhang Poxiao’s trump card back in the day. It was rumored that it was a fifth rank small path remarkable power and was close to being a sixth-ranked power.

In the entire Peng Lai Immortal Realm, there were not too many people who had attained a sixth rank small path remarkable power. This applied to monks at the Supreme Profundity Realm, let alone regular monks. Unless you were as highly ranked as the Tianhua Palace Lord, or a second or third palace lord, it would be difficult for the average monk at the Supreme Profundity Realm to obtain a fourth or sixth rank small path remarkable power.

Even Mo Wen’s Yin Yang Heaven and Earth Great Shift was but a third-grade small path.

Of course, Mo Wen was not yet strong enough to achieve the Destruction of Yin Yang. This remarkable power was not much help to him in his current situation. However, there was still another way for him to channel Yin Yang Qi, although it was not much help to him now.

It was the Yin Yang Qi: Yin Yang Conversion Manuscript.

Up until now, Mo Wen had always thought that Yin Yang Qi was a relatively mild and peaceful power ill-suited for killing.

But he now realized that he had been wrong. Not only was Yin Yang Qi suitable for killing, but it was actually a frightening power when unleashed.

It also entailed a technique to channel Yin Yang Qi—Yin Yang Conversion.

Yin Yang Conversion allowed Yin Yang Qi to be converted into either Tai Yang or Tai Ying power. This sort of conversion was the most thorough and most fundamental of its kind and was similar to how Mo Wen had been training his Tai Yang or Tai Ying power.

This had always been an inherent characteristic of Yin Yang Qi. It was just that Mo Wen had never known about it before.

Both Tai Yang power and Tai Ying power were two of the pinnacle powers of Heaven and Earth. Both powers were forces to be reckoned with, whether they were used for destruction or ruin, and they were not forces the average spiritual power could contend against.

What a spectacle it would be to convert all the cultivation in your body into either Yin or Yang power!

Mo Wen was excited. Although he had already mastered the Nine Yin Genuine Qi and the Nine Yang Genuine Qi, neither of the powers had been as thorough as this one, although they were extraordinary powers in their own right. After all, there had been three powers flowing through his body back then, and each of the three powers had been used separately from one another. When he used the Power of the Nine Yin, the power cultivated with the Power of the Nine Yang and the Celestial Scripture: Sun and Moon was still in his body.

The power was mixed and impure, and it diverged. It could not hit the standard of the pinnacle, and it was rather limited as an offensive power.

But things were different now. Mo Wen’s Yin Yang Qi could be converted completely and, once it was converted into Tai Ying Power, it would become that and only that. There would not be a single trace of other powers in his body, and this was true if he converted his energy into Tai Yang Power too.

“If it’s converted into a single pinnacle power, there will be no limitations imposed on my cultivation, and my attacking power will increase several times.”

Mo Wen had never been more exhilarated. He had finally found a way to break through the ninth light shroud, and this solution was one that could increase the strength in his entire body.

The Yin Yang Conversion was a rather fundamental way of using Yin Yang Qi. It was nothing too high-level, but those who were just starting out with this technique would find it difficult to use it as they wished if they did not have at least a few years of training under their belt.

But Mo Wen was different. He had already mastered the Tai Chi Purple Light. This was a technique that contained the power of the Heavenly Path of Tai Chi, which was the core of the way of Yin and Yang. With the help of the Tai Chi Purple Light, Mo Wen was completely in his element when he had to deal with the technique of changing Yin and Yang.

Actually, there were several manuscripts that Zhang Poxiao had left behind which described the Tai Chi Purple Light. He had even penned a few theses regarding the topic himself.

However, he had never really come close to the Tai Chi Purple Light himself, so whatever thoughts he had were just empty talk, which was one of the greatest regrets he had in his life. If he had been like Mo Wen and trained enough to master the Tai Chi Purple Light, his attainments on the way of Yin and Yang might have been better than it had ended up being. Perhaps his fate might have been different.

With Mo Wen’s mastery of the Tai Chi Purple Light, it would probably take him a few hours to use the Yin Yang Conversion technique as he wished.

Three days went by.

Suddenly, it was like a sun had risen in the main hall. The entire hall was filled with a brilliant, golden light.

It was as if Mo Wen had morphed into the sun. His entire was blended into the sea of gold. He walked out slowly to stop in front of the light shroud and gently touched it with one palm. He did not seem to put much strength into it, but the ninth light film that had been motionless suddenly vibrated violently.

Before this, the light shroud had no response at all no matter how Mo Wen struck at it. Now, just one light pat was enough to make it vibrate violently. The light shroud seemed like it could tear at any moment.

It was not just that. The entire light shroud was now like a piece of roasted shrimp. Its surface was completely red, and it looked like burning iron.

Ultimate Yang Power transformed from Yin Yang Qi—no power could avoid being burned by this.

But the ninth light shroud seemed like it was the real deal. It remained intact even in such a situation.

Mo Wen chuckled coldly, and the air around him changed. Almost in that split second, his ultimate Yang Power morphed into ultimate Yin Power. The entire process seemed seamless. It was as if he had transformed for no reason.

A dim light cloaked the main hall. The four walls and the surface of the ground were covered by layers of ice crystals. Every bit of the ground that Mo Wen stepped on crumbled bit by bit.

The sturdy floorboards of the main hall were frozen to dust by the terrifying ultimate Ying Power. Just one step would shatter the floor.

The material used to construct the main hall was no ordinary substance. At the very least, it was built to withstand power at the pinnacle of the Primordial Soul Realm. Otherwise, there was no reason for the fourth test of the assessment to be held here.

Yet now, the hall was being destroyed by Mo Wen. The surface layer, at least, had been destroyed. Mo Wen held a terrifying power in his hands, but the extent of it was unsurprising to those who knew him.

Mo Wen, once again, tapped lightly with his palm. The dim glow of his palm landed on the light shroud that was glowing red. Ice and fire, Yin and Yang. The ninth light shroud was unable to defend itself against the unbelievably destructive force that had erupted all of a sudden, and it slowly faded into nothingness, fragment by fragment.

“Yin Yang Qi! As I expected of the Yin Yang QI!”

Mo Wen’s lips curled up into a smile. So this was the true strength of the Yin Yang Qi. He was able to switch between the two pinnacle powers as he pleased and summon forth an unimaginable power from them.

Mo Wen took one step forward and walked into the final main hall. He had gone through a lot to get here.

Mo Wen was not sure how many people had come as far as he did throughout the history of this challenge, but he was very pleased that he had been able to make it this far.

The final ancient hall was slightly different from the other ancient halls. This one had a huge cauldron furnace. With just a glance, Mo Wen thought that it was similar to a furnace used in alchemy but, upon further inspection, it did not actually seem to be.

Without giving him more time to contemplate it, the lid of the huge cauldron was suddenly lifted up. A bout of suction force was released from within, and Mo Wen was sucked right into it. With a smacking sound, the lid slammed shut. The huge cauldron furnace floated into the air, then started spinning madly.

Time flowed by, bit by bit. A deathly silence enveloped the main hall. There was nothing but the huge cauldron furnace spinning soundlessly.

It was difficult to tell time while in an environment of absolute silence, but an estimated half a month had elapsed before the huge cauldron furnace slowly descended.

Rumble!

The lid of the furnace opened abruptly, and streaks of colorful mists sprayed out from the furnace. The expansive hall was instantly drenched in a layer of strange fragrance.

After a split second, a figure flew out from inside. It was Mo Wen!

“Sculpted spirit heavenly fire and created embryonic heavenly furnace!”

Mo Wen turned to look at the large cauldron furnace. He had never expected the Path of Creation to have such a valuable treasure.

The sculpted spirit heavenly fire was a thing of legend. It could reshape the core treasury of a person to expand its volume.

The created embryonic heavenly furnace, on the other hand, worked in tandem with the sculpted spirit heavenly fire to modify valuable treasures refined by the human body.

The results produced by a sculpted spirit heavenly fire working with a created embryonic heavenly furnace far exceeded that of a single sculpted spirit heavenly fire.

“In this world, items that can shape one’s core treasury are far rarer than items that can thoroughly modify a human body. The sculpted spirit heavenly fire is truly a thing of legend!”

At this moment, Mo Wen’s heart was pounding. This was truly a fortuitous encounter. As the saying went, some things exist outside of your imagination.

The average martial art practitioner might not know anything about the core treasury, but there was no way someone of Mo Wen’s level could fail to know.

As everyone knew, the power cultivated by monks was stored in the core. However, that was superficial.

Just how big was the core? One could say that the size varied from person to person, but the difference was not actually that big. At the very least, the difference would not be as big as the one between the Regulated Breathing Realm and the Golden Elixir Realm. If the Regulated Breathing Realm was a small stream, then the Golden Elixir Realm was the vast ocean. Since both strengths could be stored in the core, how much bigger could a Golden Elixir Realm martial arts practitioner’s core be than that of a Regulated Breathing Realm martial arts practitioner?

In reality, the strength cultivated by monks was never within the core. It was in the core treasury.

To put it into simpler terms, there was a mysterious space in the core called the treasury.

The core might not be able to expand ceaselessly, but the treasury could, and it was not affected by the size of the core.

The existence of the treasury was classified under a rather mysterious part of the human body. Within it existed several layers of regulated mysteries. It was similar to storage rings: it was not too big on the outside, but it had a colossal space within it.

Giants from the past could swallow lofty mountains tens of times bigger than themselves, but this was essentially them eating and swallowing said mountains into their treasury before digesting the energy.

The realm of Cultivation was divided reasonably. The breaches between realms seemed to span one realm but, in actual fact, this was actually the treasury expanding. Take for example a Regulated Breathing monk whose treasury could only store a cup of water. No matter how much you forced it, the most you could store in it was a bucketful of water. There was no way you could fit a lake into it. A Golden Elixir monk, on the other hand, had a treasury vast enough to store mountains and rivers.

Mo Wen had not broken through to the Primordial Soul Realm yet, which meant his treasury was still lacking one more expansion. It didn’t matter how extensive his Yin Yang Qi training was. He was almost at the limit of the total capacity he could have at the Primordial Soul Realm intermediate stage. On top of that, this was all with the help of the Pool of Rejuvenation. In regular circumstances, it was a limit in itself to be on par with monks at the Primordial Soul Realm preliminary stage. No matter how you spun it, Mo Wen’s treasury space would continue to hamper his growth since he had not expanded it to break through to the Primordial Soul Realm.

However, the sculpted spirit heavenly fire could overcome the shackles of the realms and move right ahead to expanding the treasury of monks. At the same time, it could reshape the treasury and increase its quality.

Through the remolding done by the sculpted spirit heavenly fire and created embryonic heavenly furnace, Mo Wen’s treasury had expanded enough to be able to sustain the pinnacle of the Primordial Soul Realm. In other words, Mo Wen’s Yin Yang Qi could easily attain the pinnacle of the Primordial Soul Realm if he kept training. He could even achieve this before he broke through to the Primordial Soul Realm!

This was legendary! A legend that broke through conventional knowledge and all of this was made possible by the sculpted spirit heavenly fire and created embryonic heavenly furnace. The quality of Mo Wen’s treasury was now changing. He could cultivate his Yin Yang Qi to the pinnacle of the Primordial Soul Realm without breaking through to it. This also meant that, once he broke through to that realm, his treasury would expand once again. On top of its current foundation, the expanded surface area would be one that was unimaginable for the regular Primordial Soul Realm monk.
