Legacy of the Betelgeuse
Chapter 277 - Episode 277: Battle Of Zion Moor. (2)Everyone starts running toward the wall following Kyle even though nobody knows what's going on over there and we didn't receive any words from him on what we are going to do. The gate is closed and the bridge isn't down, but why are we charging in all of a sudden? I look at the wall and they're showering us with arrows and spells, Ian is protecting us as always but what's this? What are we doing? Everyone just keeps following Kyle from behind including me.
The arrows and spells are killing us one by one but Kyle keeps running toward the bridge, I look at Aven and furrow my forehead.
"What are we doing?! If we keep running like this in an open, we are going to be dead soon!"
Aven turns his head to look at me, he smirks and nods up.
"Just believe in him, Allen. I know what you're thinking but Kyle is the best leader in the Alliance Kingdoms, you will see why people are following him even though they have no idea what's happening. This is what a member like us have to do, we follow our leader and just believe in him, and you will not regret following him, Allen. So just wait and see."
I'm still not convinced with this but there's nothing else I can do, if I leave and go on my own, I will be dead immediately. The arrows and spells are killing the players behind us, we are slowly losing so much force just by doing this. Suddenly the arrows and spells are slowly decreasing, I'm confused so I look at the walls and the players are busy attacking someone or something from inside the castle. The gate is suddenly opened, I see players are waving at us and some of them are lowering the bridge for us, I'm so confused about how did they manage to enter the castle unnoticed and make chaos in there.
The bridge is lowered and we are now able to walk into the castle, the players that infiltrated the castle are looking at us while waving at us to get inside quickly. Kyle looks at his allies and gives them a thumbs up, now I know why he wanted us to charge in and it's for a distraction while these players who infiltrated the castle from the inside can do their job. I think I made a wrong judgment about Kyle, and what Aven said earlier is true, Kyle is an amazing leader.
We are all finally manage to get inside the castle and we see chaos in here, arrows and spells are flying around and the melee weapon users are clashing their weapons surrounded by debris and flames. Kyle is pointing at the Keep and orders some of the players to follow him there, but unfortunately, we are not chosen so we are going to fight these players. Aven will lead us and clean up the enemies and help our allies that are in need of help, Aven then tells us to go up the walls and clean the archers and spellcasters since they're a nuisance for our allies. We all nod with understanding and then go up the stairs through one of the towers around the castle while helping our allies that are in the way.
An hour has passed, we almost clear the walls from the enemy's archers and spellcasters but something is bothering Aven and the others. Aven keeps looking at the Keep where Kyle and the others went and look at the sky, I approach him while sheathing my swords.
"What's wrong?"
Aven shakes his head.
"No, it's just that they have been in there for an hour but why there haven't been any notifications yet. Are they still fighting in there? But what makes it so long for them to take the throne from the Malevolent Clan? I just have a feeling that something bad is happening in there."
Ilvia and the others are approaching us and they have been listening to our conversation, Ilvia then leans on the wall while looking at Aven.
"Well, have cleared the walls so there's nothing else we have to do and since you're the team leader it's your call either you want to help Kyle in there or stay here and protect the high ground from the enemies that might come later."
Aven looks at Ilvia and the others.
"What do you want me to do? Do you think we are really needed in here?"
Ilvia and the others are shrugging and tilting their heads, Chris is leaning on his staff while rising his eyebrows.
"Well, not really since there are so many players on the walls already and I don't think nobody can enter the castle other than our allies. So, yeah, we will follow your lead."
Aven nods with understanding then he unsheaths his sword.
"Alright, let's help Kyle and the others and check what's going on in there."
We all nod and we go down from the wall.
We are hurriedly running toward the Keep and on our way there, there are no more enemies and everyone is just guarding in their position as they have been told. We enter the Keep and we look around, it's too quiet for a place where the enemy should protect the area. Aven looks at us and we just nod at him, we then slowly walk further into the Keep. There are no dead bodies of the enemies or allies, it's either they respawned outside the Highland or are already being resurrected by the others.
The Keep is so massive and that might be the reason why we can't hear them from here. We keep walking further and then there's a door that's closed in front of us, a door that's made from steel. Aven leans his head toward the door to listen if there's any sound coming from the inside, his eyes are moving randomly while pressing his ear on the door. Aven leans back and sighs while shaking his head.
"I don't hear anything, but if this door is closed that means it hasn't been opened, right? This is weird since Kyle and the others should have checked every single room in the Keep. Honestly, we don't know the inside of the Keep since this is our first time in here as well. Do you think we should open this door and see what's inside?"
I look at the others and they're looking at each other then Ilvia nods.
"Yeah, let's check what's inside maybe we might be able to find something in there."
We all nod and slowly pull the steel door and it's making a loud screeching noise, we are grinning and hoping the enemy doesn't hear it even though that might be impossible to not hear this loud noise. We are all taking a peek at the room and we are surprised to see Kyle and the others are sitting and laying on the ground with their weapons and armors are broken, we immediately run toward them and Kyle looks at us while sighing with relief.
We are surrounding Kyle and the others, Aven looks at his equipment with his eyes wide open with shock.
"What happened?!"
Kyle shakes his head.
"Don't go in or you will die. It's Aksevel and he's protecting the throne room with his summons, there's no way we can deal with him in a narrow space. No matter how many players we have, we can't get pass through him. Damn it!"
Kyle is groaning while trying to stand up.
"No wonder the Malevolent Clan managed to defend the castle for 3 days straight. She has a strong ally with her."
Ilvia looks at him and furrows her forehead.
"Then what are we going to do? Are we done here?"
Kyle scoffs and nods.
"Yeah, we are done here."
We are all shocked when we heard what he said. I squint my eyes and furrow my forehead with disbelief.
"What? Is this it? We are done after we are this close to taking them down?"
Cecilia is chuckling and shaking her head.
"We are, but that doesn't mean we are not taking them down."
We are more confused with what she said. Valentino looks at us and raises his eyebrows while standing up.
"If they're using the old player to help them, then we are going to ask ours to help us."
Ian is furrowing his forehead.
"Who? We can't ask the Ophiuchus to help us since they declared that they won't participate in the BZM event."
We hear a footstep coming from behind the door behind us. We look back and Kyle scoffs while smirking.
"It seems that he's here already, that's fast..."
A guy wearing a hooding and a mask holding a scythe enters the room, he tilts his head and removes his hoodie while staring at us. Everyone is surprised to see Trevor on his own walking toward us while looking at the players that got injured, he sighs and looks at Kyle.
"So, where's Aksevel?"
