LACKEY'S SEDUCING SURVIVAL ODYSSEY
Chapter 745 - 745: Mother-in-law's Thoughts and Awkwardness: Part-1Emberlyn always slept beside her daughters… Even though she didn’t necessarily want to, her daughters would always plead with her to sleep beside them so they could feel safe and happy…. And though she often sighed in resignation, she could never bring herself to refuse them.
However, no matter how much she doted on her daughters, she could not bring herself to sleep on the same bed as the Emperor.
He was, after all, her son-in-law. And though he was now part of the family, she still respected him deeply—so deeply, in fact, that she instinctively maintained a certain distance.
And so, as always, she chose to sleep on the floor, right beside the bed.
But today, something shattered that routine.
When she found her Emperor lying motionless on the ground, her heart nearly stopped. A wave of terror surged through her, but before panic could fully set in, she quickly knelt beside him, her fingers pressing against his chest—searching, hoping—until she finally felt it.
A faint, fragile heartbeat.
Her body sagged in relief, but there was no time to waste. She and her daughter rushed to care for him, lifting him with difficulty and taking him to his room. Just as they settled him down, her other daughter walked in.
The moment her eyes landed on Aether’s still form, her face drained of colour.
It was like a domino effect. Fear and tears spread through them like wildfire. But Emberlyn, as the eldest and as their mother, forced herself to remain composed. Taking a deep breath, she reached out, gently pulling both her daughters into her arms.
“Shh, my darlings,” she whispered soothingly, her voice steady despite the pounding in her chest. “He will be fine. You have to believe that.”
Whether it was her voice, her warmth, or something else entirely, the tension in the air gradually eased…. And just as she had assured them, Aether’s body slowly regained its colour.
Both sisters sighed in unison, the weight of fear lifting from their shoulders.
Once the panic subsided, they sat together, discussing the important event—and more specifically, what one of her daughters had done to cause it.
Hours passed in whispered conversation, and eventually, exhaustion pulled them back toward sleep.
And, just as usual, Emberlyn moved to her usual spot on the floor.
It had become such a deeply ingrained habit that she didn’t even think twice about it. Her mattress was always there, waiting for her, so she simply lay down, closed her eyes, and let herself rest…
Until everything spiraled out of control.
“What the fuc—”
A sudden, sharp shout pierced the silence, jolting Emberlyn awake. Her entire body tensed as her orange eyes shot open. Just as she was about to sit up and check on her Emperor—
“Aether…?”
“H-Husband?”
Before Emberlyn could react, her daughters sprang forward, practically launching themselves at him as they collapsed into his embrace, their cries muffled against his chest.
She blinked, then sighed, a small, fond smile tugging at her lips, ‘Well, I suppose that’s to be expected…’
Rather than interrupting them, she decided to wait. She had spent years raising her daughters—she knew when to step in and when to let them have their moment.
And so, she simply lay back on her mattress, resting her head against the pillow, listening.
For a moment, the room was filled with nothing but soft sobs and murmured reassurances. But then—
“It seems… my little sister is in love with you,” one of her daughters stated, completely deadpan.
Emberlyn’s lips twitched. She barely managed to stifle a chuckle, quickly covering her mouth.
Instead of stepping in… she decided to observe. (That’s a second mistake!)
‘Oh? This is getting interesting…’
She knew her daughters well—knew their personalities, their quirks, their tendencies—but this was an unexpected development. She was curious to see where this would lead.
When her eldest daughter spoke next, her voice was clear, firm—possessive.
“He is mine… and I am his.”
Emberlyn’s eyes narrowed in amusement.
‘Oh my…’
Now that was unexpected.
She had never, in all her years, heard her daughter sound so… territorial?
‘Fu~Fu~ My daughter has grown into such a fine woman! That’s it, my dear—fight for your love!’ she thought proudly, resisting the urge to openly cheer.
Even if the “opponent” was none other than her other daughter.
“Aether~”
But then—
The atmosphere shifted.
A sudden, noticeable change in tone. The sound of rustling fabric. The unmistakable, wet press of lips meeting lips.
Emberlyn’s breath hitched.
‘Wait a minute…’
She froze, feeling an odd sense of secondhand embarrassment creeping up her spine. But she told herself to remain calm. This was just her daughter expressing her love for her husband. She softly giggled before deciding to announce her presence. She was just about to lift her upper body to give them a surprise when—
“This is how a woman shows her love to her man…”
Emberlyn barely had time to register the words before she saw it—
Her eldest daughter’s hands moved downward, gripping Aether’s waistband, pulling—
Emberlyn gasped.
And immediately flopped back down onto her mattress, eyes squeezed shut.
‘Nope. Not my problem.’
She lay there completely still, hoping—praying—that she could somehow erase the last few seconds from her memory.
Her face turned pale—not because she had glimpsed something dangerous… well, maybe a little—but more importantly, because she feared she might anger her Emperor. The very thought sent a chill down her spine.
‘Raven, you shouldn’t be doing that in front of others!!’ Emberlyn screamed inwardly, pressing a hand over her mouth as she tried to calm her racing nerves.
The situation had escalated far too quickly, spiralling out of control before she even had the chance to react. She knew she needed to leave, yet when she glanced at the door, she found it tightly locked. Opening it now would only draw attention and alert everyone to her presence, and that was the last thing she wanted.
‘M-Maybe I should just wait for a second…’ she reasoned, trying to convince herself. ‘I’m sure Raven is just teasing her sister, trying to push her to be more honest instead of complaining so much…’
She tried to calm herself, but the way things were unfolding made it difficult.
“~Hmm~” Read new chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
Slrrpppp~
The wet sound of sucking and moaning echoed through the room.
Emberlyn didn’t flinch…. She didn’t blush, nor did she feel any sense of embarrassment or tingling excitement.
She simply lay there, waiting for Raven to finish whatever she was doing.
‘Hmm… this is taking longer than I expected,’ she thought with a slight frown, wondering why her daughter was taking so long to calm a man, ‘Maybe she’s not as skilled as I thought? If this is just to make Thalia more truthful, then why is it dragging on for so long?’
“You want it?”
Emberlyn blinked in surprise. That tone… Raven sounded rather amused, almost as if she was enjoying this little game of hers far more than she should.
‘It looks like she doesn’t mind sharing her sister with him,’ Emberlyn mused, raising an eyebrow at the thought.
She wasn’t particularly shocked. It wasn’t uncommon for Emperors—especially powerful ones—to have large harems. A competent ruler naturally attracted many women, but it was rare for an Emperor to take multiple women from the same family.
After all, most Emperors sought to have children with different dragon tribes, hoping to discover which lineage produced the strongest heirs.
That said, Emberlyn had no issue with it.
If her daughters were happy, and if her Emperor continued proving himself to be more capable than any ruler she had ever known, then she wouldn’t mind in the slightest… As long as their relationship was built on trust, mutual desire, and respect, she would support them without hesitation.
A soft smile graced her lips as she thought about how her rowdy daughters were finally settling down. She had raised them to be strong, and to make their own choices, and it seemed they had grown into fine women who knew what they wanted.
‘Our daughters have grown into such fine women,’ she thought proudly. ‘Strong, determined, and unafraid to fight for what they want. That’s my girls.’
But that didn’t change the fact that she was still trapped in an incredibly awkward situation. She was lying on the floor, pretending to be asleep, while a very heated exchange was happening right next to her. She wanted to leave, but there was no way to escape unnoticed.
“Then why not leave this place?”
Emberlyn’s eyes widened slightly.
Now that… took her aback.
But then, she quickly understood.
Raven wasn’t actually serious—she was just pushing Thalia, trying to force her to be honest about her feelings. But even so, it was a dangerous gamble.
Emberlyn couldn’t help but worry. ‘This is going too far…’
She knew her younger daughter’s personality well. Instead of accepting her feelings, she would rather run away. If Thalia thought there was even the slightest chance that her emotions would be exposed, she would escape before admitting anything.
Emberlyn sighed inwardly, already feeling pity for her younger daughter.
‘Just say the truth, you idiot!’ she screamed in her head, hoping—praying—that this whole mess could resolve itself without any unnecessary drama.
But then—
“Y-You pervert!!”
Thalia snapped, her voice filled with frustration and flustered embarrassment.
Instead of acknowledging her feelings, she had done the worst possible thing—she doubled down and made it even worse!
Emberlyn softly peeked and saw something dangerous that nearly groaned out loud.
‘Sigh… I cannot believe that idiot just did that.’
“You kissed me, touched me, did whatever you wanted… don’t you think it’s only fair I do what I want before I leave?”
Hearing that, Emberlyn’s disappointment grew even deeper.
Her lips pressed into a thin line. ‘This is getting ridiculous…’
She wanted to knock some sense into her younger daughter. It was so obvious what was happening, yet Thalia insisted on making things worse for herself. Emberlyn could only lie there, trapped in her spot, forced to listen as the situation continued to spiral out of control.
This was not how she had expected her day to go.
