ISEKAI JOURNEY OF THE MAGIC ARCHER

Chapter 1149 - 1149: A chance encounter

[Eon’s POV: ]

“The tower has a form?”

“It has an ego, yes. The form we saw must be the materialization of the Ego. But then again, we didn’t find any unique cave where the core might be hidden, nor did we get to see what we were expecting.”

Now that we were back and Anna’s lecture had ended, I was sitting with Rein while Zoe was handling the other things.

‘We went for the core of the tower, but ended up finding the tower’s self.’

The place where we were was an illusionary space created by a powerful entity, so it was pretty obvious that even as an ego, the being that we know as the tower is pretty powerful.

“She’s looking after us…”

The fact that we met her wasn’t just a coincidence– it wasn’t a chance encounter.

We were able to meet her because she allowed for it. She was the one who revealed herself to us when we almost made a mistake that we were able to see her true form, otherwise, we would have never really known about her.

‘But we know now.’

Now that she has revealed herself to us, it might not be long before she reveals herself to the others as well. But that is secondary…

“She said we will get what we want when we need it. So, at the very least, I guess we will get the energy output that we need to activate the gate.” Zoe needs to run many tests before she actually gets satisfied with the results.

We are going back with Anna and the others this time. The people that we will be bringing back are already a lot so we cannot make any mistakes with this.

Since it has to be perfect, Zoe won’t tolerate even a 0.1% greater margin of error than what she had in mind. The mistakes in the process of spatial transportation will cause more trouble than anything we can afford.

Thus, this needs to go well. And to make it go well, we will make sure everything is in order… It would have been nice if we could run some tests, but now, we will have to place a good amount of trust in the energy input that we will receive from the tower.

“Haaaa. And she asked me to take care of myself and get stronger like everyone else or else she will lock me up.” We could feel her attachment and warmth when we were facing her, but she also had her expectations.

“Hmm? Oh, even I support that. You’re not doing as much as you should for yourself, darling.” Rein could understand what the tower might have wanted to say with those words.

She knew how important everyone else was to us, so not just as someone connected to the creator of this tower, but also as someone the tower had looked after for a long time, she wanted us to achieve everything that we wanted while we were here.

‘She knew I had not been focusing on myself.’

There was a lot more that I needed to achieve for myself while I was here. I needed to get stronger like the rest of them, I needed to open up a Solnova blockage and earn greater control over my Stigma.

There was so much to do and yet I was not doing much of anything, focusing on the others and the way to get back, and on Anna and how to train her and things related to that… doing all these, there was not much time to focus on myself in the first place.

“You have to start now, Eon.” Putting her hand around my back, she placed her head on my shoulder.

“You’ve been running around for the others, looking after them more than yourself. And it was thanks to you that all of us managed to achieve something in the time we have been here.

I don’t know what we might have done had it not been for you.” She was speaking in a low voice, her tone was full of gratitude.

But there was a hint of anger as well– she did not like how I was focusing on the others even though everyone had found their place in the tower.

“We know what we have to do now.

Anna will be looked after by the others, Carla and Alf are doing well with Grandpa, and Mime will soon achieve her breakthrough as well.

President and Del are doing well with their own things, Quin and her new friend is doing well as well, and even Chry is doing well with his training.

There’s not much you have to do now, we are doing fine. It’s time for you to focus on yourself now.”

Since everyone was new to the environment of the tower, I was worried about them. I had been looking after them all this time, but it doesn’t seem like I will have to continue this anymore.

“Yeah…”

Now that everyone has settled down in the tower, it is perhaps time for me to start with my own things as well.

“I should start.”

I’ve not been doing much. Even compared to Rein, I had not really achieved many great results.

The power of stigma, the training with the new powers that I have obtained, training the divinity of my stigma and the authorities of my master that she left behind, even training with my Solnova… There is so much that I still need to do.

On top of that, we still have to decode the white crystal magic tome that Rein obtained a while back.

‘There’s so much to do… haaaaa.’

We still have more than a month and a half for all this. I still have time, and we should be able to achieve quite a bit even if we focus on leveling our skills and powers alone.

“Ok then. I will start tomorrow-.”

“Today, darling. You should start right away.” With a smile that wasn’t really asking me to do it, she patted my back and stood up.

“Let’s go, now. Let’s see what you have to work on first.”

She started dragging me first, ready to drag me all the way to the training ground where I would show her what I could do with the power of my stigma… but I had to stop her.

“Rein, not today. Please.”

I already had a lot to think about for today– the tower, the form that we saw, the space that we saw, what she told us, as well as the other things that have now become clear to us.

I needed to resolve these things before I could think about the other stuff. We can start training from tomorrow, a new day should be better for this anyway.

“No. I know you will start your analysis and whatnot and just waste your time now that you have it. If you want to think, then think while training. Let’s go.”

She didn’t listen to anything I said after that and I was ultimately dragged to an empty training room.

“Your stigma was activated, right? Let’s test out your new powers.”

Since she had been working on controlling her eye powers for a while now, she had become quite proficient with them.

She had trained for Anna’s summoning as well, so she had gotten the hang of her powers.

“Do you want me to help you?” With her eyes glowing in a bright pink, she was all ready to help me with my own powers, however, I stopped her and shook my head.

“There’s no need, Rein. Let me show you what I can do with it for today.” I didn’t want to train anyway, so showing her what I could do with the power of this stigma was enough training for the time being.

“Ummm…” The light in her eyes calmed down, and she sat down right where she was standing with an upset expression.

It seemed like she really wanted to help me out with these things, but alas, today wasn’t the day.

“Ok then, do your thing.” she at least wasn’t demotivated though. She knew how to handle herself.

“Ok then…” she had learned a lot about her own powers as well, but in the past few days, there were quite a few things that I had learned about my stigma as well.

The biggest thing that I learned from everything though, was one simple fascinating fact– my master left all of her powers to me.

‘And by all her powers, I do mean everything.’

Including all her authorities that I cannot even use right now, her unique skills, as well as the powers that she could use thanks to her unique deposition, everything that she had in her last moment, she gave me through the stigma.

“Unlike the usual stigmas that the higher beings use to claim someone as their own, my great master left everything she had to me, making me her successor in literal meaning.”

The authority of her white flames, the flames of all kinds that she could use, the power to manipulate flames of all kinds, the power to create things that one cannot create by normal means, the skills to attack, defend, and preserve… all kinds of magic, runes, the access to truths that she had, through the stigma, I could access all of it.

‘However, there are still limitations.’

I cannot use those powers however I want.

I am not strong enough for that just yet.

But still, the things I could do through the power of this stigma are unbelievable…

‘Really unbelievable…’
