Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer
Chapter 1195 - 1195: The hands of question[Eon’s POV: ]
The oaths were taken, and even though the decision was made by our presidents and we were accepted by the headmaster as the new heads of the student council, there were some individuals who had their own questions.
“So, students.”
There were some hands raised right after our oath. And we were expecting this as well.
It was also a tradition for the newly appointed student council presidents to answer the questions of their teachers and fellow students.
“Why do you think the Previous presidents chose you as the new head?” It was a pretty general question but the one asking this time was our homeroom teacher, Sir Jaz.
He was the first question we were taking, but we knew for sure there were going to be some unique questions that we weren’t expecting so we prepared ourselves.
“Wanna go first?” Rein asked me with a smile, her eyes fixed on the teachers sitting right in front of the stage.
“Nah. You can have the honors.” I could answer, but there was no need to. This would be more fun.
“Sure~.”
She was excited since this was our class teacher. He was someone that didn’t really like complicated and long answers, but with Rein, we all knew he was going to get exactly that kind of answer.
He was pretty surprised when I gave her the mic as well. But at the back, we could hear some giggles from our column of friends.
‘Tia was having fun right now. She was definitely going to brag about this all around the academy and the island later, that much we knew as well.’
Now that we were the presidents of the student council, there was no way she would not brag about us all around the academy.
Being friends with the student council presidents was not a small thing, after all.
But she was the only one that was going to take pride in it and talk about it with everyone. Hopefully though, she doesn’t do anything funny just because we were her friends.
{ “Respectful teachers, I speak for both of us when we say we have an idea what might have led to this decision, however, the decision was ultimately taken by them.” }
The two of them were the ultimate decision makers. There might have been some logical reasons. Perhaps our friendship and battles that we have fought together influenced their decisions.
The food that I have made for them all this time, our relationship with the headmaster and the other people around the world, the powers that we have, the actual resources that we possess– the fact that we both possessed divine powers.
There were so many things that could have led to this decision that I could not say for certain.
{ “However, if we have to say for ourselves, we would say it was because of our competencies.” }
What mattered the most to hold and justify the position of a student council president was someone that possessed the competencies to lead others, the competencies to carry out certain missions as discreetly as possible, and to have good judgement.
On the other hand, a vice president needs the competencies of a good managing entity, someone who can keep an eye on various matters.
Someone who could keep the president in check so that they do not misuse their authority and someone who could have a great intuition.
{ “Lucifer is a great individual. He is smart and strong. There are some things that he lacks, I’d confess, but there are some things that he could do better than most others around us.” }
The fact that she was ‘confessing’ that I lacked some things was not a wordplay. She was looking directly at the teachers with the vice headmaster sitting right in the middle of them so it might also have come off as personal.
{ “We know we could do everything that this position requires, and perhaps more. Perhaps we can exceed the expectations that this position would have for us. Perhaps we will go down in history for being one of the best that have assumed this position.” }
It was possible, she wasn’t even exaggerating it.
Those words were based on our past actions, achievements, and the situations that we have been in.
‘Including the things that we have done of the headmaster with the academy, our contributions during the Lakmer war, the Grand conference, the Kaksha infiltration, and even the Creation of [Lifeblood] an achievement that one cannot ignore, the things we have done are already extraordinary.’
The fact that we were chief contributors to the uncovering of the Demonic Cultists was also something that highlighted our achievements.
“Oh? That’s quite the statement, Miss.”
The teacher wasn’t impressed but there was a smile on his face.
He found it quite nice to see Rein not beating around the bush and saying things out as she saw them. In fact, what she said wasn’t even wrong. Even the teachers knew we could very well make history as the council heads.
{ “Do you doubt us, teacher?” }
Rein was usually very approachable and friendly, but right now, the kind of aura that one could feel from her as she looked right in the eyes of the teacher was something that reminded the students watching of their vice president Cradle.
“There is nothing to doubt yet, student.” The fact that Sir Jez was emphasizing the word ‘student’ so obviously also had many implications.
The other teachers would have done the same if they were asking any of the questions. In fact, I know they are going to do the same just to remind us we were still just the students even though we had been appointed in this position.
{ “We shall not give you any reason to doubt you either then, Teacher.” }
But Rein wasn’t just going to take their throws. If we were simply students, they were also simply teachers of this academy at the end of the day.
They did not hold any great powers or authority beyond the academy, which will not be the case for us in the positions we hold.
“Huh. You’ve got quite the pride, Miss. Intriguing how I see that in the classroom.” Sir Jaz shook his head with another smile and, at that perfect statement, Rein replied with a smile similar to his.
{ “We aren’t members of the student council in the classroom, Teacher. We are there to accept your teachings and that we do diligently.” }
It wasn’t arrogance that she was showing right now. She wasn’t overconfident either.
And seeing this scene made many of the teachers put down their hands.
“Then we shall look forward to your performance, new council heads.” He was content with this much for now, so he nodded at us, at the two presidents behind us, and to his fellow teachers.
“So then…”
Following him, some other teachers also asked us questions regarding whether we knew some things that we needed to know before holding this position, what it meant, and things like that.
We weren’t taught any of that, but we answered them at least in a way that satisfied their curiosities.
Then, we took the first question from Our student body, the first being, of course, the loudest one that had been jumping on her seat for some time now.
{ “Yes, Tia…” }
I had no idea what she was going to ask. She was just too unpredictable at this point.
“Yes! Finally~!”
She was happy when we finally gave her the chance. She immediately turned into her bigger self as well.
Then, taking the Mic that was passed to her, she looked around her and, with not a smile but a concerned expression, looked at me.
{ “We will still get to have lunch with you after this, right?” }
A very important question that reminded every single student to present something very important.
“Oh! That’s right!”
“Won’t you be busy with work from now on?!”
“Are we not going to have lunch together from now on?”
Not just the ones from our group but even the students that merely joined us for lunch were stunned by the question.
They were actually afraid they weren’t going to have my cooked dishes from now on. The lunch time was a kind of sacred time for many of them that brought them together or motivated them to come for the lectures.
Many of them waited for lunch time just to have the food that we cooked, but if we were in the student council, they feared we would not be able to join them.
However, they did not have to worry about all that.
{ “President Zodiac and Vice President Cradle might not get to have it but we promise we won’t be missing lunch time with you all… at least if it’s possible, we would be there.” }
I liked cooking for others. I wasn’t going to miss out on it just because of the duties that we needed to look after as the council heads.
{ “Nice~! Thanks, both of you~!” }
Tia was happy to hear that answer. And the others were as well.
However, they knew we might not get to have lunch everyday from now on. With the work, we might be away from the academy often as well.
But they were going to believe me and hope for the best this time.
{ “Alright, if that’s cleared…” }
Tia wasn’t the only one that had questions. And thanks to her questions, the hands that were raised had increased as well. So, I think this session was going to go on for a bit longer…
‘There should only be a homeroom class today as well, so we will have time to go and see the office after that.’
There is still the farewell party that we have to give, so preparations for that were needed to be finished as well.
Though, I think things ended pretty well.
‘This much is a good outcome.’
And now that we are done with the appointment ceremony, I want to go and have a chat with the headmaster.
‘Since he was back here, the matter that he was looking after should have been resolved as well, right?’
